Even if I don't get what I asked for, SOMEONE will get something he or she asked for, and really, can we ask for more than that?

Uch! NO! I hate unlockable costume pieces. I'd sooner pay money for them and have them available AT CHARACTER CREATION than have to wait an arbitrary amount of levels and do an arbitrary task to get an item that I'm probably not going to bother playing the character who needs it without.
If I never see another unlockable costume piece it will be too soon. Either make them unlock for the whole account, sell them for real money or drop them in for free. There are PLENTY of other things to earn as rewards for boring, repetitive tasks. Costumes do not need to be among them. |
What if it was unlocked by something that you'd hardly have to go out of your way for. Something that you'd probably earn with little or no extra effort. Like the snake killing badge would unlock snake costume peaces. Or something with only the difficulty of the costume slot and cape aura missions.

Let me put it this way - I would gladly earn an unlockable costume piece that required me to do all the Shard TFs ten times over, if that unlock then applied to all my characters at character creation. I feel about having costumes available at creation just THAT strongly.

Observe how dynamic this stuff looks, how much motion there is. I think some animations based on these principals would rawk.
So since this seems to be the place where stuff gets done...
Male widows animation for Poison Dart is borked.
For the record, the only other player attack that uses the proper animation that I can think of, Paralytic Poison, is still as it should be.

If I leave Combat Jumping active, I have some kind of animation flowing constantly from my fists (why the fists?) while standing there. It's irritating that I can remove the FX from many primary and secondary powers entirely, but the pools.

I know this is no help at all....
But one of the reasons I love CoH is just how awesome things look in game! ^^

To thinks that can be kicked around.. is there a way to emulate weight? All the
object (even cars) are kicked around like they are inflatable. It's really funny but
it would be awesome if weight can be added to that.. If not then I so understand.
David, again I can't tell you how exciting it is that you asked us about this.
I haven't had time to read the whole thread, but some of the animations that stand out to me are:
- More travel powers. Ninja Run was absolutely amazing. I hear it was also a bear for you all to produce, but that one set of animations really makes us look more heroic. A version of it without the arms extended, if that's possible, would be awesome.
- It's been mentioned, but some additional animations for Sword, Axe, and Mace. These three sets have been around a long time and haven't been given the awesome treatment some of the newer sets have. The "whirl" and "cleave" powers in particular I think could be made amazing.
- Animations to replace the "breath" powers. A lot of people really don't like these for concept reasons. The same with "laser beam eyes" which kind of comes out of nowhere in Radiation Blast but could be reused as an option in other sets.
- Reskins of some of the existing powersets (does that count as "animation"?) the way you guys did with Earth Control. Specifically, a version of Plant Control that is less thorny and evil looking; a version of Traps/Devices that replaces the mechanical objects with magic artifacts, glowing crystals, totems, etc, OR wooden tiki-style devices; a version of Sonic Blast/Resonance with more musical or more "warped" sound effects.
- A version of Gravity Control's hold that replaces the "float in place" graphic with the "flip around in the air" graphic used by Ghost Widow's hold. You don't have to include the little rainbow eel that wraps around us when it hits, just the flip animation. You will instantly create a new army of gravity controllers, including me.
I know this is very hard, but could we please get a motorcycle effect for running powers, specifically super speed, if it is at all possible. This would give the natural human super heroes a more realistic transportation power past stealth.

I would like an alternate animation for Eviserate in the claws powerset. I really hate that backflip animation on some of my characters, it looks odd especially if your character has wings.
In regards to animations, I have a suggestion or two. I don't know if they've been brought up yet, but here goes.
I really like the Redcaps dual blade spin double stab(best way I can describe it hehe). I think that animation would be a great animation option for Blinding Feint and Assassin's Blow(especially for Dual Blades). Also, the spin/stab animation could work with Broadsword and Katana as well.
Assault Rifle: Keeping the rifle snug to the shoulder instead of the hip position could be a good animation option, like the Sniper Shot animation for AR( looks more Spec Op-ish ) In continuing with this, when the character is moving/not moving, the barrel could be pointing down. Also, since your character stops to fire, a kneeling firing position would be another viable animation option for AR sets. Perhaps a reload animation as well, where the magazine is ejected from the rifle/pistol and the toon reloads it. No gameplay value, just for aesthetics , as in a /emote reload that can be used for both AR and DP.
Martial Arts: A few more options would be nice. For example, Cobra Strike. You could add a spinning backhand for that Stun effect . For SS you could go for elbow and knee smashes, but that's probably a stretch hehe.
Oh and just for fun, I would love to see Brutes/Tanks have the ability to pick up cars and throw them(I know this may never happen, but it would be fun on bank missions for both red and blue sides )

One thing that has been talked about in the last few months are player character death/defeated animations. It becomes boring when we are defeated by a very powerful enemy to always see the same animation.
Suggestions that will be good are:
Ragdoll Physics to our character. An payed death emote package with your both of your own ideas and our suggestions. You can see this thread which is one of the recent ones:

We will love to see more new things in this great game.
I understand what I am about to request probably isn't possible/practical but could you at least check that? After all, power customization was not-practical for years and we do have it now.
Current situation:
Some animated costume parts seem to animate independently of power animations. For example, wings (and tails) keep flapping (and.. swishing?) even when various powers are going off and I very much doubt that every power in the game has with-wings, with-tail and with-wings-and-tail versions.
Request:
Extend this modularity to other parts of the animation system. Most importantly decouple the upper and lower body animations - some powers (like kicks) would probably need new alternate animations that can be performed with the upper body but there aren't that many such powers.
Purpose:
Having this kind of tech in place would (I think) make it easier to add new power animations as only the relevant part would need to be modified.
And with this tech it would become more practical to implement various non-humanoid body types like these:
..and probably others
I do not suffer from altitis, I enjoy every character of it.
I'd like to note that the costume components with independent animations - fluttering wings, waving tails - are also explicitly not integrated with the full-body animations of most powers. I have doubts that the techniques used for these optional additional parts would be extendable to the core body animations.

Hope we can get some cool VFX in the speed pool like Lightning,Fire,Sonic...etc to choose from as well as the no fx option. Would add another dimension to customization IMO.

With powers like Propel, or any situation where the system generates any number of random objects. It really breaks the illusion when players see different objects.
"Yeah! Did you see me knock that Ruin Mage back with that safe?!"
"Dude. That was a coffin."
Please make it so that those generated objects are the same for everyone.
