So...what's the deal with the patch notes delay? I mean, I'm not on the "Patch Notes Nao" bandwagon...but according to the boards, maintenance was finished more than ten hours ago. Ten hours for three bullet points?

They were arguing over whether the other thirteen things that didn't make the cut should have been included.

I agree....... the slow response to patch notes is getting a bit rediculous. I would think they would know what the changes are going to be before they do the patch....

Well, they probably want to make sure the patch gets deployed correctly and they don't have to do a rollback before posting the patch notes. Still, a ten-hour delay for such a minor patch probably shouldn't happen.

When this patch hit the Test Server, the patch notes for it never did get posted, which usually means either an exploit fix (which they won't post patch notes for ahead of time, but usually do after the patch) or some "back end" changes. Was there some exploit that I wasn't aware of with Longbow prison doors? That seems to be the only possible exploit-type thing in this patch.

A friend of mine can play again; before, there was a twenty minute time period before her laptop crashed. Now, it's just very very laggy, graphically.

So there's more in this patch than has been posted. Possibly a lot more.

It sounds like they were giving rewards when destroyed. Given that they don't fight back and there's usually no NPCs in the room with them, a Stalker/Stealther could just run through a mission to that room, kill all the doors, then abandon the mission. Take the mission again, and repeat.

As for the Invention tutorial, I suspect people were doing something similar with the mission where you get the supplies to craft an Enhancement. Take the mission, get the items, then abandon and repeat.

The big one, though, is the email change.

That change was supposed to have been in last week's patch. Maybe there was a mix-up and they included it in last week's patch notes by mistake...

Which is very nearly a joke, because it blatantly indicates a disregard for expecting us to test something for no apparent reason. At the very least, the previously used, "There are no current patch notes for this build" would be sufficient and indicate their acknowledgment that something changed and that any testing would be appreciated. To act like no patch at all occurred indicates to me that no testing is going to happen on my part.

I'm not the best Test Server tester in the world--but I'm not going to waste my time on something that doesn't even have patch notes. When did this patch go on the Training Room? I see a thread dated 6-26 asking about it. Have we been waiting for patch notes for four days? Oh, let me get right on that one!

Well, at least they finally posted the patch notes on the forums. They still don't have them on the webpage. If this one works like the last set of patch notes, it will be several days before that happens.

I'm kinda new here, but is it normal to take so long with the patch notes on the forums and on the main website? I know it annoyed me.

Are we that bored that a slight delay in posting patch notes causes this much grief?

Does your game still play after the patch? If the answer is yes, what's been changed isn't a big deal. If you can no longer play, that's the time for griping about the notes.

Perspective and priorities, folks. Time for some of both, perhaps.

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

its nice to know what they change. specifically for me its nice to have them up so i can check and see what the changes are while im at work also to know in detail what has been changed in case something big happens(which might be expected after waiting 10 hour). the lack of competency (whether accidental or on purpose) is starting to become annoying for me atleast, both in how long it takes for them to post and leaving things out.

Positron's i13 letter: We are trying to make PvP more accessible to new players, while giving experienced PvP'ers the advantage that comes with formulating tactics around the new systems we're putting in place. PvP from now on will be on our priority list. If something isn't working out, we'll be in there tweaking it and making it work, for the entire future of the product, not just Issue 13.

I see two exploits listed. Assuming the email bugfix was actually in the previous patch, there's nothing in the patchnotes that they could have posted while the patch was on Test.

Not to nit-pick but 10 hours is NOT a slight delay. I think most people would agree that one or two hours is a slight delay, but 10 hours is nowhere's near slight.

I can see whining about the cops taking too long after your house was broken into or the the paramedics taking too long when you're bleeding out on the floor.

But this?

It's ridiculous. And yes, it's an I not a freaking E.

No, generally it is much quicker.

Which means that the EU population did have rights to go gripping for notes. I was one of the many who for some reason was unable to play. Kitsune thankfully did bring the suggestion to delete the checksum file forcing the client to make a new and thus update properly.
But there was no Moderator that brought this info public. I really do wonder what else was in that patch.
I also agree that if you make a patch you sort of (should) know what you are patching by watching and checking a list. Unless there is either lots of hush hush or a communication shutdown between the patchers and the Moderators.

But in the end the game works, that is good. Finding out that a previous patch to the MA system made my old MA arc impossible to play was not fun.

MorpheanRogue, making two possibly life or death comparissions to this issue is a little over the top. As I am sure you will agree if you take a longer look at the issue we are complaining about here.

Now folks, throw this under the heading of entitlement rant is your prefer, but here is why I feel I have a right to know what is in the patch, and in a timely manner, as long as it does not give away further exploits or game secrets of some sort:

First - I actually check to make sure the things they list are NOT affecting any of my characters. Not every time, but enough so I can send in notes if something is not working the way they say it should. I do this for myself only, but some of you benefit from it.

Second - I do not like to be the 3,000th person to report the same problem, so if I see it listed on the forums, I generally send in a very short PM to customer support instead of a long detailed one. I figure they don't need to waste much time that way.

And Third - It is MY computer that is being updated, I would like to know in a basic way what is happening. I don't find that unreasonable and neither should you if you think a little more about it instead of spouting off the vitroil.

Now, as for the I and E comment, I have no clue what your talking about, seems someone got your nickers in a twist though.

Someone earlier in the thread had spelled ridiculous incorrectly. Apparently it's okay to complain about a player's spelling, but not about a 10-hour delay in posting patch notes by representatives from a major game company who have always had trouble delivering complete patch notes in a timely manner and who have promised in the past to do better.

Ok, now that makes sense, thank you for clearing that up for me (the whole I and E thing). Posi Rep to you good Sir.

It would be nice to know what else was changed. Like the improved city building textures, or more Phys-X objects in the environment, two noticeable changes that were not included in the patch notes.
