3rd Annual Mr. and Ms. Paragon City/Rogue Isles Costume Contest
I've entered this contest every year for the past three years. Each time with a different character on a different server. Liberty, Pinnacle, and this year Virtue. The only real problem I saw while I was there was the difficulty getting into Pocket D 1.
I entered , told em if I won id post that I won with my ERPing Futa catgirl , so im really hoping I win so I can write a thank you note from my character to PERC and explain how a life of prostitution has given me the strength and courage needed to enter so I could win a costume code for my babbies daddy.

I'll start off by saying it was a great joy to see so many well designed costumes. It's really only during these larger costume contests that I see a good amount of people trying their hardest to look their best.
I'd also like to say, good job on handling the overcrowding of D1. I was wondering how that was going to work out, but seeing as I was able to get back in after I D/Ced (stupid D/C) without having to sit by a portal and keep checking if a space opened up, I'd say it went decently enough.
As for the whole "no powers" issue, it shouldn't be to hard to add sentence or two saying "Powers and pets are not allowed for X reason" next year on in the announcement posts. For people who see this and plan ahead, it should be helpful.
Of course, there will always be the walk-ins and for them, I'd say it's one of those "tough luck" situations. But hey, that's the nature of being a walk in.
Personally, from what I saw (most of the event, except for about half the male hero judging when I D/Ced...) things ran fairly smoothly.
Then again, I used to work for the federal government, so almost anything runs smoother than they do...
Yep I was on WitchBrand , I was fine with the contest and hadn't seen too much of a reason to post until reading the PERC reps comments a few posts back .
I had a good time at this CC and thought PERC handled it well. It was great to see so many good looking heroes and villains in one spot. Not sure what all the moaning about powers is for. It's a costume contest, not a "look at my pink fire!" contest.
Thanks PERC and good luck to everyone.
I was there and I thought everything went wonderfully. I'm actually thrilled that it was such a success. Widescale player run events are worth the effort.
Anyway A question that was never answered:
How are the Walk-In's being organized after judging. You have no information on them and since sign ups have been closed. If a walk in wins will their character name simply be posted while you wait for them to contact you?

I know at one point I saw a PERC announce that the winner would be announced on the forum, but that was at the very end and if that's the only time it was announced, there are probably many who don't know to do such a thing.

We will post the winners on these forums and there will be set rules to follow from there.

Darn.
I was hoping there'd be one category for those people who took the trouble to register and a second category for those who just rocked up on the day.
Ah well.
Well done those people who won.
Good luck in the finals.
PS: Anyone take screenshots? I took some shots of the registered Ms. Rogue Isles aspirants, but nothing of everyone else.

Congrats to the winners and runner ups (or is it runners up?).
I also second the desire to see screenies. Didn't take many myself...
OMG I won?! Well, runner up anyway...
Dr.Grindhouse was pretty cool tho! Great choice!
we have screenshots of all participants... I myself didn't do Virtue's but hopefully they will be available in the near future...

(OOC):
Player of Freedom Darling here, wanted to say thank you to everyone involved, and I would adore to put up a screenshot for you but I can not find how in these forums, to be very honest.
@Basque
COngrats to the winners. Nice to see a couple of names I recognize up there.
Now I can go back to being the ultimate loser. *Stays away from ICON as much as possible*

As last years Virtues Server and overall winner for Ms Rogue Isles, I'd like to congratulate everyone involved. PERC for organizing this and to all the participants for putting yourselves out there for judging. Its a brave thing. To the winners good job!
Also just for the record my entry Clockwork Bride, was a walk in.

I'll share too :P This was my Bane Spider, Czarina, in her tribute to the Cossacks.
I'm just wondering, what is the point of even registering at all if all the winners this year were walk-ins? Doesn't seem fair to me. But whatever, it's your CC.

Also, I have to wonder what Level characters some are. I know a few of the winners and they are normal Virtue players, but if some of the winners are too low a level, then you have to ask if they weren't made by people from other servers just to win the contest here cause their friends were the judges, and they didn't register or post here so they would not be found out.
I am not saying this is the case, just a set of possibilities.
I seriously would like a few more rules laid out before hand next year including a ruling on Powers in use, and a level clarification. I personally lthink that you must be over level 20 to enter into a contest like this, but that is just my opinion.
Needless to say, congrats to those who did win.

Well, if you are having people pre-register in the first place, I don't think it's fair to exclude them from winning by having walk-ins win. Pick the winners from the people who took the time to register.

Not everyone reads the forums frequently enough to have known about the contest. I didn't know about it until that night when people in the D's broadcast channel were talking about it. I think the point of registering beforehand should be for the purpose of providing contact information and making it easier to get ahold of the person if they won. Otherwise, it's not fair to tell 90% of the people in the Pocket D on virtue that they can't participate because registrations are closed.

Bottom line, winners won because they had a better costume. If that wasnt you...get over it.
I entered , told em if I won id post that I won with my ERPing Futa catgirl , so im really hoping I win so I can write a thank you note from my character to PERC and explain how a life of prostitution has given me the strength and courage needed to enter so I could win a costume code for my babbies daddy .
The PERC costume contest was just as miserably run as just about every costume contest the only difference is that they (PERC) were provided with swag for their event by the powers that be (most costume contests by their very nature are horrid monstrositys that should be entered warily if at all ) .
"well run your own costume contest "
im sure all of us would run more costume contests if we had a sugardaddy or sugarmommy providing us with special things to hand out .
"well run more events !"
we (Virtue ) do quite regularly in fact so im still unsure why events held on Virtue get a two finger salute unless you are a member of PERC or can events run on Virtue also ask for costume codes for their event or is that only something one aqquires from a "special " relationship with the powers that be .
"well don't enter our event if you don't like how its run "
hey if the powers that be are gonna give out free swag to some group of grouchy so and so's who start grumbling after questions are asked about how their event is run i'll happily enter and give you the ol two finger salute while doing so .
(which if you remember from virtues first meeting with PERC the powers that be told us that PERC would get no perks that any other player couldn't get so remember to hit up the powers that be for costume codes to give out at your next costume contest )
(Edited to replace ranting for grumbling , felt it flowed better )
