3rd Annual Mr. and Ms. Paragon City/Rogue Isles Costume Contest
Just a thought about next year...
What will be done when it comes time to do the Mr. and Mrs. Paragon City/Rogue Isles after Going Rogue is live?
I mean, it will be possible to have a villain/rogue as Mr./Mrs. Paragon City. Same could be said about a hero/vigilante becoming Mr./Mrs. Rogue Isles.
That also brings into speculation about how Mr. and Mrs. Loyalist and Resistance will be handled...
The results of someone becoming Mr. Paragon City, while being a Rogue or Villain in disguise could be catastrophic!
((On a serious note: Just a question.. can a Hero AT class character, who plays a villain in Paragon, be a part of the villain costume contest? Same Vice-Versa? Because, it might not suit the character to have "Mr. Paragon City" title over the name, Baddy O'Baddinson or Victor the Villain. Like "Mr. Rogue Isles" wouldn't be suitable for Superhero Jones.
If it's not currently a disqualifier for the PERC event, could it be considered to be allowed? I mean, Virtue is big on it's RP strictness. There are heroes in the Rogue Isles like there are Villains in Paragon. Plus, this issue would probably have to be examined for next year when heroes and villains will freely be able to move about in between both places.))

Yes, we realize this issue will have to be reexamined next year depending on the new challenges Going Rogue will bring. However, for this year, those that are of a Hero Archetype will only be invited to enter the Mr./Ms. Paragon City contest and those of a Villain Archetype will only be invited to enter the Mr./Ms. Rogue Isles contest. Participants are NOT being judged on the heroic or villainous nature of their costume, but simply the creativity, quality, and originality of it. In the question and answer portion(if a character moves on), participants will be able to score just as highly with a vigilante hero as with a squeaky clean good-doer, again the QUALITY of the answers is what matters! Please think of the title that the winner will receive as more of a title of where the character resides rather than a declaration of his or her moral stature.

You really need to get your rules together instead of throwing them up after people spent their time planning on it.
If you are not going to allow power auras because of the animations, then you need to clarify that in advance because it might be a key point to a characters costume.
Example: A level 15 named "The Flaming Match" can not use a fire sheild aura. He's not allowed costume fire auras till level 30. So, basically, he's shut out of the costume contest because of a last minute ruling.
Any and all powers require an animation.. sword, gun, shield, etc. If you are going to single out the types of powers, last minute, instead of saying, "no powers of any kind," just shows that this is another year that PERC can't get their stuff together.
A player drawing a weapon gives an advantage to a player not allowed to use another weapon. In both cases the weapon is a key part of the costume, regardless of a last minute decision. It's no different than someone activating Fire Shield or another weapon because it still uses the same resources that the player drawing a weapon uses.
You can say that the shield and swords are costume pieces, yes. My point is that the only way that they can be seen is if a power is activated.

Thanks for hosting the contest, though I do have to agree with Commander about regarding your No Powers rules. Had I known about that particular caveat, I'd have not used it and would've picked up an aura instead. A little clarification ahead of time would've been much appreciated.

Are we really surprised there were problems again this year? I participated the previous two years and was extremely annoyed. So I avoided it this time. It only makes people mad and upset.
