Loved it, especially the flyby switchover, very well done.

And I noticed Plasma warrior's character from the Off the Cape radio broadcasts!

This was okay, I wouldn't call it your masterpiece though. I think you've had a lot better ones in the past, especially the GR teaser. Now THAT was great film-making.

Outstanding video, D_R! I agree, the transition from regular to Ultra Mode was a great shot, and even with the frame rate dips in final playback, it looks outstanding and really covers the bases well. Another top-notch video.

As always, I hope to aspire to your level.

The mirror mirror on the wall thing is a bit cliched... but that doesn't matter too much was a good video. Used a good song with the more important sections like ultra mode in the more upbeat sections. Didn't use a lot of text or do stupid things like make some sections black and white and then have the screen shake and shrink and garbage like that.
So ya good job.

Yep, Plasma Warrior and Megumi from OFF THE CAPE are both in here, as are theOcho, Niviene, and Avatea... yes, the mods will rue the day they logged on with their own characters while I was within demorecording range. Mwahahahaha...

I know, I wince that the frame rate drops that much - but trust me, on better cards (and without everything cranked to "stupid" levels) it looks gorgeous.

That's okay. He was just saying last night when we were doing the taxes that "we need to donate more money, we can afford it." I figure I'll hit the Humane Society, Doctors Without Borders, and a few other places next. If we can afford to donate $400 to the Jamestown foundation then we can afford to support your wonderful videos. They make me happy. And maybe I'll still buy something for myself if I could think of anything I wanted other than a new video card (I can't. Though if he continues to tick me off on other things maybe I'll buy a new car just because I'm that mad and he said I could have one awhile ago, not that I want one).

Edit: An explanation of why I don't just buy it myself - we agreed long ago that any expenditure over $50 we had to agree on. We 'agree' on donating money. We 'agree' on cars. We don't agree on the video card. Thus, no new video card.

A word of advice to husbands: Don't ever tell your wife she can't have something she desperately wants and that you can afford out of petty cash. She'll find a way to get even.

What you do. Get a friend. Go out and get the price of the new card you want, plus tax, rounded up to the nearest multiple of $20 from the bank and leave it on the counter where they can see it.

Have them "borrow" the money and then "pay you back" with the vidcard.
Make sure they "lose" the receipt so it can't be returned (unless something's wrong with the card).

And if the "no food" thing isn't working, try the "no nookie, sleep on the couch" thing for a bit. He'll cave faster than a house of cards in a hurricane.

I've gotta admit, I do prefer the videos without the game UI. But I also realize an Issue trailer with a bunch of UI improvements should probably show that aspect of the Issue as well. Catch 22.

I agree - I far more enjoy making the ones that are more cinematic or music video in style. But FW is right - when the UI is a feature, I want to include it.

With luck, the 6th Anniversary Retrospective won't have too much of the various UIs in it. (And hooray - my spiffy new video card arrives on Monday, so I'll have nine days to shoot the Retro with UM and new graphics!)

I've been chomping at the bit, waiting for OB, so that I could see the video. And then you threw the teaser at us when you told us that WW loved it and showed it off!!

I think I was still a little too far to the side from Positron for the sweep at the end of Part 1. Ah well.

Sorry, Kheldarn! I lost the completely b****ing shot of you plowing a Tesla Prince off the gantry of the dam when the demofile of the first go-round got corrupted.

(Seriously, it was a great shot - I was hovering off the gantry a little ways away from the fighting so I could film them, and she kicked one off the dam, RIGHT INTO MY FACE, and past the camera. Completely awesome action shot.)

I will try, however, to get your awesomeness into a future video.

Great work as always, it's wierd though, you'd think with machima skills like that game companies would be banging at your door to see what you were capable of with the "Official Tools" their marketing divisions use.

Also, somebody poke someone in programming in the direction of Cryptic's new demorecorder, if we could implement a few tools off that...

Oh, I wish, bluedarky, I really wish. I don't know, maybe when compared to stuff like That Game That Should Not Be Named, my ads just don't measure up. Maybe if I knew how effective my vids were (ie, how many players signed up/resigned up/stayed in when they were thinking of leaving because of my videos), that might make a useful job negotiating tool, but I have no way of knowing that.

Well atleast some of the Red Names have acknowledged you. Maybe you could talk one of them into talking to marketing or something. Or just wait till the next time I get Manticore cornered in a PvP zone again, He'll rue the day! Then you can demand a job from him. Probally wont work, we're still tied 1-1, I think it's his turn to beat me horribly with the new Defender Buff.

Edit: Ohh Yeah, loved the video, lol, maybe next time I will show my face on Test, I'm still waiting to be hunted down every time I log onto Rogue Longbow though. He'll get me I know he will, the minute my computer lags! *Looks cautiously over shoulder*
