So I just realized the effect mailing attachments has. . .

I just rolled up a new alt earlier today, and while I was playing, frustrated by my attacks missing so often, I realized, "Hey, wait a minute! I can send myself some influence and buy those TOs now!"

In the past, TOs have sort of been a thing to laugh at. Now, I just have to send a few thousand inf to my global, and I can pick it up on a lowbie to by a few TOs which previously would be far too expensive for being that low of a level.

The bonus isn't much, but it definitley gives me a bit of an edge at the lower levels and makes leveling that much easier.

(On top of that, the new mail system is especially useful for when you can start slotting DOs and SOs since you don't neccesarily have to save up for them)

Or you could take all of 10-15 minutes and pick up a quick 100,000 to 500,000 from the market and easily fund everything you might want up through DO's in the first few minutes of the characters career...

Seriously, it's so easy that I stopped trying to twink out new characters a long time ago.

(at least as far as early career twinking goes...I'll still have my high-level toons help out on full IO sets)

Still, being able to mail stuff around IS a nice change. Makes transferring stuff a lot simpler for the few times it's really helpful.

Markets are down for the weekend though.

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

or just sell your big inspirations from the tutorial on the market for a few hundred K.

But yes, it's a great option to have!

I despise the tutorial, so I never get the big inspirations. Plus, I dislike the market in general too, so to me personally, it's not something I use or would use. =/

People keep telling me that, but I have personally never seen any bidders for these inspirations, myself, or indeed seen them sell for much over 5000. Maybe it's bad timing on my part, I don't know.

One of the first things I did with my two new Demon Summoners was mail both of them a few hundred thousand for start up influence; the one not yet in a VG also got Halloween Salvage mailed to him.

Very smooth. Good work.

You can also hold 20 things so you can hold 30 enhancements for one of those times when you hit say level 17 and suddenly want to drop level 20 enhances's on your character on the fly.

It's also a great recipe book - something that A LOT of us have been wanting.

I have to say from a multi-server/side alt-oholic point of view, this makes moving gear around between sg or vgs on various servers near effortless and definitely without risk of through-market-interception.

Pricing can vary considerably, obviously. I always put the big green and red on the market first thing out of the Tutorial, for 5 each, and I've seen them sell immediately for everything from less than 1k to more than 150k. Got 75k yesterday redside, for the red one. I can see someone forcing a few hundred k out of them, eventually somebody will need it badly enough.

I am unlikely to use the attachment system myself, honestly. I'm one of those nuts that considers each character to be independent. For the most part anyway, there are some exceptions who'll get some hand-me-down IOs.

That's a really good idea actually

I was also thinking I could keep Inf "packets" stored as emails each with 100K or a million Inf or so each to be up in the air for whatever toon of mine that wants them.

Personally, I've been using it to unload starting influence on unsuspecting newbies. Downside is, now I'm dirt poor.

What do you consider "dirt poor"?

"A great love is alot like a good memory. When it's there and you know it's there, but it's just out of your reach. It can be all that you think about. You can focus on it and try to force it but the more you do, the more you seem to push it away. But if you're patient and hold still...maybe...just maybe...it will come to you. I just need to be somewhere she can find me" - Church from Red vs Blue

I had decided to delete one of my level 50's. So i used the attachments to send all the nice Io's he had to my other characters.

Thanks to the plethora of Vetspecs I have nothing got overlooked.

Actually, someone else thought of it during Closed Beta. I just annexed the idea.

Sonuva....

I despise you. Why didn't I think of that?

Gonna have to do that straightaway!

What I 'have' been doing is spreading around Temp Powers if I already have it on a toon.

Bad timing.

I've had them sell for between 5k and over 100k.

My low 5k ones were with my lvl 50, who I was trying to get the sell inspiration badge with. Where everytime I went in, no one was buying them or they bought them for lower than I was getting on my lvl 2s.

My lvl 2s were getting 10k-100k a pop.

Admittedly, I wasn't trying to make money off them anyways. It was just something I noticed when going for the badge.

Be careful, there appears to be an intermittent bug where the game eats what you mail. Possibly connected to global chat going down. Global chat is down (on Guardian and Infinity at least), and all my mail vanished including two Winter's Gift Slow Resist IOs.

Depending on when you sell them, you can get anywhere between 10 and 100K easily.

Some of it DOES tend to be luck though. But it's 10K you didn't have earlier.

Even during the height of the "roll up a new DS MM" last week I cleared 75K after market fees. Red side.

If you're in a MASSIVE hurry, you get less. During my attempt to make a million inf within one hour of character creation, I only cleared about 35K because I needed to turn stuff over so fast.

While I hate to be blunt...

Wait...NO I DON'T!

Okay, to be blunt, if you avoid the tutorial and try to avoid the market you're essentially embracing poverty within the game. Plain and simple.

Even just putting your salvage and desirable recipe drops up there will net you SCADS of inf. You don't have to flip, vendor recipes, or anything. Just put your stuff up on the market when you can't hold any more.
