Patch notes for build 1800.201006040036.4Tr

City of Heroes® Super Booster V: Mutant is now in game and will be available tomorrow for $9.99/€8.99/£5.99 on the NCsoft® store. City of Heroes® Super Booster V: Mutant allows you to harness the powers of mutation to access fantastic new costume sets, bizarre emotes, and the exclusive Secondary Mutation power. This booster pack serial code enables the booster pack features for all characters on the game account from level 1. However, the costume change emotes** listed below require unlocking at least one additional costume slot.

Mutant Theme Costume Sets

  • The Mutant theme costume sets unlock all-new heads, armor, sleeves, shoulders, gloves, tails, wings, pants and boots.
    • Organic Armor
    • Bioluminescent
  • Custom weapons:
    • Dual Blades.
    • Broadsword
  • Both costume sets include tintable costume pieces, a new feature that allows you to create unique glows for individual costume pieces.
Secondary Mutation Power
  • Tap into the incredible potential locked within your DNA. Secondary Mutation allows your character to mutate itself for amazing, unexpected results. Charge into battle with new abilities. Be careful, they may help your foes more than you. There is a chance this power can backfire and turn you into a Rikti monkey. Secondary Mutation is available every 20 minutes and is not affected by recharge buffs. Its effects include:
    • Acute senses
    • Tough hide
    • Pain tolerance
    • Quick reflexes
    • Heightened speed
Character Emotes
  • Showoff (/em showoff)
  • Growl /em growl
Costume Change Emotes
  • Activate the following mutant-themed costume change emotes using the costume change interface, selectable from the main Menu.
    • Energy Morph
    • Rapid Boil
    • Dimensional Shift
**By default characters only have one costume slot, and must unlock additional costume slots through activities in the game. This can be accomplished by completing costume slot missions at levels 20, 30, and 40, and by using Halloween Event salvage (which can also be bought and sold via the in-game Consignment Houses).

Powers

General
  • Arachnos Heavy Blasters will no longer immediately run out of endurance.


Tasks
  • Fixed a bug in all Police Band/Broker ‘rescue’ missions, where the boss guarding the rescue NPC would be named 'BOSS_DISPLAYNAME’
  • Ouroboros – Fixed a bug in Flashback missions that caused Badges to be awarded only to the mission owner.

Tailor
  • Put back the Warrior lower body option from the Martial Arts pack, which had temporarily gone missing.
  • Fixed a bug that made the left hand gun of female Thugs Masterminds (except the Legacy Semi-Auto) invisible.
  • Fixed a bug for Male and Huge characters where the legacy tails still showed up in the Belt category if the upper body was set to Armored or Baggy.


Global Email
  • Increased the time before stored emails are deleted from 30 days to 60 days. There is now a column after the date that indicates how much longer an email will be stored.
  • Fixed a bug that would cause attachments to be lost if an email was accidentally sent to an invalid name longer than 21 characters .

Arenas
  • Fixed a bug that prevented players from issuing commands to Gladiators.

Options
  • Fixed sound FX not playing properly when in flight and on Female and Huge models for various Costume Changes associated with the Mutant Pack
  • Players who have not prepurchased the Going Rogue expansion can now open The NCsoft Store Going Rogue prepurchase page at the Character Select screen at log in.

This is some great stuff.

Only one problem, though. Thugs, Mercs, and Ninja MM Pets now die rather than do their 'go away' emotes. Robots, Zombies, and Demons are unaffected.

Oh, and Shields that can take a secondary pattern (i.e. Cavalier, Knight, Heater, Kite, and Round normal, not Reinforced.) are still unable to do so.

Ok... this got my attention. Does that means that brazillian players wont have to rely on a unreliable retailer (LevelUP Games)? Does this bypass the IP block on regular store? Can you place the Booster Packs there too, kind of what we have on Guild Wars?

Regen/Scrapper Integration still doesn't show the proper power "aura" when activated too.

Overall some good fixes. Thank you to the team for getting these out.

I would like to make one request though, could we get these notes posted at about the same time the patch goes out? Also, could the website get updated with these patch notes sometime today? Obviously I do not speak for everyone, but waiting several hours to find out what I am downloading is slightly annoying and then when I go to the main website and can't find the info at all . . . aggravating. At least the forums had them, but not til a few hours after the patch and looking things up in the forums is a whole new annoyance in and of itself.

Not trying to rant, just a suggestion.

Okay, I can't be the only person who's looking closely at this new power. What exactly does it mean it'll turn my character into a Rikti Monkey - just aesthetically or will it somehow affect my powers in a negative way as well? Will the effect last for 20 minutes like the Mystic Fortune buff? Is this the only negative buff that can result from the Secondary Mutation power, or is it more like the Lab Equipment that can screw my recharge, damage, accuracy, etc.?

More info, pls. Maybe an FAQ, like you guys recently issued for the announced market merger due for Going Rogue, would be in order here.

The link above should help any questions, the page isnt fully completed but the base info is there.

As for the Rikti Monkey mutation - it works by devolving you to the monkey state, it lasts only a minute though in which your powers are out.

I can see folks getting hot under the collar about this but the way I see it is the other buffs last for 20 minutes which is a fair chunk of time, leading it to be one of the buffs you drop at the start of a mission - that way if the monkey power hits you only have to wait a minute of flailing, I wouldnt suggest to use this power in a heated AV fight for example though

This had not been fixed, also when trying to tint gun colours on a DP corruptor the colour won't change.

That's an reasonable assumption, but it would be nice to have release times as well as dates like we do with DXP start times, events, etc.

Booster packs are always released in the evening or late afternoon for the EU. It was with all the previous ones and it'll be the same for this one. US company, US hours.

It would've been a lot smarter to take your day off tomorrow.

Ok...just for clarification. It states that you have to unlock an additional costume slot for it to function. Am I correct in assuming if I have unlocked all 5 slots it will work? That means that it will not function with only the one original slot open...right?
