6 Reasons Why Prestige Rate MUST Be Improved by Going Rogue

One of my long-time SG mates, Angel Daddy, who'd NEVER tried base editing before in his life recently rose to a challenge I laid out for my gang, asking them to take existing bases and renovate them.

Here's what he came up with on Red Side Victory - and why the Devs really need to fix the Prestige ratio (either earned or purchaseable) by the time Going Rogue goes live...

I think you'll agree that you've never seen anything done with the base editing tool like what you're about to see in these pictures. I'm *still* in awe of his amazing talent and what he was able to accomplish with no base editing experience and a limited supply of object resources.

Decorative Room #1

Decorative Room #2

Decorative Room #3

Energy Room

Control Room

Why would anyone not want to have more prestige so they can do design work like this?!!

Devs, please consider improving this for GR!!!

Because it's not easy to afford all that from casual game play.

good stuff. i've never been able to get stuff like that done, bravo.

one question i would have is, how do you make walls completely black? i have a room thats kinda like a forest, lit with torches along a path, so it would make it look like it was outside at night without seeing the walls >.<

I thought that the only reason we can stack stuff and make mini levels within the bases was because the bases atm are broken? (i could be wrong).

Though..Changing the prestige- could be looked at while looking at the whole base thing in general- HOWEVER by Going Rogue..you mean the thing thats due to be released in what a months time- good luck with that. it was safer to ask by I18/I19 even then something thats not even going to be thought over let by GR

Keep in mind, I'm not asking for anything to be done with base building per se. I'm just saying make it easier to earn prestige or buy prestige in exchange for inf. The ratio of inf to prestige right now is TERRIBLE. That should be an quick and easy fix.

You're right, it is 7. I added the seventh room at the last minute and forgot to update the thread title. Sorry about that!

dont forget that there is a limit to how many items can be in the base. i think it is around 14,000. anymore then that and your base can go bye bye.

nice pics by the way.

I believe I remember us being able to stack stuff like that because we made a bit of a noise about it. Once base raids were disabled, there wasn't any real reason not to let us to anymore. We couldn't before because we could theoretically just block doorways and the like.

Bases like this must be earned.. by hard work and playing. Prestige on a large sg is almost limitless.

I know that I have more prestige then I can ever use and I have a base with so many objects in it. What do I do with 53 mill unused prestige? Pay that small rent?

If you descide on having a small SG, you descide on having a small base. If you want to see fantastic large bases... merge youre smaller SG's into one big one.

The ratio of Inf required to purchase Prestige isn't really supposed to be about getting you more Prestige; it's about destroying Inf. It's one of the few Inf. sinks in the game (and they really need more to combat rampant mudflation.)

One thing that's missing from your OP is exactly how much Prestige that work actually cost. How can we judge whether it's a lot or a little without some sort of number? The SG could have been active for 5 years but with no one in SG mode earning Prestige, for all we know. If we knew the cost, we could better compare it to our own experiences.

Ahh fair enough. Sounds about right as well tbh. Tho i do wonder then what will happen when they bring back base raiding.

I'll bet if they made the Inf:Prestige ratio more attractive, a lot more people would use it and a lot more Inf would get sunk.

It's like if Proctor and Gamble suddenly wanted to get rid of a bunch of coupons they had on the market for some reason. At a value of 1/20 of a cent each, I guarantee you (almost) no one is cashing in coupons for money, but make them worth a penny apiece and I'm sure a lot more would get cashed in. I know that analogy has a lot of holes in it, but it's the only one I could think of off hand.

I agree. There have been plenty of times when I could have used a bit more prestige for a building project I was working on. I've thought about converting inf for it, but the exchange rate is so poor (something like 1,000,000 inf for only 2000 prestige) that you're right -- it's not economically worth it -- at least it doesn't feel like it is, and that's what matters.

If they truly want it to function as an inf sink, they'll have to make it a more attractive proposition; so long as we feel like we're getting a raw deal on the exchange, it won't be used very often.

"If" not "when". Doesn't even appear to be on their radar at the moment.

They're not valid reasons to raise the Prestige rate even though they are awesome designs. If they raise it people with multiple accounts would just form their own sg's and not invite others. (Why are you looking at me like that?)

An easy fix, without changing ratios, would be to make decorative items cost substantially less. This make it easier for some one to do some amazing base design for a smaller SG, without having too easy access for high end control, power and defense items.

Just a thought.

Actually we talked about doing just that and the majority decided against it. One base doesn't allow 10 to 20 people the opportunity to try their hand at base building. Too many cooks in the kitchen, etc. At the same point everyone wants to try their hand at designing a large base because they can - and its fun. So that's what we did - we split up the dormant bases we'd built over the years on 4 different servers and told folks to go crazy with their creativity.

As for having extra prestige you never use, just because you don't know how to use 5 million prestige for base design doesn't mean others don't know to either. These pics can attest to limitless imagination if folks are given the resources to do it.

You see a sinkhole; I see art.

This wouldn't jive thematically for some people. That's nice of you to be selfish though lulz.

Its not just the cost of objects; its the cost of upgrading base plots just to squeeze in more rooms to work with. Having energy, control and defense items mean little without base raiding turned on (and most folks outside of the PvP community don't care about base raids).

Like eveything else in this game, base editing and design are not being used in the way the devs intended it but at least folks are still managing to have fun with a system that hasn't been updated in years. Give them a little credit for trying to keep things interesting at least.
