This takes the biscuit.
I got the same email.
I wish I could say that Im shocked or surprised, but that wouldnt be true. Sadly Im not as this is just enough example of the apparent total disregard that there seems to be for the EU community of late.
Im sure it will be explained as an honest mistake, but come on, this is poor

have either of you two thought about complaining to the European branch of NCSoft?
http://eu.ncsoft.com/en-gb/
Really, it's their job. Right off hand it sounds like the American NCSoft guys are picking up on their slack.

Far as I knew there is no European branch of NC Marketing, it's all handled by the US side now. NCSoft EU is mostly GMs nowadays, any sort of business / campaign stuff is handled by the US side.
Is there a chance this mail was sent to people because they have an expired US account of some form, even a trial account?
Really it's stupid from their point of view. Sending EU customers to buy a product which isn't compatible with their version of the game just causes extra work for Customer Services and generates bad will on the customer side when they've to jump through hoops to get their pre-purchase working.

Among the positions they have open are:
- Customer Support Team Lead
- European Territory Brand Manager
- Head Of PR, Europe
So you might be right. It might just the US guys right now till the Eu department fills some of those jobs.
Well, I don't have a US account expired or otherwise.
je_saist I have emailed them, I don't suppose I'll get a reply, but I thought what the hell.

I got 4
and yeah, anything non-game support was axed from Brighton a while ago. One of the best community reps we had lost his job simply because he wasn't willing to move to a totally different continent.
I got one in my inbox and one in my junk o.O'
I just deleted the message without reading it. I couldn't be bothered with NCsoft's propaganda.
How come I only got one...I feel cheated

stupid marketing ppl
Actually I've just realised that I do have 4 different CoH accounts, 1 main EU, 1 main US, 1 trial EU and 1 trial US.
So I guess someone decided to send the US mail to every instance of a CoH account, active or inactive, trial or full, EU or US.
Which is certainly an... interesting way to go about things.
The thing is, the email actually states in the web address that it's the UK version newsletter_coh_uk_may2010 and the links at the bottom are to the UK support page... It's only the actual prepurchase link that directs to the NA prepurchase of GR.... Way to mix things up!

Basically they don't want us to purchase the EU version of pre-GR?
Conspiracy if I do say so myself.
I generally get the newsletter twice because I have two EU accounts active at the moment.
And I will say that having this email point to the US game was just a bit thoughtless but like NH says im not entirely surprised
I only have one current account, so why did I get two emails? Spam until I buy?

Edit: Just checked the links on mine [didnt originally check since i had already pre-purchased it] and on all 6 of the e-mails i've had they all point to the NA version of the download. Well least i think its the NA version, the EU version has the (europe] and supported languages (english/french/german) on it correct? If so, none of mine do
@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!
I wouldn't know as I didn't get any.

After the serious lack of marketing in the EU and everything else that's been going on lately I am utterly flabbergasted to have received not one, but two NCSoft newsletter emails (Just Revealed: exclusive Going Rogue footage.) that directs me to the NA prepurchase of GR and not the EU one.
I would've thought the newsletter would be pertinent to the subscriber's location, not just NA. Oh, hang on a minute, it WAS for the UK according to the link to read it on the web. Crikey... I've no idea what to say to that!
So, no shelf presence, no marketing, and pushing the NA version on to EU people via email. How in hecks are we supposed to get new players? I've suggested before that current folks should grab their friends, but as it's been pointed out to me in the other thread, it's NCSoft's job!
