Discussion: Free Character Transfers extended until February 28th!

Good news! Due to popular demand, free Character Server Transfers have been extended until February 28th (at 11:59 p.m. PST / 2:59 a.m. EST / 11:59 p.m. GMT / 00:59 Central European Time)!

We know a lot of you have been using the service to hop between servers to participate in in-game events, meet up with friends, or just explore and experience new communities. We also know that you've been asking for the opportunity to continue doing it! So, consider your wish granted for another month.

For those of you who haven't fully taken advantage of this limited time offer, here are a few things you should bear in mind before initiating a character transfer to a different server:

• Transfers are not available between North American and European servers.
• You will be able to complete up to 6 transfers a week (7-day period) per account.
• Not all possessions will transfer over with your character so be sure to read the corresponding Knowledge Base article (US or UK) before you decide to transfer a character.
• Super-group affiliation, Prestige and access to your Supergroup base items will be lost.
• You may lose your character's name when transferring from a server.

omg omg omg, thank you! I was rushing to get some of my toons prepped for transfers. This saves me and my wife both a lot of headaches.

I'll just go ahead and request that this is kept up indefinitely. It's very nice being able to move a character over to participate in an event, then move it back to home server.

I think that this is a great offer.

I don't know if I'll move anymore characters. Only really moved one that bounced around a couple of times.

I ended up buying some slots for Xmas. So I still have a 3 slots left and 1 open on Virtue.
Though it is tempting, I don't think I'll be using the slots to make room on other servers or the one on Virtue in order to move 4 of my characters off of Freedom even though I rarely to there to play any more. It would be abandoning the others that would be left there.

If moving a character moved the slot with it, I would be tempted to move all my characters off of Freedom. Too bad I couldn't move the sg along with them too.

Although I can't really use this feature much... it is a great thing to have available a little longer. I have loved being able to rename some of my characters with it.

So in CoH we're continuing to get for free a feature we expected to pay for, whereas in a Certain Other game they're having to pay for a feature they expected to get for free.
