A Monster in Dark Astoria?
I love the Silent Hill series. It is in my opinion the creepiest video game series ever made.

Thanks for the picture and effort. That zone really does need a great
Monster or Themed Encounter to ramp up the SpOokY Factor and make
the location POP.
Note: I realize this is an old forum post, but I've got a lot to catch up on
being fairly new to the forums and all.

The zone has a giant monster.. it's called Adamastor. He's a huge stomping lizard demon thing that lives in the graveyard.

Uh... Adamastor is a huge zombie thing. o.O

And Aggie is using the term "huge" loosely. He's one of the smallest GM's. I think only the Ghost of Scrapyard is smaller.

Scrapyard and Deathsurge are both smaller, but Adamastor is huge compared to a character (like 3-4 times bigger)

You know...the more I think about it, the more I think it'd be really cool to have giant figures that appear in the fog randomly around the zone, but disappear when you try to get close to them. I think it would really add to Dark Astoria's atmosphere. :O
To this 4/4 beat, I'm in time with you. To this 4/4 beat, I would die for you. Your lovesick melody is going to get the best of me tonight, but you won't get to me 'cause I won't sing.
Look on the bright side. At least it has human-size figures that appear in the fog and disappear when you get too close.

I'm glad my post has generated so much buzz. I think the thing I sometimes also think about when venturing into Dark Astoria is the Playstation games I had called Silent Hill. I've played them all and I remember the guy at the video store said to me that I will be scared out of my pants if I turned all the lights off and played that game. He was right. The fact that you really can't see what's around the corner was the creepy part. So, maybe having a Giant Monster roaming about Dark Astoria might not be that bad after all.
