Wow, this thread has really taken off. Bets on whether we'll have a second season?
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
if you make season 2 you would really need to give people break....i personally getting tired of legaue and people i have to deal with....
if we do a second season, i'm boycotting all d6 matches.
i have a coddling quota of an hour a week.
It's a shame if it comes to that, though i understand why. I was really having fun and learned alot. Most of our D8 has quit now and the D6 is still going to try so I guess at least it is fun while it lasts for me (not sure we will make it to the end of the season with so few people). I will be sorry that others won't have an oportunity to learn next time, as i did, plus I am not sure any of us D6 would get picked up in a second season so double sad. Regardless of the drama it's been fun.

We have come to find some really good players or "Diamonds in the Rough" from our D6 team. Venny and Nyx Nu come to mind. They are great players who are dedicated to getting better, and have week after week shown progress. I am very proud of our D6'rs.
Without D6 we never would have found these players nor would they have had the chance to improve.
That said, It is a bit much to have to prepare two seperate squads every week. I don't know how to improve it. The other issue with D6's is that it was meant to be fun, however it is tied to D8 and the points from D6 are crucial toward winning the entire league. In my opinion, D6 should not have had any point value associated with it.

While organizing has meant a lot of time and effort, I have personally had a lot of fun getting to know our D6 squad. I agree that we've found some PvP'rs that have really gotten into what we're doing and have grown in knowledge and ability, so regardless of league drama or whatever, the league has definitely been successful in at least 1 way IMO.
Tying the D6 and D8 points together has its pros and cons. On one hand, it forced some teams to really work with draftees that might never have seen the mentoring they've received otherwise. On the other hand, I'd guess that there has been some discouragement of some newer players from teams because of their potential to hurt line-ups and, in turn, overall standings. If there's a second league, it's something we should really try to work on...whether it's separating divisions, changing point scoring, changing player drop guidelines, or whatever else.
I can most definitely say that I will not be running a Season 2. And considering the fact that prior to the PvPEC starting the league there was a huge gap of organized PvP, I would wager that the community wouldn't run another, at least not for a while.
In regards to D6, it was what had to be done. The community before The League wasn't in a state that would allow a ladder to form, let alone a league with more than 4-5 teams. This was a new format we developed to accomodate the dismal state of the PvP community and IMO it has worked wonders. The idea was for D8 level players to teach new players in order for us to have a solid foundation for a ladder after The League. The point values assigned to D6 are also critical to the process. D8 is required to school their D6 if they want to have a shot at winning The League and D6 has to try in order to do the same and know their work isn't for naught.
Does anyone know what the standings are now?
I predict that a surprisingly large amount of people quit after the league ends.

There wouldnt be a need for d6 if more people would step up and be willing to lead a team. The d6 teams are the only ones that havent had drama and stuck around. There are a bunch of really talented individuals in d6 right now and I would miss having d6 people to teach but then again i wont be here for a league or ladder. If everyone stuck around that pvps and played another league or ladder you could field a good 8 teams in d8 the only problem is that there arent 8 people willing to lead. Second problem those of us who have lead in this one will probably quit the game or atleast not be in the league #2.
If only there was a last hope for pvp.
I`ve really enjoyed this league and aside from some of the drama that always happens, imo it has been great.
Hoping for a season two or a ladder at some stage.
