Unless you're tru warrir!

Just saying.

agreed.

kat may have downs syndrome, but the rules allow for that.
if you have an issue with line-ups, ATs and such, take it up with PVPEC.

Hey! Isn't Kat the leader of said organization?

They played the same thing against U2BG. And, Kat admitted as much- they were playing for a tie. And, despite whatever adjective you want to describe it- it's perfectly legal. If you don't think that you can beat the other team, why not play for the tie and get the extra points?

It may not be how you or I would play it, but I can certainly see the train of thought behind it.

Kat's using similar logic to dUmb's- given that you'll probably not do that great straight up jump v jump, play something different. Besides psi/ems are boring.

Infinity and Victory mostly
dUmb, etc.

Yeah, I'm not offended anyway, but dUmb's goal is definitely not to create lag. We're still pretty lolzy with Jump teams, so the targetting and storm disruption has produced our best chances at winning.

The rescheduling thing is certainly not fun, which is why we stated we wouldn't be rescheduling any more-just too difficult to get people together for us on unofficial league nights. I don't think a lot of people realized until fairly recently that last night's match was going to be on Easter Sunday. I can see the points from every side, honestly: short notice may've been the best the one team could've done, since maybe individual players had short-notice, rl plans; on the other hand, some on the other team could've shortened plans or changed them in order to make it because of no mention earlier of postponing.

All the problems from last night stemmed from lack of foresight when the rules and schedule was created. And that's not meant to bash the efforts of the people that collectively came up with that stuff-just that some things are always going to either be forgotten or not thought of when getting something like this together, regardless of how thorough you think you're being. What we're left with now, though, are teams from different sides that are going to be miffed about taking losses for reasons they will argue are not right...whether by stated, written rules or by what those rules were meant to achieve when written (but failed to do so).

Wrong, I contacted Divine 2 days before bringing it to his attention that there could be an issue. He didnt even realize that there was a match sunday and it was easter. He didnt come and actually ask for postponement intill sunday at 2am est. So 19 hours before the match was scheduled to start.

I do think it was unfair of Divine to give such short notice to Dex about rescheduling after several people already sacrificed their own RL plans to show up to a video game event.

Anyways, what's done is done. What we did cant be anymore of a "Dickmove" then what Kat's team tried to do to force us to not gain points running a line up that was clearly focusing on forcing a Tie, or the lagfest lineup that dUmb is running.

-Kiri
You kids are pretty bad for doing a 2v8 with divine's team of all teams.

Trying to compare it what other teams have done to tie or beat you is pretty bad also.

You guys are just bad.

Kat has told me she runs the crazy line ups so as not to get blown out. We offered to run fun line ups vs you all if you agreed to not run a taunt line up. That offer was not accepted so we brought a team that would beat even a 3 emp 5 taunter line up. ALSO that is not the SAME team that was run vs u2bg the team vs u2bg was 2 emps 2 stalkers 4 taunters (I say taunter because I dont wanna be forced to forfiet incase there were brutes instead of tanks) That line up was meant to get a win not a draw and it did. And you guys need to get some damn confidence in your jump team. You proved last night you dont have a bad jump team. Just get more practice on it. You guys have the most potential to improve, running taunting draw line ups isnt going to do that.

I agree about our Jump teams. The problem is getting everyone to show up. We tend to use the weird line ups when we don't have the right toons/people on. When everyone shows up we go for the kill, otherwise we have to adjust accordingly.

Not only do they have a "decent" jump team, but also running these so called "fun" line ups do not make people better at PvP. When this league is over what are they going to take away from the experience? It sure as hell isnt going to be Team PvP Skill..

I keep going back to the fact that the taunt buff did nothing but mask bad players on a team. You can now put a bad player on a bag of HP with specific Psi resistance and if they dont have downs they can run around autofollowing someone while putting one power on autofire and never die.

It teaches bad habits just as regen teaches players bad habits in zone.

Anyways, I was bored at work today, thanks all for playing along with my troll posts.

Have a good night.

Kat also told you that she does not pick the lineups. The team discusses and votes on them. Therefore I do not have the ability to make side deals obviously.

The fact that anything that isn't 2emps/5psi/ems & a rad or 6psi/em's isn't considered a valid lineup is retarded. While I will agree that pure taunt lineups are not teaching much in the way of skill neither is getting crushed 30-zip because we don't have the right people on. Teaching people to be good on nothing but FOTM's isn't exactly productive either. We have people that are good on a variety of different toons but we can't bring them because they will get ***** by the 5-6 psi/em lineup that seems to be the only "legit" lineup ever brought. The only reason we attempt to force a tie is when we know we don't have the team on to competively fight with a jump team.

When we faught you guys last week we attempted to play "legit" lineups. You guys opted to play a lineup that would guarantee your win against any lineup we might bring. Dex told me that was because we couldn't be trusted not to bring some gai lineup. Your lineup was not traditional nor was it something you typically play but you brought it as a tactical measure to keep us from winning or tieing. Some how that is ok but us doing the exact same thing is gai? The means may be different but the end result is the same, bringing what lineup you think will get you the most points possible.

Because being good at pvp is required to lead a team. The fabulous thing about this is you are absolutely right, I am a bad leader. I don't lead anything. I am a cheerleader and organizer for my team, essentially they lead themselves and make their own decisions. I think they are doing pretty damn good for being a team with 1 bad leader, 1 leader who hasn't been able to be there and 1/2 their starters MIA for most of the season.

was it 8 tanks or 8 brutes?..because you know you have to bring a totally different line up if you thought they were tanks and it turns out they were brutes.

I approve. Its a good thing you said Elec tank if you had said dark tank and then ran an elec brute you woulda had to forfiet all your matches ever played.

Yeah Kat you told us you didnt make the line ups and the team does which is kinda the way we do it here too. I usually suggest a line up and then get feedback. And please dont get me wrong, I am all for different line ups from the standard 2 emps 1 rad 5 blast. We just dont like a non competitive line up such as 5 taunters 3 emps. Not saying its not fair or illegal just we dont like it and our oppinion of your line ups really doesnt matter thats why its YOUR line ups but ill qq in a private channel about that . You will never hear me complain about a team trying to get an upper hand via an obscure line up as long as its competitive. Like dUmb rocking the MMs vs us on the tech lab that was just out smarting us they deserved the win, and they racked up a bunch of kills with the line up.

Kiri - honestly, dom doesn't even run lagfest....try playing against 3 thug mms in lab vs a good team and get back to me, not to mention if you are lagging they are lagging too...try to have a computer not made of wood next time, but yea, don't be a tru warrir (call me honey)

And I don't see a team that doesn't think they can win going more defensive, but I think it is completely against what this should be about if they really were going for the tie rather than the small loss if any / tie / MAYBE win

Also, 5 taunter is a legit lineup...5x Hurl before procs, buffs and res is 2200 damage or so :P

I love how people keep saying we run lagfest MM lineups when we have run more than 1 mm in 1 round of 1 official so far....even mah stormie is a corr, not no lame mm

The idea that refusing a reschedule is a dirty move is hurtful to the league, and really needs to be left behind. Being asked to reschedule is always a guaranteed lose-lose situation. Either you refuse and now you're known as the dirty squad of the league, or you accept, and are forced to scrabble together a lineup on short notice that will almost certainly be less competitive and will not reward the players who put in the work and effort to earn a playing spot on the proper league night.

If there is a next season, it would be nice to have mid-season and end-of-season off weeks, during which rescheduled matches could be played on the regular league night, so that teams can actually plan to be available for a rescheduled match with some advance notice.

Also, trying to shame your opponents into bringing a lineup you know you can beat with lame forum posts is probably the gaiest strategy attempted in the league yet - a thousand times gaier than an all-taunter draw lineup, and a million times gaier than a totally legit MM lineup.
