Mistery Gifts...seriously?

As I was testing the winter event tonight, it occured to me : The so-called Mystery Gifts one can obtain from clicking the presents in the streets are still giving 250 Influence.
First, there is nothing mysterious about them, we all know what we will receive. It's either 250 influence, or a temp power (winter beast I believe) or a piece of costume.
Second, 250 influence nowadays? Seriously?
Isn't it about time these presents got changed?
I believe anything would be better than the 250 Influence.

How about getting some extra candy canes, some random common salvage, or dare I dream, some random recipe? (Doesn't have to be rare, common or generic would suffice)

What do you all think?

Yes, I can see many merits being obtained by many players if this change were implemented.

Though an increase from 250 inf to a higher amount wouldn't hurt.

The problem with influence is that to improve it to a level where it'd actually mean something, you'd have to make it 100k+.

Not surprising though. A friend of mine got trash talked because he broadcasted in Atlas Park that he'd give 150,000 influence to the first person that found him.

Back in the spring I had someone give one of my toons 100K inf just for explaining how to bind a costume change. It doubled what I had on that toon. You didn't hear me complaining. It's all a matter of perspective.

Well my base rent is something like 4800 for a month.

So 250 is about 5% of that.

My house payment is $1800. 5% of that is $90.

Technically, if I'm doing the conversion right, 250 influence will buy 1/2 a prestige, which is what is used for your base upkeep. If you'd bought your base upkeep prestige with influence, it'd cost you 2,400,000 influence. Meaning that a single gift is about 0.01% of what you owe.

But then again, buying prestige is a ripoff anyway.

Actually assuming they don't change it this year if you open the present in SG mode you get 250 prestige instead. I really like this since 250 prestige is quite a bit more than 250 inf you get rewarded for being unselfish and giving to your SG which seems to be very much in th espirit of the holidays.

It's funny you say you know what's in it, and then go on to say you're not sure.

Anyway, I always found 250 inf to be kind of insulting. 250 inf is pretty pointless to just about anyone. I know it would be a bad idea to give out tons of free cash no matter how you look at it, so I'd rather see something else. Anything but 250 inf.

I'd be happy to see it swapped out for a random large inspiration, a +4 Boss-level influence drop or a random common pool A recipe. If you're in SG mode it'd be nice to have it grant maybe 1,000 prestige.

You didn't spell "mystery" correctly...

Other than that I believe it should definitely give better random rewards than it does now.

Speaking personally, I much prefer the 250 prestige. However, I would like to eventually get myself a frickin' jingle jet. Would you believe I've never, EVER won one in the mystery gift giveaways? It's always prestige.

Ins't 250 Inf about the same price as certain Inspirations from vendors? We get Insps with Halloween, so the Inf equivalent is just as good IMPO.

I'd rather get inspirations. It's like giving out coins on Halloween. You're just adding a step to the candy-consuming experience.

I have a few characters that are still holding on to their mystery gift from last year. I plan on opening them just before this year's event starts. I know that, at worst, I'm getting a "gift card" of 250 inf. Maybe, with a bit of luck, I'll get a jingle jet or some other nifty. And, the best part is, I can get another present a few days later when they recycle.
