Who is Submariner Janus?

I'm in Sharkhead Isle right now standing next to an NPC named Submariner Janus, who is standing on a dock next to a submarine. Who is he? When select him, he says, "Sorry buddy. You and I shouldn't really seen be talkin'. Come back when you've decided to make some 'life choices'. I'd be curious to know how that works out for you."

I would bet that will be how we get to Praetoria or Paragon City if our Villain goes Rogue once GR is out.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

I have not seen Submariner Janus, but from the name only... Yes, he would have something to do with GR. Most likely Paragon City.
Submariner... for transport to the city and back again.
Janus, from the greek character symbolic of Two faces.

It would likely be down near the Striga and Peregrine Ferries in Talos and/or in Independence Port being the level 20 zones.

Where is Janus? I've found two subs in Sharkhead (one at Villa Requin, one near the ferry at Port Recluse), and he's not at either of them.

Could it be that he was an accidental leak of Going Rogue stuff, so they removed him with the latest patch?

Just checked, he's still in both zones.

It is better to ask forgiveness than permission.

Yep. He was the god of beginnings and endings, such as travels. He was also the god of doorways: places that mark the beginning and ending of travels. (appropriate then that his name is used as the gatekeeper to side changing) His dualistic nature has come to represent duplicity. Sometimes he's referred to as Yanus, which was the underground code name of 006 in Goldeneye, implying that character's duplicity.

There is no such thing as an "innocent bystander"

Who also, ironically, became associated with hypocrisy (two-facedness).

For those interested Here's a picture of what he and the sub have to say(the one in Ind. Port). kinda spoilers if you want to look at it that way, so head's up.

the word that's not showin in the bottom screenshot is "Missions", for those wondering. I just didn't want to do two for a single missing word word.

For heroes who don't wish to play hide-and-seek, his coordinates at Independence Port are {SPOILER}

Thank you - it's fixed.

The next question is how many other such NPCs are out there who will eventually ferry/airlift/smuggle players between the cities?

One other observation: Submariner Janus apparently uses the same costume/model as Shady Mac from the Cap au Diable Black Market (n.b. the anarchist logo on the lapels in both cases).
