Blasters, specifically an nrg/nrg blapper - thats living life on the edge, especially when you forego most of your knockback attacks.

Dominators in first place for me. I love control, I love freezing things in place, and I love then beating them to a pulp. I'm not squishy, but only because nothing gets a chance to swing at me - it's considerably more interesting than not being squishy simply because you're not a squishy. The adrenaline rush is akin to playing a blaster, but with less floor-eating. The only fly in the ointment are those #*%$&(*@ PToD EBs. They're the reason I'm waiting with such bated breath for doms to get illusion, for then I WILL BE AN UNSTOPPABLE GOD MUHAHAHAHAHA!

In a rough tie for second are defenders and tanks. Both have the same sort of careful-attention-required demands as dominators, but in a manner than focuses on others rather than myself. In general, I like to have interesting tactical possibilities available.

Then there's scrappers, for when I *don't* feel like having to think. These are for when I just want to zone out and kill stuff.

In order of preference (based on total levels of current characters combined):

Brutes
Dominators
Stalkers
Scrappers
Corruptors
Blasters
Masterminds
Controllers
Tankers
Defenders

Brutes win by a landslide, and Dominators are the only AT to even rank respectably after that. My one and only surviving Defender is a 50, though... so that probably gives you a good idea of how bad my altitis is, that the AT still ranked lowest for me.

Khelds and SoAs... eh. Never been able to get out of the 30's with 'em, and all my most recent attempts have been deleted to make space on my main servers for GR. I like how Khelds look, but not how they play, and have the opposite problem with SoAs. If I can't get behind both the concept and the gameplay, I lose interest very quickly.

If I had to say right now, I'd say scrappers. They come closest to the feeling of a comic book superhero for me. Well Scrappers & Stalkers. However, Stalkers I find to be really tight builds (and still trying to find one that can dish out comparable DPS to a scrapper).

What really allurs me is just fancy attacks. This is why my first 50 was a Claw Scrapper. Eviserate had me jumping and spinning. I didnt feel like I was standing in one place and just hitting them. Not to mention, it came with ranged attacks which I think shouldn't be deprieved from sets just because they have a /Defense secondary (more so because I tend to just use range attacks in melee range anyways )

Brutes would fall in line with Scrappers, but I hate the Fury mechanic. And Tankers feel like to little damage.

However, I feel like I bring more to my teams when I'm on my Corr/Def/Troller/MM...due to the debuffs/buffs.

And this is why I love Dual Pistols. It's one of the best sets for feeling like I'm moving all about in my attacking.

I have a sneaking feeling that if I could make Sonic Resonance or Force Field Defender or Corruptor (coupled with Dual Pistols) into an AV soloing machine, I'd find my OMG this is it toon.

I really seem to love them all (Although,I have to give Controllers and Stalkers more of a whirl)...
But I got so lucky and found my love in Electric/Electric/Electric Blaster... The Electro-Blaptroller, jack of many trades... zapper, sapper, blapper, troller...

After a while, I started getting into trouble, because I would delay a bit, unsure which method of taking out a MOB I wanted to go with, debating within myself... hehe... the split-seconds are too precious when you're a blaster though.

Honestly, Blasters give me some of the most thrill... Learning to play the game solo as a blaster and constantly living on that edge of the glass cannon gave me so much enjoyment. It was tough to learn to appreciate the other ATs afterward

I have to admit, Scrappers are a big ball of fun... as is my Bots/Force Fields Master Mind and my Mind/Psi Dominator... Bah, I love them all... But my E3 Blaster is my favorite.

Hmm Fav AT? probably a tank, I have more lvl 50 tanks than anything else, it kinda reminds me of being on the rugby field. Taunt is just like carrying the ball, you'll have 5 guys commin at you determined to stop you, cant pass, what do you do ? charge em

while i've carried smaller opponents who have tried to stop me, I'd never stand up as well as my tanks do if I had the agro cap commin at me

Controllers.

I can use them to buff, debuff, protect, defeat, pin foes down or reduce their capacity to do anything to trivial levels.
The ability to mix buff sets with debuff sets, field pets to distract my foes is just fantastic.

I don't think I would still be playing this game if the Controller archetype was unavailable. It just offers so many options that the tedium of the game makes progressing through levels enjoyable again.

I guess I must enjoy ranged characters because my three favorite characters are a blaster, controller and defender. There's an AoE aspect to each as well with them being AR/Dev, Earth/Storm and Rad/Rad respectively. I like seeing a huge swarm of guys and being able to lock 'em down or take 'em down from range with only one or two moves.

Never gotten a melee past level 24. I have some character concepts I'd love to play out but the actual slugfests just don't seem to grab me.

You will most definitely be seeing a Kinetic Melee Scrapper from me.

Blasters - my sig used to proudly proclaim it!

Secondarily - other ATs that can blast, usually defenders and corruptors, somewhat controllers & blasting Widows.

Brutes.

I like pretty much all the ATs, but Brutes have a wonderful mix of offense and defense (and they thrive on non-stop fighting).

Posted

Peacebringer and Crab. I like a mixed role and these two offer me that in spades. What I seem to happen to play most though are Controllers. I haven't the foggiest why since I like them well enough but enjoy tougher characters.

Scrappers.

Honestly, I think they're the most well balanced AT in the game. Tankers don't deal enough damage and can't solo well enough, Defenders, Corrs, and Controllers are either too weak or overpowered depending on how you leverage the support mechanisms, Blasters and Dominators are a lacking in survivability mechanisms that don't rely on binary conditions (they're either attacking you at full strength, dead, or mezzed into lol), and Brutes are simply overpowered thanks to some retarded decisions by the Cryptic devs (Scrapper damage and above-Scrapper survivability while solo, Tanker level survivability and above-Scrapper damage when on teams; /facepalm).

Favorite would be scrappers - good solo or in a duo.

Followed by Brutes and VEATS.

Then tanks.

Same here, red-side I like brutes. Recently making a Claws/WP brute (A remake of an old, long deleted character concept), I found out a new feel to steamrolling: NO2 Blender. My 50 DM/WP brute was just as fun, but probably would have been better with a Defense based secondary.

Claws and Dark are my two favorite melee sets. Probably since they're the only ones I've leveled up enough to get a good, scrappy, attack rotation. They just feel good throughout their growth. Claws is set once it hits level 18 (maybe 19 to get slots in that bad mother that is Focus. My favorite power in the game).

Listening to Rammstein and weed-whacking through waves of enemies with a Brute/Scrapper is just fun and loosens the nerves.

Besides melee classes, I enjoy MMs, but am too impatient to set up and buff all my minions every time I go into a mission. They're fun in combat, but outside of combat it feels like I brought 6 kids to a fine restaurant.

Definitely Defenders for me.

Followed by Scrappers, Stalkers... then Tankers, Dominators, Controllers... then Brutes, Blasters, Masterminds, and Corruptors. Not counting the EATs... not sure where I'd rank them.

As for level 50s, I have 13 of them, reached in this order: Defender, Scrapper, Mastermind, Tanker, Controller, Dominator, Stalker, Warshade, Brute, Controller, Controller, Scrapper, Arachnos Widow. Then again, that list tends to overstate how I feel about Controllers and doesn't take into consideration that my opinions have changed over time.

I like Tanks the most but my MO for enjoying a character is "can I keep my team safe and still survive" so defenders controllers and corrs I also enjoy.
