The cynic in me looked at the MA as a way the devs could let players 'take care of themselves' content-wise, whilst the devs could let such things go and allocate the resources to bigger, more distant things. (Like Going Rogue.)

Unfortunately, some penalties on that system scared away genuine writers, so the MA has gone by the wayside, and the pressure is back on them to make their own content, even as I'm betting they have diverted some resources to further-term assignments.

And oddly enough, we now have red names trying their best to get people using the MA again. Hmmmm.....

Yeah, I'm doubting that we will have an in-between issue, and that the push for AE involvement will get more and more evident...

No idea what they're GOING to put in, plus I think it's been answered already. I've already been toying with the idea in my brain of them somehow allowing Heros to switch over to the dark side, but they have already announced the "going rogue" think which really excites me. What would TOTALLY kick "a" is the following:

1) A friggin X plane option for the Super Group bases. Seriously, why does my LCD have to be on the floor and who leaves candles just hanging out on the ground instead of on a table?
(in before "magic table")

2) The ability to move objects and choose spawn points and ambush point in Mission Architect. Wouldn't that be killer? I mean, they'd have to do it in a way that doesn't completely screw up the randomizing factor of the maps that we love, but alot of the maps are hardly random anyways, especially if you're playing on x8 difficulty, it seems like the same thing over and over.

3) I like that you can drop a mission once every 3 days and get credit for it, I DON'T like that you can't drop the rest of your missions once you do so. There's nothing worse than having 4 missions at your level, hooking up with a team, and then finding out all the missions are still at level 10, and now you're a big bad level 20. Oh, and also it's gonna take 12 days for you to get all of those off your missions list. Leave in the one mission CREDIT per 3 days, take out the one mission ONLY for 3 days.

Anyways, I'll probably post more once it comes to mind, but agreed I really do wonder what they're gonna do next. I LOVE LOVE LOVE i16, I think the power spectrum is one of the coolest things ever and people have been asking for it for a while.
This is a great game and I love watching it get better and better.

Even if i17 does come with Going Rogue, I'm still curious as to what it will contain *for free* rather than the paid expansion Going Rogue.

Initially yes, whether or not it may become "free" like CoV became after a few years remains to be seen. But for now it is indeed a paid for expansion. That is why, as the beta/release date gets closer, you'll see more and more threads asking/demanding for more content for the players unable to pay for the expansion [one of the main draws for Co* was the fact that quality updates were indeed free].

It is highly possible though that a few of the main features of GR will indeed be available to all players from launch. Ultra mode graphics is a prime example.

What would I like to see? I would like to see a hefty portion of this coming issue dedicated to the much-unloved Supergroup bases. Don't get me wrong, I fully appreciate the reduced prices and elimination of Base Salvage. But one must admit that our bases are getting old and musty, having long since lost that new base smell.

Long story short: We need a ton of new stuff to burn Prestige on. I don't care what it does or doesn't do, in fact I would acctually prefer useless decorative items to cram in every corner of my base. I am of the opinion that shiney base stuff is just as important as new costume pieces, and while we have recieved numerous costume pieces even in recent memory we've gotten diddly squat for bases.

Please, please, and a thousand times please. The Prestige cost cut left us with bloated coffers and nothing to buy with it, it's about time to take advantage of this fact!

I wouldn't be surprised if Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning were a part of the regular issue, rather than the paid portion. Access to the new zones and storylines is probably paid only, including the entire process of side switching. I'll bet Going Rogue will see some major revisions of how Patron and Ancillary pools work, which will be for everyone. Beyond that, it's hard to say.

Issue 6's main contributions to people who didn't pick up CoV were hero-side access to the first three PvP zones and.. err.. Enhancement Diversification, correct? I recall Base access being restricted to CoV customers, and a few villain-only costume items, as far as CoV stuff that touched directly on the existence of CoH, unlike the new ATs, PvE zones and storylines.

From what I've heard, there isn't an Issue before GR goes live - but they might be able to put out a smallish one, especially if they can get the graphics update done before GR launches.

Which must mean *dun dun dun duuuun* Issue 17 will be before GR.

So what in the world is going to be in it?

Since NCSoft took over they have been doing nothing but giving us everything we ever asked for. So what else is on that list?

I for one would love to see CROSS SERVER PVP. But, is the "Tech" for that even possible? Is the City Vault going to come to fruition? Will we be bombarded with new costume pieces? More color choices? New places to put those costumes? Moon Zone? Will lolVillains finally get a new zone?

Do you have speculation?
I speculate the following :
1. More stuff for the bored players hanging out under Atlas like : ants to step on, butterflies flying around and rabbits jumping here and there
2. Some additions to existing maps like : whales and dolphins in the waters surrounding Paragon, a public toiled in Atlas Park (some of us really have to go sometimes), darts and pool in Pocket D, bigger monsters in Monster Island, an icecream truck around Atlas park aswell as a hotdog stand.
3. Vehicles. Cars, trucks, a banana-mobil, busses, bigger trucks and double decker busses, motorcycles, bycicles, trycicles, monocycles, pogo sticks, roller skates and ice skates. Later on upon request the devs will integrate the GTA game in CoX and even later on upon new requests they will integrate the Need For Speed game mechanics in CoX.
4.New travel powers : Slingshot and Catapult. And each zone might have its own human cannon as an alternative to the trains
5. New character stances or poses ( or however they're named) like walking on all four limbs, running on your knees, crawling like a snake.
6. New powersets. Altough it has been officialy announced that water based sets will never happen, probably due to water being harmless or making female characters breasts show up through their costumes there is still hope for jellow , soda and air based powersets. As well as new Drunken Master powerset for scrappers. And the obvious Single pistol, dual shotgun, triple swords, Axe throwing, wrestling and water baloons powersets across archetypes.
New weapons like wooden swords, light sabers for scrappers and tankers and The BFG for devices blasters are also probably to be implemented in the next issue.
6. Asimetry. So we can have asimetric breasts and one limb bigger than the other.
7. Further character customization. We'll probably be able to customize other players costumes and biography.
8. Markets will be merged. With Wall Street. That way we can make some money off this game and show them who the real players are. Nasdaq beware!
9. Unfortunately the ''tech'' necessary for cross-server pvp is not here BUT rumor has it that we'll have cross-game pvp. For starters we'll be able to pvp with CO players and show'em who's their daddy and after we're done with them we'll move onto WoW noobz, each issue alowing us to pick on every mmo out there.
10. Moooore character customization so we can have bigger lips, visible toes and fingers with their respective nails that will get their own patterns. Ankle bracelets , tongue piercings and toe rings.
11. Tronkles, twinklorz, fongles and oodels of toodels are expected also.
12. New emotes. Crunk,breakdancing and society dances as new dance moves. Being able to beatbox while you boombox, reading more than newspapers ... Like playboy and hustler (time magazine also)
13. And of course interactive emote : give other players wedgie, set another player's cape on fire, push your team mates of a building ...etc
14. Gameplay inovations for lowlevel characters like being able to defeat the Clockwork paladin by jumping on its back and ripping off some wires.
15. A new taskforce that requires 48 hours to complete
16. Influence cap raised to 17 trilions
17. From the creators of the Vines pattern we'll now get the Lines pattern. And more shoulder costume pieces like purses and man-purses. As well as a few crosseyed faces.
18. Accuracy will be nerfed again. Fire/kinetics will get the Repel power as inherent and always on.
19. A moon base, saturn base, mars base and a sun base. it is suspected we could also get a center of the earth base and a Mordor base.

The good news is that the Moon Base is coming in Issue 17.

The bad news is that the teleporters to get you there are coming in Issue 25.

By the way, while the first info from Hero Con said there was no I17 before GR, later info said there woulkd be an issue before GR - so I think the only answer right now is "maybe"

I have 1 tincy wincy QoL thing I'd like sorted, When I open My Recipe List it would be extremely nice if the Memorised Recipe tab was closed unless otherwise wanted cos I get a tad miffed everytime I go to make Enhancements or check recipes and the Memorised IOs pop up all the time.

There were reports HeroCon attendees were told that there is nothing planned for bases before GR.

Basically: Everyone is working on GR except for the few things that they said they would debut in GR or earlier if they get it done earlier.

Possibly, and even unlikely, if any of them get 'free time' (e.g., they're waiting for another department to finish their part of the job before they can move forward), they *might* work on something else and that something else *might* be packaged with any on the non-GR stuff that *might* get done before GR is rolled out.

It would be best if everyone made plans that the only new stuff between now and GR is The Natural Booster Pack and The Winter Event with an added feature. Don't even count on the Spring Event to have anything new.

I think His Royal Sexiness is probably working on the Natural booster pack - Maybe Castle and BAB too, if it's got some power and new emotes in it.

There already was an Issue before GR... Issue 16. Patches and possibly zone revamps will be forthcoming I'll wager.

Zone revamps? Like what? The Devs said they put as much work into revamping Faultline and the RWZ as it would have been if they created a brand new zone. It's very labor intensive.

^^This. The above is based on the information we have at hand, as well as a rare thing called logic. It's unlikely we'll see another issue before Going Rogue and even if we do, it'll likely be very small and content-light.

I predict several more threads asking when Issue 17 is coming out and then, if it's not before Going Rogue, several threads complaining about it.

Some of us didnt go to HeroCon because we can't just up and go 3000 miles away.
Which means some of us didn't memorize the HeroCon videos we watched at like 3am.

So when i wonder about issue 17... its because HeroCon... didnt happen in Ohio, England, or Australia...
