Ultra mode!
Well, everyone who doubted that I could run Ultra Mode even on low settings on my machine with its GeForce 9500 GS I hope is thoroughly enjoying the taste of their toes.
Behold! Ultra Mode on MEDIUM settings! (Any higher and framerate drop starts to become noticeable.) |
Granted, I probably wouldn't want to play in Port Oakes or some of the areas in Cap like this.

I'm on a GTX260 right now with a 2.5Ghz Quad Core, and 8GB of RAM. Runs just fine on:
1920x1080
Slide the Graphics Quality slider to Ultra
Then turn on Advanced Options.
4x FSAA
4x AF
World and Character Detail to 200%.
Runs REAL nice. I could probably bump the FSAA up some. But it looks fine at 4x for me.
Re: Those running on the 260. I am as well, and I can max everything except Ambient Occlusion, which I run @ Medium/ High q/ Trilateral, and FSAA which I run @ 4xAA. I'm curious as to what driver version you are running. I've been hesitant to upgrade for fear of having to go through the trouble of doign a rollback..I'm using an old 8.15 xxxx set.
Pinnacle & Virtue:
A bunch of Heroes - Alpha Team, Legion of Order.
A bunch of Villains -Black Citadel , Pinnache.
Probably the last one of these I'll do, but I already had the screenshots, and it's all practice
Talos Island:
I found the best match I could for the font in the zone name, but it's not a perfect match. If anyone does know the exact font match, then let me know please (and Dark_Respite's looking for them, too)

Me? What'd *I* do?
<looks round in panic> Umm... OK, go for it, do whatever you want with the screens I've posted. Just bear in mind that the loading screen mockups I did are just that, Mockups. Gimme a sec and I'll dig up some of the other screens I took when putting the loading screens together... |
You and bAss_ackwards do very nice work, you're like the top Paragon City photographers!

Actions speak louder than Vets.
Your Windows boots up in what, a day and a half?
You could back up your whole hard drive on a floppy diskette.
You're the biggest joke on the Internet!
Your database is a disaster.
You're waxing your modem; trying to make it go faster.
Hey fella, I bet you're still living in your parents' cellar
downloading pictures of Sarah Michelle Gellar.
And posting "Me too!" like some brain dead AOLer.
I should do the world a favor and cap you like Old Yeller.
You're just about as useless as jpegs to Hellen Keller!
You're using a 286? Don't make me laugh!

that's my favorite line in the whole song. Cue some more rappers! Weird Al has some more careers to kill!
There is no such thing as an "innocent bystander"
Shield bug on test makes for awesome screenshots

Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz (8MB Cache) Quad Core Processor
6GB Triple Channel 1067MHz DDR3
1.8GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260
640GB - SATA-II, 3Gb/s, 7,200RPM, 16MB Cache HDD

Pretty much maxed everything out just as a test and it runs smoothly.

Y'know what? If this is what Paragon and the Rogue Isles look like with UM. Praetoria's going to be...
to TO THE END!
Villains are those who dedicate their lives to causing mayhem. Villians are people from the planet Villia!

total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
Ok I am currently running on a GeForce 6600, on a 3.0 GHz Pentium 4 (not dual-core or anything like that) with 3GB RAM, and I'm not in position be upgrading anything in the next year. I'm assuming I'm not going to be able to run any UM features and am ok with that.
My question is: Will my machine still be able to run I17 (and subsequently GR) with current performance on current settings without any UM gfx feature enabled?

Oh, and a quote from David Nakayama in CB -
Also wanted to give major props to all of you go-getters who've beat us to the punch and actually created your own Ultramode load screens. Really impressive stuff.
More to follow, so stay tuned...
Anyway, here's some more of the screens I've taken for building Mockup Loading Screens : (and this is where I destroy the bandwidth on a free Photobucket account, but hey ho...)
