A Monster in Dark Astoria?
I have no clue. Never seen anything like it. Might just be a trick of the fog but I gotta check it out. Looks like somethin' outta Godzilla

Fascinating. I wonder if Nethergoat has ever seen it. I wonder if it is an effect they added to the mist rather than something in the zone you can interact with?

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
I'd be really interested to get a Dev response to this. I'll be hunting tonight on Triumph if anyone wants to join.

Something just doesn't seem right here. I'm not accusing the OP of lying, but the graphics on that monster almost look too good for CoX.
Since I've never heard anything at all about this, I'm not sure what I can say. I'll remain skeptical unless I see more evidence. =/

That's just my blaster. Sorry I spooked you.
Good photo-shopping work there. I knew that those graphics were too good. =P

Looking at the image and importing it into Photoshop it appears to be originally a different resolution than the rest of the image... it also appears as if a smoothing filter was applied to the "monster" (Gamera maybe?) but not to the rest of the image.
There's a considerable mismatch in pixel size of the monster and the building next to it.
Pretty nice blending job, but it looks an awful lot like a bit of photoshop compositing. The primary image is 800x600 @72dpi... the monster appears to be roughly double that resolution originally with a blur filter added.
I'm not a photoshop expert, but I do use it frequently in my real job in video production... I'm quite familiar with compositing methods. If it's real I'd be quite surprised.

I knew it wouldn't take you computer sleuths too long to figure this one out. Yes, I want a giant monster in DA. I had an original posting on having a no fog day then got this idea of adding a cloverfield type monster roaming about..hehe. Think about it, how scary would it be when you're flying minding your own business going to your mish in DA and thinking your about to run into a building only it is Lizzy, the Giant Turtle Monster!..hehe. Okay that was fun. Merry X-Mas everyone. This would have been good for April Fools Day maybe.
Awww...oh well, glad I checked this thread again before I wasted my time hunting around the zone.
Nice work and I'd definately be behind a gargantuan lizard beast roaming through the fog. It'd really add a scare factor that Dark Astoria is always grasping at but never quite manages. Just the thought of it makes me hesitate to go blundering through the zone without a good team at my back.

...So...
Yeah, even just glancing at the picture posted by the OP it was rather obvious the 'monster' was at a much higher resolution than the rest of the image.

2) I've seen it without the fog. One patch (over a year ago) 'broke' the fog and eliminated it completely. It was weird being able to see stuff.

Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

Was flying around getting ready to leave DA as I was somewhat close to the exit and I just happened to turn around and to my surprise I saw something behind the buildings. I was able to take a quick snapshot before it disappeared into the night fog. Not sure what it was as I spent the next hour looking for it again but no luck in finding what the heck I saw. Based on the image, it kind of looks like half turtle and some kind of giant lizard. Not sure? Anyone else see this?
