Incarnates?!?
I second that tying powers to a Deity would be highly doubt full. Look how the Patron powers on the villain side worked out.
Lets learn from mistakes and not repeat them.

Originally by Arcanaville: Everything in Praetoria was designed during a drinking binge in which the devs temporarily forgot the rules. |
They might go with the angle that the Well of the Furies is just a power source for divine power, and the only reason it has a Greek name is because the ancient Greeks were the ones who found out about it, so they gave it a name from their mythology.

That was the sound of me fainting...you...a good idea...it cannot be surely?
Alright where's GG and what have you done with her?
There was no winkie in that post so I know you're an imposter!

Ohh so hard not to say somethign banable today.
If the soon to be implemented Incarnate system lets you choose a deity, as I assume it will, which deity will you choose?

I know that is how States/Recluse got juiced, but there are many other of the core named Heroes and Villains (GW, Synapse....) that have nothing to do with deities of any pantheon. I am just not prepared to make the leap that the Incarnate System assumes anything at this point.
Goodbye, I guess.

I'm already an incarnate of myself.
Be well, people of CoH.
Incarnate of Ophelia. Patron Saint of Drunk Dialing.
Rather it follow a portfolio system similar to the powers of the gods in dungeons and dragons. Things like Body, Mind, Spirit, Life, Death, Speed, etc. Using this would provide the devs the ability to put out a multitude of powers and just slide them into their respective folder. Now guidelines as to what would be allowed to choose and or mix/max would have to be decided in test.
Quite simply, I'd be happy if it let you choose any two powers from your ATs power list. Example on my Elec/WP Brute take maybe "Against all Odds" and "FootStomp". Or my Fire/Rad Controller and take "Falcrum Shift" and "Siphon Speed". The choices are endless even then and would be easy or the devs to add. Although I would really like new powers.
I already am.... Just an imperfect one.
In the Arena of Logic, I fight unarmed.

Just remember that when you assume it makes an *** out of you.

I suspect it's going to be more like Healing Incarnate or Damage Incarnate, rather than specific higher powers.

I'll be like a discworld athiest where denying the gods presents a very real danger.
I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.
So sad to be ending ):

I always took it that the "Gods" part of incarnates stemming from a misunderstanding. It isn't exactly that Statesman is an Incarnate of Zeus, as was once stated, it's that Statesman is the incarnation of a particular platonic ideal for our era and Zeus was an incarnation of that same ideal in the greek age of heroes.
... and there may very well have been OTHER ages of heroes farther back in time... each with their own incarnates of those ideals.
Am I the only one in the thread who gets the Glooskap reference?

Will you pick from the rough and ready Norse pantheon? Odin? The mighty Thor, god of thunder? Loki? Kelllllldaaaa? Or perhaps the Greeks! Zeus! Apollo! Ares! BAMF-in-residence Hephaestus! Or, dare to dream, Dionysus! Egyptian? Ra? Horus? Osiris? Isis? Or will you be more obscure? Quetzlcoatl? Tiamat? Vishnu? Amaterasu? In-game gods like Tielekku and Lugebhu? |
