  1. I enjoy the fact that people talk to my new scrapper more often when she's wearing a classic style outfit, than when she's showing skin.

(As a sidenote, I think I'm going to give her a breast reduction. Someone randomly gave me money today, just for having breasts...)

So when do I get my influence? I've got a Tanker who needs the funds right about now...

No, we did not just lay there making snow angels.
People did well and hosp'd if I couldn't rez them.
But I was the main healer, and when I went down, things quickly went downhill.
Which, as I said before, was not unexpected.

    Quote:
Now, that you're all at the hospital station, the Northern Lights and Lord Winter come to you and you've created your own hospital spawn camp.

So, what to do about it?

    1. When you are defeated, go immediately to the hospital and run immediately away from the hospital so you don't bring agro there. Let the other teammates keep LW's agro where he is. Even if they soon follow you to the hospital, you're now away from the hospital drawing agro away from it.
It's a little hard to get out the door when you have Northern Lights pelting you before you can even get your defenses up...
And when the healer/shielder snuffs it, and the whole team ends up in the hospital, there is nobody to keep LW's aggro away from the hospital.

    Quote:
    2. When you die, you have the option of going to your base as well as hospital. No one on the team had a base with a rez-ring?
That would have only been useful had we been able to predict that LW would saunter on over to the hospital to squish us as we rezzed.
Obviously by the time LW was spawn killing us, we knew we had no chance and rezzed more for the giggles of the situation than to honestly try and get up and away.
Like I said, I ended up with so much debt just because I found it so amusing.

    3. Giant Monsters were designed to be content for more than one team. Can some single teams defeat a GM? Yes. If a single team can't defeat a GM, is that a bug or design flaw? No. In other words, there's nothing to complain about here.
I believe I did mention we knew that it might be difficult, meaning, we knew we had little to no chance of taking LW down. I'm not complaining about that at all.

    Quote:
If you had two full teams and you're all wiping at exactly the same time (yes, 16 simultaneous deaths) and you all simultaneously go to the field hospital which drags GM agro to it... then I'd say there was something wrong. But if you only have one team, and they all decide to wait for each other to go to the hospital at once, then, this is a strategy you should change. Not an AI problem the Devs need to fix.
Your assumption that we're all fools who wait for each other to die before rezzing aside, are you saying that you think it's okay for the hospital area to be a danger zone?
Just because one team had high hopes of taking on a GM?
So what if we were the only team.
In my mind, the hospital is supposed to be a safe area, where a person can gather their wits without having to worry about being stepped on by a gigantic snowman.
Am I so wrong in thinking this?

Oh, and by the way, thanks for not being overly aggressive and treating me like I had half a brain... (And just so you know, and can't read into it wrong, that last statement is dripping with passive-aggressive sarcasm.)
  3. I find the AoE upgrade to be nice.
Once I get stamina, it's not to much of a problem, and if my T2s and T1s are dying quick enough that it becomes a problem... well, I obviously have other things to worry about.

As of recent, I've only had elevator problems in Arachnos bases. I find though that just standing there after I come out of the elevator (don't you dare touch your movement keys!), I seem to run into the problem less. This may just be my imagination however.
My main annoyance is the zone debuff... It keeps happening... Baaah.
  4. Ok. Makes sense. Thanks for the quick reply.
  5. Even though I'm not a vet, and there's plenty left in the game for me, this sounds interesting.

    Buuut...
One of the rules I find overly constricting and would keep me from joining (if I were to join. As I said, not a vet, still have plenty to do).

    Quote:
    * Members cannot solo after level 1 and must join the SG by level 2. More experienced characters cannot become members. They must start, survive, and grow within the SG.
Why can't a person solo after level 1? This makes it so you can't play, unless someone else is on. And if, like you said, you only have 10 or so regulars, who all have different schedules, this could make it fairly difficult for people to team. It also excludes those who have to play at what most consider "odd hours".
Plus, from story perspective, it just doesn't make sense. What keeps the members from going it on their own? As an RPer, I have to ask, what is the reason I wouldn't be able to solo?

    And just a question about:
    Quote:
Similarly, members must reject (if given the option) the application of a buff power upon themselves by a non-member.
I need clarification on this. Is this just so don't try and grab a quick buff before starting a mish?
  6. My team went to go take on Lord Winter.
We knew that we might only be the one team and therefor face some difficulty.
So for the first few minutes we sit about and try to damage Lord Winter to little avail. We just didn't have enough DPS and -regen.
Then, all of a sudden, out pop at least a dozen Northern Lights and we wipe.
    We wipe hard.
    But still, not totally unexpected.

Except the lights follow us to the hospital...
    ...
    And so does Lord Winter.

As you may imagine, this causes considerable problems as you can't even full stand up before you're dead again...

Just so you know Rednames, while this is rather hilarious, it's just as annoying.
We had a 0% chance of winning this. In fact, I'd say, judging by the debt we collected, we had a negative chance of winning.

I collected at least 433k debt in the space of a few minutes, but then again, I thought that dying before fully standing was hilarious, and kept hosping even though LW was standing right on top of me.

See, for me, the server status page has been saying that ever since Virtue and Guardian originally went down, so I can't trust that page at the moment.

    I think you're wrong.

The fact is, the Gala is just too much awesome for any single server, so when Virtue went down, the awesome transferred and took down other servers with less awesome-handling capabilities.

It's just to much awesome for a server to handle.
In fact, it's so awesome, it takes down several servers!
  10. I mapserved and tried logging back in, but got a DB Connection error.
I tried logging into Freedom and a couple others, and that worked.

    Westcoast servers down again? :P
I can't really tell, as the server status page has said Virtue has been down all morning, even though I've been playing on it.

EDIT: (Thanks for whenever you end up getting them back up BTW.)

I'm gonna go ahead and say you're out of luck for the night (eeeaarly morning? dark hours?).
It's 3:30am (Central) and it went down around... 10ish... I think... it's been a while...
    Soooo...
    Yeah...
  12. I'll say this first.
Fallout 3 is a quality game. Great story, beautiful environment and more.

That said, there was still something about it that just didn't pull me in fully.
I eventually got bored after a while and sold it to a friend (who loves it BTW).

I think I'm just probably a freak of nature.

  14. I'm too young (gamewise) to have spread beyond the first server I played...

  22. I'm fairly new to RPing, but I found the Pocket D to be rather helpful.

I mean, it might not be the best place for anything but casual RP, but it helped me find people to RP with outside of the D.
Plus you can go there and see people from S/VGs that are active. (God knows how many Abyss Empire people you'll see in one night...)
  23. Congrats to the winners and runner ups (or is it runners up?).

I also second the desire to see screenies. Didn't take many myself...

Anyway A question that was never answered:

How are the Walk-In's being organized after judging. You have no information on them and since sign ups have been closed. If a walk in wins will their character name simply be posted while you wait for them to contact you?
This would be good to know.

I know at one point I saw a PERC announce that the winner would be announced on the forum, but that was at the very end and if that's the only time it was announced, there are probably many who don't know to do such a thing.
