Erk... AH closed - what about the stuff for sale?
You're not going to lose your items. They are simply inaccessible until such time as they figure out why Wentworth's and the Black Market decided that stacks of items were tasty and went all Cookie Monster on people's prized possessions.
the market goes om nom nom, now the devs have to have it spayed.
The Melee Teaming Guide for Melee Mans
I hacked in and transferred your market items to my account just after it went down. Don't worry about it I'll email them back, just send me $1B inf first. Like right now, or they will be gone forever.

Hopefully that's true that we won't lose anything. I'd hate to have what my villain marketeer still had listed on the BM prior to its being taken offline disappear, heh. And I sincerely hope that it doesn't take long to get this sorted out. My two latest Kins are about to hit 47 and I'd like to be able to slot them this weekend rather than have to wait until next week
If we show patience this time it will be easier for us to convince them that they can take it down for several days to do a merger...
I'm going from memory here but I'm mainly concerned because there was an issue with the AH on Union and a lot of people lost some pretty valuable stuff then - but that was back in the day and spawned a unique event in a DXP weekend just for that server.
@Frosticus, your cheque's in the post.

Anyone have any suggestions of how to store stuff while the AH is down? I'm a returning player and haven't played since the first 2 years of the game so no SG storage.
The only option i can think of sending bit by bit in the mail and storing them on alts.
Thelonious Monk
couple hundred thousand, all you need is a workroom, then each storage device.
Not a bad suggestion really (esp. if you have a friend who can help you invite various alts to boost the initial prestige). How much prestige does it take to get a functioning storage base? |
Off the top of my head, the first decent storage room costs 100K (it will hold
9 storage units).
A salvage rack costs 15K, will hold 30 pieces of salvage and counts as 1 of
the units.
An Enhancement Table costs 95K, will hold 100 crafted enhancements, and
counts as 1 of the units.
None of those need power or control (A Vault unit does), so if you want a quick
"shed" with, say 5 racks, you'd be looking at a total cost around 175K prestige
(or 270K if you throw in an enhancement table).
For each SG member toon you add (even if they're your alts) you get 20K prestige
up to a total max of 300K (I believe)...
So, if you have a bunch of alts on that server, and a friend to invite them, you
could whip up a solo base for storage in quick order.
Going forward each of those units would run you 100 rent per month, so with
the 5 racks and a table, your monthly rent would be 600.

I'm pretty convinced that WW and BM were trying to merge themselves. They just have chemistry, he's a dark sullen outcast that nobody talks too, and she's the cheerful popular girl who is tired of all the attention, and while the Devs may try to forbid their love, such an event is only a matter of time. Much as you cannot stop the eclipse, you cannot stop the MERGE.

The best comics are still 10!
My City of Heroes Blog Freedom Feature Article: "Going Rageless?"
If you only read one guide this year, make it this one.
Super Reflexes: the Golden Fox of power sets!
WARNING: I bold names.
Actually, I'm for the bombs idea myself.
The more people I meet, the more I'm beginning to root for the zombies.
I just read that all recipes higher than 50 that don't drop are getting erased. WW is being totally "reset" and/or emptied.

@Roderick
If that comment about them deleting recipes above lvl 50 is true that could be pretty disastrous if you were storing inf on dummy bids. Would require a link to where the dev's said that though before getting overly concerned.
You don't lose anything when the market server goes down for maintenance with the other servers every week, why would you this time?

And the bug WAS related to stacked items.
Also, there were some issues in beta with stuff disappearing from the market during patches.
While I'm not going to rectally suction-cup myself to a chair over it, I thin my concern is legitimate.
I don't listen to rumors from people I have on /ignore.
Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.
So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.
So I'd got a Miracle Unique up for sale in Wentworths (plus some other stuff too) - then I learn that the AH is falling over.
Too late! It's closed and I can't retrieve my stuff - so am I gonna have to kiss it goodbye? I seriously hope not. I've searched for info but not much is being said - anyone know more?
