Anyone else get an Aion e-mail in French?

Wasn't really sure where to put this, I figured it didn't quite fit in Player Questions since it's not really about the game.

So I just got an e-mail about Aion in French. It seems to be legit, describing a new update to the game and I think it mentions a Double XP Weekend. Here's the thing -- I don't have an Aion account. Never have. Also I'm not French. Has anyone else every gotten anything like this?

Check your master account to see if you are showing an Aion account. NCSoft has a security bug they've been downplaying that gives people access to another customers account when they try to login to their own account. So it's possible someone set up an account posing as you.

I doubt it. I got the same email.

I got one as well.

Yeah I got one too, not sure why.

I got one, too, and I don't have, have never had, and never will have, an Aion account. And I double-checked my Master Accounts to make sure.

As far as I'm concerned, this is just another attempt tp steal accounts, since Aion seems to be very good at that.

Knowing my luck there were probably 2 buttons side by side on some NCSoft employee's computer screen

"Send Lightslinger GR Beta Invite" or "Send Lightslinger Fancy French Aion Newsletter"

I got the Aion newsletter, but it was in English, from a legitimate source (the same source as all other Aion newsletters have been), and I am currently subscribed to Aion.

I got one, but to an old email address I haven't used in years. I basically assumed it was fake.

My fiance got one as well. It doesn't seem to be phishing, it just talks about the 1.9 update, no mention of "click here to get your free stuff" or anything. I guess someone at NCsoft got their wires crossed.

I just got it as well.

I'm not subscribed to Aion at all.
Looks to be a Marketing screw up.

Thank you for the time...

I have now gotten the same newsletter that I got yesterday in English, just now in French. The layout is a little bit different (the English version has a "Refer a Friend" blurb section, and a Comic-Con blurb section, like the video) but otherwise basically the same.

Badging in a PvP zone?

If you are treasure hunting on a battlefield wearing an enemy uniform, there is a high probability that you will be attacked.

I got one as well, and I will trade it for GR Beta access and a cookie.

I got one to.
I think it was a phishing attempt because the hyperlinks in the email let to very weird looking links.
I don't even play aion, hence it went to trash.

Two?

Pfft, I got three of the buggers!

Never owned Aion, not the beta, not gonna get it, not got it in my master account either.

Damn weird.

I got three too. They were neatly filtered into the spam folder for easy deletion!

I did play aion tho... for the free month only since it sucked

I noticed that too, but a Google search seems to suggest that listmanager.lyris.ncsoft.com is legit. And the links redirect to the French Aion page (fr.aiononline.com).

"And for us this is the end of all stories, and we can mostly say they lived happily ever after. But for them it was the beginning of the real story.
