Praetoian Loyalists! Report for Duty!
Godwin's law has nothing to do with how "reasonable" a comparison is. It's just that the longer the conversation goes on, the chances of Nazi's being brought in increases to inevitablity.

Trust the computer. The computer knows all.
I think this particular post might be a codicil to Godwin's. Comparing an actual fascist to the Nazis doesn't seem so unreasonable.

I'll prove my loyalty...
To a cause far greater than oppression. What a silly man, that embodiment of despotism fittingly dubbed Tyrant, to hide behind a mass of soulless individuals long since beguiled by propaganda, fear mongering, and radical Praetorian zealotry. |
It is not WE who are 'beguiled', I'm afraid...
There is no such thing as an "innocent bystander"
Worst security ever.
Praetoria has a better solution.
People like me.
For the Emperor.

GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

I am afraid the misguided souls in the "resistance" just don't get it.Praetoria is held to gether by the Emperor,if not for him and we who serve him then we would all be overrun by forces that wish to do harm to the populance.
Look at primal earth it is overrun with forces that do nothing but harm its citizenry, their very streets are overrun with outlaw forces, and with all their might the "heroes" of that world do little or nothing to curb the spread of such behavior. There are areas in their world that have parts of cities held by forces who kill, torture, experiment upon, and sacrifice their innocent citizens.Yet nothing is done by their "heroes" to eliminate these threats. We who have powers that serve your Emperor would lay down our vary lives to protect you the citizen.
Citizens do you honestly believe a resistance of malcontents can actually stop the threats of the Rikti or the Devouring Earth?I think not, they devote their time and energies at plotting mayhem and destruction of our utopia that Emperor Cole and we his loyal minions have fought so very hard for.Just to ensure that you,the citizen leads a happy, peaceful life.
Do not fret or fear though citizen,we Emperor Cole's loyal guard will ensure that no harm will befall you.We will crush the "resistance",we will repel the invasion of our world from alternate worlds or supposed alien conquerors.
In the end citizen we are here for you,by the grace of Emperor Cole.
Good day citizen, remember if your friends, family,or neighbors are acting suspiciously or discussing flagrant behavior then please contact a seer immediately. All reports are taken seriously and upon conviction a monetary reward will be issued for your help.
Long live the Emperor!
I quite like the Ziggursky Prison thank you...
For the exact reason you loyalist despise it...the...open door policy.
Well it's not so much an open door as an Arachnos flier landing in the courtyard and ferrying new free thinkers out of that 'democracy' called Paragon and into the Isles. Yes you do have to put up with Recluse but he keeps himself to himself most of the time plus I do own a hat of his...well it came off his future self and...it's a long story.
If a ruler is impressed enough that I beat him up and took his hat that he gives me free reign to do whatever I wish...I'm going to prefer him more. I mean I don't think Cole even has a hat does he?
If so I wish to steal it to prove a point and add it to my growing collection of 'things I stole off of people after defeating them using forcefields and robots'. See in free society I can have that collection, in Paragon or Praetoria I'm not allowed such a thing.
Plus Cole still doesn't have a hat...I can't stand a man who can't pick good headwear...
I'm not insane you know...
There are areas in their world that have parts of cities held by forces who kill, torture, experiment upon, and sacrifice their innocent citizens. |
Interesting, those are the same things that happen behind closed doors under Cole's orders. -ph1L0t1x

Ah yes I see...nothing.
More lies trying to spread the seeds of discord.
This "resistance" is laughable....
The information will come, when it is safe to reveal it. And it will never be safe for the people of Praetoria to speak freely as long as Cole and the Praetorian Guard are in power. But truth and freedom will both come, in time. -ph1L0t1x
I am very sorry to be reporting in late. I was busy rooting out the rebel threat. Needless to say I saved countless loyalist lives today.
Long live Emperor Cole!
I really, really, REALLY hope the visor thingy Mother Mayhem's minions are wearing will be a costume part of some sort. REALLY.
Waldrada, who's going to be a very fierce loyalist, would be very upset if it isn't. She's a scrapper. Broadsword/Shield.
Do you really want to see her upset? I didn't think so either.

The Invasion of the Bikini-clad Samurai Vampiresses from Outer Space? - Arc ID 61013
If players can join the Resistance or Tyrant's minions, then it's quite possible there'll be faction themed costume stuff to unlock for both sides - they've already said the Praetorian Clockwork stuff will be availbale to players.

The Resistance looks cooler.
I have a question for both sides of this.
I consider a graph. One axis is number of people. One axis is the amount of injustice and suffering.
Just as a graph of engine power is RPM and horsepower, the important part is how many squares are filled in, not how high the peak of horsepower is. THIS shows how usable your engine is under real world conditions. Not just that tiny little powerband at it's peak. A big fat curve beats the heck out of a hyperbola.
It is well known that there is suffering and injustice in all societies. As long as there are people there WILL be injustice and suffering. The government that causes the LEAST amount of suffering and injustice is best.
The question to me is how many squares are filled in in the graph. The Preatorian hyperbola curve of injustice and suffering, vs the fat curve of Primal Earth to me shows that the vast majority of humans on Preatoria have it better than their Primal Earth counterparts.
I mean I know it would seriously suck for the poor people in Mother Mayhem's place, and that sort of thing but......
The sheer NUMBER of people that suffer every bit as much, if not more is far greater in Primal Earth.
The Preatorians may be a sadistic nasty bunch, but the scale of suffering on Primal Earth. Yeesh!
I would propose that Preatoria IS as close to paradise as people can come, and still have people in it. For every poor soul suffering in Preatora, there are 1000s suffering just as much as on Primal Earth.Perhaps 10s of 1000s.
I'll see you your Mayhem's cruelty, and raise you a Vahzilok, a Circle, a Lost, and 2 Rikti wars!
I didn't even to need throw in a Crey, a Council, a Tsoo, or any Skulls, Hellions or Outcasts.
Do any of you truly understand the SCALE of misery that came from the Rikti wars alone? How many wept bitter tears because Nemisis didn't have his head popped like zit on Brass Monday?* How many shattered lives?
There is but ONE forbidden thing in Preatoria, and that is to oppose Cole. Preatoria is NOT totalitarian, but authoritarian. There is an important distinction. Cole cares not what you do unless you plan to challenge his rule.
You can sit on your lazy behind and never starve if you of a mind to live such an empty life. So be it
you lazy slug! There will always be the stupid and lazy. Get fat, and veg out.
My final question would be, other than trying to change who is in charge, what can you NOT do in Preatoria that you can in Primal Earth?
You see the small group that suffers as individuals and thus they mean more to your than the faceless millions. Well each and every one of those millions you discount because your mind can't grasp the scale are induviduals!
*I will close with a quote from Stalin. "A single death is a tragedy, a million is a statistic."
