First eps of Fate/Zero a prequel or Fate/Stay night is out

Can watch it here nice and legal.

http://ch.nicovideo.jp/channel/fate-zero

you can turn of the annoying captoins with the little box in the lower right corner.

"And for us this is the end of all stories, and we can mostly say they lived happily ever after. But for them it was the beginning of the real story. All there life in this world and all there adventures in Narnia had only be the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of The Great Story which no one on earth has ever read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before" - C.S Lewis, The Last Battle.

Should also be noted that this is on the Niconico Japan site with english subs and the episodes are only free for 7 days....after which you'll need to 'subscibe' for the season the show airs. It 'should' only cost 25 cents to do that since that's all I paid to catch up on the 2 Blood-C episodes I missed.
If you have a Niconico account you should also be able to log onto the Japan site, I was able to with mine...so far at least.

It's a bit short at 11 episodes but I think it ended in a good place. If they decided to make a second season, I may be a bit hesitant to watch it. I've read that after chapter 47 in the manga, the story takes a weird turn and ends up with one the the worst endings anyone could think of. (I've not read the manga, but when so many people echo the same thing it makes me a bit skittish about another season.)
The manga is finished and there is enough for another season. The ending is far from the worst thing ever, but it was unexpected and not for everyone.

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

Yes, I recommend it highly. 15 episodes is correct, but you might have to find the last three separately, as they were released online rather than aired.

Yeah, I knew the manga was finished and there was enough for another season, but with the ending they had, it could end where it did or go on. My description of the manga ending was a forum friendly, kind version....some people were really vocal about. >.<

It could have been worse, but I would be fine with them not animating the rest.

By the way, is that a Canaan avatar?

Two more of series I was following just ended recently, and one of them giving me mixed feelings about it.

Kamisama Dolls:
I didn't start following this series until the 5th episode had been released, but ended up liking it and following it to the end. It's not the most action oriented show, but the 'doll' fights are pretty good and the background flashbacks of the 2 main characters, Aki & Kyohei, explain fairly well why they are like they are.
It ends on a cliff hanger, sadly, but has flashes of the next season at the very end.

Blood-C: Production I.G
This one is a new story about Saya that has no connection to Blood+ or Blood: the last Vampire and has Clamp doing the art work. This is the show I have mixed feelings on and will say to watch it if you're a fan of the Blood series/franchise, but don't expect it to be like the previous 2.
The show can be an exercise in frustration with Saya, at times, and the deaths are quite graphic (most of which are partially covered in the 'white fog of censorship' ) but the fight scenes are pretty well done. Once you hit episode 9 (if you do ), things start to fall in place and the final 2 episodes end with a bang.......and a cliffhanger. Yes, the series will end with a feature film on June 2, 2012.

An update on this....Crunchyroll will be airing the episodes of Fate/ Zero, so there won't be a need for a Niconico account if you don't have one already.

A new season of Anime (In japan)
What I'm watching now:

C3 Cube x Cursed x Curious
~Cool show a bit confusing
Mobile Suit Gundam AGE
~it is Gundam why wouldn't I watch it?
Hunter X Hunter 2011
~According to others the new Hunter X Hunter goes way too fast and skips important plot points but I enjoy it.
Boku Ha Tomodachi Ga Sukunai
~The show I was most looking forward to--just as hilarious as expected.
Maken-Ki
~Maken-Ki is basically ruined by the artist (apparently they hired a hentai artist to animate it)

Yes; I watch my shows as they are released as subs by community subbers.

But this is the season of sequels. I'll have to watch Working, Tamayura, Bakuman and Ika Musume. I haven't looked into the other shows yet due to backlog.

First impressions of the new season (yeah, I tried pretty much everything barring sequels to things I've not seen):

Fate/Zero - It's Fate/Zero, need I say more?

Shinryaku!? Ika Musume - More Squidgirl

C^3 - Looks like a generic harem pretending to be something more. Not that promising, but I'll give it a couple more episodes to convince me.

Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai! - Generic harem/fighting/fanservice show that's fully aware of what it is and as such is entertainingly bad.

Phi Brain - Save the world with PUZZLES!!! Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a Japanese word for puzzle, so you have to put up with them saying it in English. Pretty much every other sentance. That said, it could've been fun had it been a comedy, but it's played completely straight. Probably quite good if you're a 12yr old boy, but I'm not, so....

Kimi to Boku - School-based slice of laifu without any girls. Looked like it would probably be BL, but is actually quite good, in a gently humourous manner.

Tamayura ~hitotose~ - Girls take pictures and not much happens.

Mashiro-Iro Symphony - Boy goes to girls school. Pretty sure I can see where this is going...

Maken-Ki - As per the previous but with more fighting and fanservice. As yet I'm not sure whether is enjoyably bad or just bad...

Chibi Devi! - Beelzebub with girls. 5 minute shorts that provide some amusement, but nothing remotely special as of ep 1.

Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon - I have no idea what just happened. Lots of people running around fighting on a flying city. The guy who I think is the protagonist has the creepiest smile ever....

Mirai Nikki - Boy discovers his imaginary friend isn't quite so imaginary, acquires a diary which tells the future and finds himself in a last man standing "survival game" with other who have similar diaries. Barring F/Z, probably the most promising so far.

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai - Social outcast meets girl who only has imaginary friends, they make a club to learn how to get real friends. Op makes it look like it'll become (yet another) harem show, but the first episode was good fun

Is that what fan subs call themselves now?

Some of those are being simulcast.

anyone here watched Ben-to yet.

It's kind of silly and a little over the top but god damn is it fun.

High School students engaged in Life and Death battle for half-priced lunch at the supermarket.

Like I said it's a damn silly concept but I'm finding it to be a lot of fun.

Bleach has started into the Fullbring arc. It's simulcast on Crunchyroll.

The verdict on Mobile Suit Gundam: AGE seems abysmal.

I was already put off by the character designs...

five episodes into Fate/Zero, and i can safely say this is my favorite series to come out since Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 in 2009. course, im absurdly biased (I love everything about the nasuverse, so all this in-universe discussion and character development is amazing, and im admittedly infatuated with Saber) but it actually is really good. Fate/Stay Night was massively flawed, but F/Z is looking to be one of the best if not the best series of the year.

Chat Handle: @Aether Crash -- Guardian
Heroes:
Zkorva the Exiled (50) , Squallshot Maiyamin, Aether Crash, Vhogge the Skyshaper

Villains: Katsuo Tentei (50), Lumilian Dhosan, The Cobalt Tempest, Executioner Adan

I have to agree. I want to call it the Rider show

Rider and Waver make me laugh

although thinking about it Waver is probably one of the few masters in this show who isn't a complete jerk

I think the only other one is Berserker's master and he's going crazy from being eaten alive by bugs.

Proably and being Berserker's master doesn't help any either.

Been watching The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya. The one based on the 4-panel manga with the SD characters. It's pretty funny and the episodes are Hetalia/Digi Charat/etc-esque what with being 5 or so minutes long each. The Yuki & Ryoko Achakura (no, not a misspelling) are my favorites.

The Churuya episodes are meh, so far, IMO.

Question for anyone who has the High School of the Dead dvds...

Are they uncensored? Because I've started watching HOTD on Hulu and the censoring is very apparent and very poorly done. If the dvds are uncensored, I'd consider picking them up, but if they are the same as what's on Hulu, then no way. I refuse to support censoring, which is why I never bought the CMX volumes of Tenjho Tenge.

Recently some shows have had excessive censorship devices on the broadcast versions to cover up the normal censorship on the DVDs, rather than enough (or more) to increase sales of the uncensored discs. HotD seems to be one of the latter cases, but I don't own them.

Baka and Test needs a +1. Dang, but it is funny. Especially the swimming pool episode (#6). Classic "trap" but they give Hideyoshi his/her own gender/changing room as to keep playing up the gender confusion.

I've got the blu-ray release and they are not censored at all.
I've never seen a censored release from Sentai (aka ADV) on disc. Only in broadcast form.
