Am I the only one?

So been thinking about this for a while now, and realised something wierd...

I like playing through the normal content, doing arcs for contacts, I don't mind joining some friends to farm a mission or to get someones toon up some levels, I quite enjoy playing through AE arcs, I go around hunting for badges, especialy if their for accolades, have an appropriate title for the toon, or are hard to get (don't have a "badging" toon though, I get them on whatever character I'm enjoying playing, or would be most useful to the team for things like "master of" badges), I enjoy teaming, and I enjoy soloing, I like to dabble in the market to make some money, I like to head to the arena to have a match against someone, whether for a competition or just for the challenge, I like to head to the PvP zones and duke it out there or grab the badges/temp powers from the side misisons in the zone, I like to play around in the tailors designing new costumes for toons, or create new toons and try out different powersets and combinations, I like to advance through the low levels and watch a charcter grow and learn how they work, and I like playing at max level to get more IOs, merits, or inf to make them better -

*pauses for breath*

I like to get new stuff for free, but understand when things are put into boosters/expansions we have to pay for, I hate finding bugs, but understand how hard it is to keep test for these things and keep them out when the game is undergoing constant changes and upgrades, theres a list of stuff I'd like to see in the game, but I understand that it takes time to get all this stuff in, and some great ideas may be impractical or unbalance the game.

And after stalking through the forums for most of my time in CoX it seems everyone has a "LOLpvp" or "LOLbadges" or "I hate farming" to bear...

So am I the only one who enjoys all the aspects of this game?

1) Cute avatar...I just wants ta huggle tha kitten!

2) You're not, I do a little bit of everything, I RP, I farm and PL my second account characters, I PvP, I badge hunt...I do none of those things exclusively but I do a little bit of each when the fancy takes me.

Nope.

I pretty much agree with all of that.

I mirror all of that, except pvp. I am not "lulzpvp" at all; that part of the game just doesn't appeal to me.

Yep that sounds just like me, with the exception of the PvP which I have never really got around to.
I also love tinkering about in the base builder a lot, and new toons, oh I do love a new toon.

I also wander off and play something else for a couple of months and then come back full of enthusiasm again.

With the exception of PvP (which I avoid like the plague) add me to that list.

I have all that, plus I RP sometimes.

Hah! I win!

Well, okay, I don't PvP much since the changes, but I don't fault people for enjoying it, either.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

Minus the PvP, adding Badge hunting and you could be playing like me.

Nope.

Between everything you mentioned and: our SG and all the hands-on joy that entails, going crazy with our VG base edits (we're making a mafia princess luxury hotel), crunching everything I have to say in 1K characters or less (prefer mini-origin stories rather than stats in my bios and will tweak that as much as a build), occasionally setting up an event, attending Virtue's weekly events, etc.... it's like a set of mini-games for me. I never get bored; I only get bored of one thing at a time.

Also, rabidly dashing off to fire alarms, superdine raids, and the like. GM's have merits. Alarms have a bucket of silly broadcast fun.

Just like me! With the exception of the badging, normal content and RPing. I did use to play and make AE story arcs but not since the changes in i16.

I'd wager you're probably the only one who enjoys ALL aspects of the game right now. Were this five years ago, when there were a handful of things to enjoy, I could easily see a single person enjoying them all. I did. Right now, though, there are so many things designed for so many different mentalities, I would say it's unreasonable to expect people to like them ALL. Sure, some might, but most people will pick the ones they like, stick to them and do their best to avoid everything else. That's how it's been for years.

Not at all. I very much enjoy what CoH/V has to offer. It's why I keep coming back!

It may just be that those of us that do are not as vocal as those who don't.

This.

I'm glad PvP's there for those who enjoy it, and I don't begrudge them that enjoyment, as long as they don't begrudge me my choice not to participate in that particular part of this game.

I do everything but PvP and marketeering (really, another form of PvP.) I will enter PvP zones from time to time, but mostly in search of Shivans and temps. Mostly I am an altaholic and a concept maker, which is a sort of roleplaying. I run AE, missions, and task forces.

I've found that if I let myself enjoy the game for what it offers, a chance to experience gameplay focused on being a Superhero (or Supervillain), I have fun no matter what I'm doing. However, like Sam said, the game now try to cater to many mentalities and it creates a mixture of features that sometimes ends tugging on my nerves this way and that so much so that I just have to take things in moderation.

I'm like that, except for the farming. I just find it incredibly boring unless the team can somehow make up for it all with banter. My anti-AE posts that were made on the occasion were because it was taking complete control of the game and depriving people of teams.

I do have a specific badging character, but I usually only go for badges that are awarded for TFs, Mission, etc, not defeat badges, I pick them up on the way. I've tried PvP a couple of times, I still need to get the hang of it, but my favorite things to do are make AE arcs, find a character I love and cherish and, of course, have a good bit of banter when I team!

I don't enjoy them all, but I'm all for people doing what they think is fun regardless of my personal opinion.

It's good for a game to provide a wide variety of activities appealing to a wide range of players.

I can honestly say that even now after 5 years of CoX I simply still have fun doing any f that, though I do not PvP that much when I do I had fun, even if I ran into a few jerks that hang there. I always ran into a few PvPers who took the time to explain stuff and try to help. I rp , Badge hunt, and love TF's.

The game is still a joy and I am loving I16 and eagerly awaiting Going Rogue!

So nope you aren't the only one

To vampyrus_ddg :

I you accept the point of view from a french player like me (from Vigilance server), i agree with you, mee too !
This game give all sorts of fantastics way to be a hero. I love Roleplaying, badging, i love doing story arcs too, and, from times to times, making xp/prestige with any of my characters. Often, i also block my-self the XP-gain because i very enjoy do all the missions gave by all contacts throught the game. And i play since the 14th february 2005 ! I never gave up CoX

Today, i always think that "City of Heroes/Villains" are really very cool and i like to play as often as i can
