Maybe I missed it but where or when was it said you could switch ammo on the fly? The only thing regarding the ammo I saw in the video said you choose your ammo type upon character creation. Did they say something about a "Switch ammo" button? If that is so, how would the secondary effects be handled? Would you be able to slot for the -def effect (if it exists for the lethal rounds)? And what about the defense debuff procs or any other procs/IOs for other secondary effects like the cryo round's slow.

I really hope the set includes alternative 'plain' animations that don't look so "we-tried-way-too-hard-to-make-it-flashy"

Looks very nice. I share some of the same concerns as other posters like cast times, and having a "plain" option that isn't so flashy....but over all it looks great.

I'm still hoping Blasters get a new secondary to go along with Dual Pistols. I plan on rolling a evil DP blaster when GR goes live, but I wish their was a Blaster secondary that gave a little more survivability instead of more damage. Even just a martial arts secondary would be great, but what if there was a natural secondary that just boosted your speed, accuracy, total HP, defense, and resistance...but the kicker is the defense and resistance toggles would have a damage debuff component to keep balance. The more toggles you have on to improve your survivability, the less damage your attacks do. Just an idea...seems like it would be fun to play with and use differently in different situations.

Anyways...DP looks very nice.

I talked to the devs quite a bit about it. Dual pistols has a lot of very speedy attacks. The pbaoe is it's tier 9, no it does not have an end crash, similar to rain of and fullauto.

Interesting. I thought as much.

Judging also by how often it was used, it'll be the lowest damaging "mini-nuke" but also the fastest recharging. Seems like Dual Pistols might be exactly what I expected: "the Claws of ranged sets: Fast, cheap attacks that recharge quickly."

The likelyhood is that since the secondary effects change, they will be unenhanceable (at least via enhancements, Power Boost type effects should still buff them).

Sure it sucks if you have an effect you'd like to bump up, but it also prevents people from wasting slots for enhancements they only get use from some of the time.

Indeed, it was used 3 times during the fight (and once afterwards) with gaps of 27seconds between the first and second activations and 43 seconds in between the second and third activations.

I don't think they said that in the video. They mention the selectable ammo types a bit before 6:50 into the video. I think all he says about them is that they accent the bulk of the powers. But I haven't watched any q&a videos yet (nor did I attend).

Man, it never fails, does it? We see six attacks from a new powerset, and immediately there are people who say it'll suck and people who say it'll be an exploit. People. We have nothing to go on other than what we saw, and we didn't see any numbers at all.

The set looks cool. What more do you expect to learn from a tech demo?

Well, other than it apparently has Aim in it, which is good.

With a gun, its all about looking cool! I did NOT want another standard AR animation set which you just stand there and shoot!

Im already planning on doing an /e backflip followed by some of the attacks on that video.

Oh, so that was the t9 power. I kind of assumed it'd be the equivalent of typhoon's edge for dual blades. All is well with me, then. I'm thinking pistols/kinetics corrupter would be pretty satisfying.

I'm a bit curious about the recharge on it myself. It seems unlikely that it has a 60second base recharge like RoA or FA, since the gap between it's first two uses was only ~24seconds (there was a gap of 27seconds between activations, with about 3seconds being the power's animation), and Hasten was not used by the character. There's no way to know what the power's slotting was though, or what, if any, set bonuses the character had, so it might still be.

Edit: Also, totally going with a DP/Traps Corruptor fighting for the resistance (then going to hero side).

Only if we can change fulcrum shift to something like "trained focus".

Now if there was ONLY a power to slow down time . . . . .

Or the same super powers that he used to change the day/night cycle also give his powers 0 recharge (debug mode).

Indeed. I think that's what leads some people in the audience to shout out "Punch it!" at the very end (right before he finishes off the last clockwork).

Not keen on an aim-less blast set. Though it is really pretty.

Regardless of dev mode or not, it could also simply be that since this was a demo version of the game, they just tweaked the recharge numbers down such that it's just short but not immediate.

Or even more likely, the recharge numbers are "regular" and they simply have a power that automagically refreshes all powers' cooldown timers to usable.

You're overlooking the most likely thing though. They just took the recharge timers being used in their current build and played the demo with that. Aside from the 'nuke' pretty much everything looked to have roughly the same sort of recharge my blasters get with two recharge SOs/IOs.

What folks saw in the video may or may-not be what we end up with though. I'd guess most likely not ... darn tweaking and testing.

welp, time to figure out what to pair it with. Or, I just make a DP/Kin corr.

I don't think I have a corr. It's been a while. No wait, yes I do. An Ice/Kin Corr. Forgot all about her. Way to many chars, I don't remember em once they hit 50 and the shelf.

Well, I can say, it would be a set I would play as a blaster and Corr.

And Demon Summoning, have to have the MMs. I love my MMs.

I love them all.
