Been watching some anime lately, and here goes...

Kazamakaze Tsikikage Ran - Nice anime about a lady samuraij (who's mad badass) and a silly martial artist girl. Had a nice feel to it. Liked it.

Lelouch of the Rebellion - Wierd, but was ok...

Grenadier - Love the boob bounce reload Still decent anime, liked it.

Queens Blade - Made no sense really. Just seemed they wanted to put in as much boobies as possible. Not that i complain . Sticky sap wrestling was a bonus, as well as snake thong. heh.

Wakfu - Awesome anime, well not actually anime, it's a french cartoon with anime style. Very very good. + 1 million.

Mayoi Neko Overrun - Watched upto 9th episode, i like it. Everyday life kinda thing. Was one wierd episode tho with mechas and stuff, it made no sense at all to me. But the other episodes are decent, not much action but enjoyable drama

Galactik Football - Thought it would suck, but it's an intresting take on football, and if it was like this in real life, i'd watch it I enjoyed both seasons, but was kinda predictable :|

Currently watching Witchblade, it's pretty good so far.

Taking more tips for catgirl anime!

It ends at ep 24, and if there were any missing episodes on Hulu, you can hit up Funimation's site and watch them there.

One of these days, I'll get around to updating the list. >.<

Also, I have a whole pile of anime to watch, including Hell Girl, Claymore, Animation Runner Kuromi, Please Teacher, Pani Poni Dash and Excel Saga, amongst others. Right now, I'm going through my movie collection and watching each in order to determine what to sell and what to keep. Once that is done, it's back to anime. I have a decent pile of movies that I realize I'm never going to watch again and rather than take up room, I'll divest myself of them.

great list. i've seen a few, and hope too see a few more based on this, thanks.

here's one not mentioned that would be worth the time if the idea of anime haiku appeals to you. mushi-shi http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ency...me.php?id=5923
generally insular episodes that don't need to be digested in any particular order.

flcl +1
code geass 1&2 +1 ( http://www.animepalm.com/news/code-g...n-3-announced/ ) season 3 announced
death note +5 (few anime had me as stuck to my seat as this one)
full metal alchemist & fma:brotherhood +1
black lagoon 1&2 +1 ( http://blog.affenheimtheater.de/en/2...-trail-tv-spo/ ) season 3 ova released this month
gurren lagan +3 (i'll likely get smacked for this one, but this thing just doesn't stop until it literally throws galaxies)
avatar the last airbender +1 (both does and doesn't belong, and season 2/azula is fantastic)
cowboy bebop +5 (hard to believe it ended as quickly as it did)
battle angel alita +1 (here's to hoping james cameron gets around to this sooner rather than later)

edited for squished links obscuring the point of adding them

Kittens give Morbo gas.

+3 isn't nearly enough.

My current top three (+3);

Macross Frontier
Planetes
Martian Successor Nadesico

Former top choices (+2);
Gun x Sword
Last Exile

Since I'm a big fan of the Super Robot Wars series, many of the featured anime I would also recommend for mecha fans, including Full Metal Panic, Mazinger Z/Mazinkaizer, various Gundam series (Original, Zeta, SEED), Overman King Gainer, The Big O, Rahzephon, consider a +1 for each mentioned.

Just finished watching Durarara, on Crunchyroll, this weekend. Durarara

It's a pretty good show, not highly action oriented but fairly well written. The first 3 episodes feel a bit loose and a touch slow, but it gets better after that.

The opening song for episodes 1 - 12 has a fairly cool beat.

Durarara was good. It gets my vote for best series of the spring/summer season, and best new series of the year so far. I really hope they continue it with another season.

Checking out the new anime season, I'll post what I think as I go. The first three series I watched are:

High School of the Dead - mentioned in this thread previously and I agree. Love the fact that the director unabashedly said people were most likely watching his show for fan service and zombie gore, so he decided to include both. In the span of the first episode they managed to make a better zombie movie than both Oneechanbara movies, so I'll keep watching.

Occult Academy - Weird mix of Men in Black, Ghostbusters, and a high school anime. I'm not in love with the animation style and character designs, but the little touches and references to other horror movies, TV shows, and ghost stories in just the first episode were great. I'll keep watching but so far I'd give this an average with potential to improve.

Seitokai Yakuindomo - Hands down my favorite series so far this season. It's like Azumanga Daioh mixed with the more perverted parts of Girls High. An all-girl school goes mixed gender for its first semester and the current student body already figure most of the new male students only want to form their own Tenchi-esque harems. So the student council picks what might be the only male not doing that to join them as Vice-President. The show has a very newspaper comic strip style of setting up a scene, getting to the punchline, then cutting to another scene. Very slice of life and very funny.

Mitsudomoe - I almost skipped this one because in early previews of the new anime season it looked like the token Moe anime. It could not be further from that. Triplet sisters terrorize their 6th grade class. One of them is athletic and a little perverted. The other is sadistic and wants to see others suffer. The last is quiet and withdrawn until you bother her, then she's downright creepy.

The show plays out like a Moe anime version of There's Something About Mary. They try to help their teacher date the cute school nurse, so their way of going about it is to inflict a horrible crotch-al injury on him so the nurse will have to see it. And the second episode just might have the most use of snot and urine for jokes that I have ever seen.

Asobi ni Ikuyo - I actually had this one on the backburner for a while since I labeled it just another generic "Alien girl comes to earth and lives with boy" series like DearS. The previews for it did not do it justice. Without spoiling too much, the series is essentially a more dramatic look at what would happen if DearS existed. An alien lands on earth just looking to play and have fun, lives with a lonely teenage geek, but in the background we have at least 3 mercenary groups/government agencies there trying to take the alien out or research it more closely. It feels a lot like watching Full Metal Panic's non-high school comedy parts and DearS at the same time, flipping between the two. I definitely am interested in finding out where this goes after the first episode.

I originally saw an image saying that this season had Baccano! season 2, along with animated adaptations of Yotsuba& and Franken Fran. After learning that the image was a hoax, I am a crushed and defeated husk of a human being.

been checking out Heroman, watched the first 10 episodes, so I'm pretty well enough to say it's a decent anime using the boy and his robot save the world schtick Though I would hope in future episodes when the boy has to upgrade his robot...he gives him different legs, cause the current ones are just weird to me. It's nice to have a series take place in the US as well.

I know my initial thoughts were like,"The Michelin Man became a super hero!"

I would sell my immortal soul* for a Yotsuba& anime, but I've heard the creator is pretty set against it.

Not much is catching me this season, but I overlooked some good series at the beginning of last season too. I had to play catch up when I realized how fun Working! was. So far, Ookami-san and her Seven Companions has given me a good chuckle. I've still got to checkout a lot of the series premieres yet.

After last season with B Gata, Kissxsis, and Mayoi Neko Overrun I actually looked to this season's premieres and thought I'd pass.

I'm glad I didn't, because there's a lot of good comedy anime debuting this season mixed with a lot of zombies and horror stuff.

Out of curiosity, where are you watching this stuff? Not much is coming out on DVDs these days, so I'm thinking of looking into alternative sources.

Crunchyroll has a surprising amount of new series which you can view legally. Often they're available a week after their Japanese broadcast or a few hours later if you're a subscriber.
