Was anyone able to attend PAX and get some juicy info from the Devs?? (Yes I know it's a weekend event)

Hrm, I wonder if they'll say anything significant about Going Rogue at PAX.

Went to PAX. CoH's booth was mainly i16 stuff with all the computers demo'ing the power customization. There is a panel tommorow though, so who knows.

They should demo the enhanced difficulty options and teach people about the dynamic spawn system if they already didn't know. That is a biiiig feature. Or at least show a video of it.

I'd really like to see what they are planning with Going Rogue. WoW laid everything out with their announcement video, CO just launched. Now would be a good time to something!

The panel tomorrow from the looks of things is about the AE's ups and downs..

At this point a screenshot or two of Pretoria would be nice!

The dev panel discussion is today - so there should be info from it on the forums this evening, or maybe a little earlier on Twitter.

They mightn't have finished the graphics tweaking yet, so they might want to wait until that's done before releasing any screenshots from GR

From PsychoPez in the PAX Discussion thread.

So, when our group ran over to the CoH booth later in the evening, we had a chance to say hi (and in my case thank) Posi, who was looking very tired but still very personable.

Then Hero-1 Joe Morrissey chatted with us. Future reference for everyone, if you ever get a chance to talk with Joe at future cons, do so. Joe was wired, asked us about our characters and sg, then nearly burst telling us some of the background of Praetoria that's coming out in i16.

I don't want to steal too much of their thunder, so I'll just say this. Joe said they started writing the history of Praetoria from 1896, which is when Marcus Cole was born. And then from there, decided, "If Tyrant existed, would A have happened in history? Yes, or no? Okay, so that changes this, now what would have happened.

All the way up to modern day. And a lot of that is where some of the new factions (he wouldn't say, and only gave hints) arose, as well as how some of the redeeming/corrupting missions will play out. Some things will be vary, "Do you want me to kill this despot running this area? Because he's a total jerk, but he's also the only thing keeping the civilians alive. Do you want freedom, or do you want to live?" type of decisions.

I'll have my laptop with me today, and I'll try to get as much info as I can from the panel, though I think it's gonna be more about what their experiences with AE has been, rather than i16 tidbits.

At this point, I'd bet they're wanting to ride through WoW and CO's big media using Power Customization/i16, then when those two start getting quiet, come out big with Going Rogue info... that way, CoH has less competition to getting the word out, while still having a presence to compete with their competition.

Of course, that doesn't mean you couldn't persuade the devs into telling you juicy details about GR, especially if you bring cookies

The "Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Story" MA focused panel was today. Sooo... anything interesting from it? Anything mentioned worth note?

Well, I did toss a packet of yellow sticky notepads under Positron's chair.

Methinks everybody can guess the punchline of that one.....

I doubted they'd do any big reveals, I'm just curious what they had to say in general -- particularly since it seemed to be about their approach to MA (story vs. farming, their goals for it, any changes or considerations in the works, etc.) I could be over interpreting the title, I guess.

No kidding, it sounds like it wasn't terribly interesting.

From the News and Announcements thread and ingame, I've heard this :

Which would be something I've wanted for some time.

I love the idea of a glowie indicator from a player standpoint, but from a story standpoint it makes no sense whatsoever.

You could think of it as having a hunch. You've found all but a few of the bombs designed to blow up the building. Based on the locations of the others, you figure that there are only a few other places where the remaining bombs could be placed in order to have the desired effect.

Or you could think of it as having found the locations of the remaining glowies via beating it out of the villains you've fought in the mission.

Being able to convert inspirations doesn't make sense from a story standpoint either. Neither does a lot of QoL functionality. Remember, it's still a game. There's no point in playing if it stops being fun, and a lot of times, stuff like not being able to find the last glowie kills the fun.

Regarding the glowie indicator thing, I recommended something like this a few years ago, but it was for that lone baddie you can't find on a map. It got some nice feedback from the playerbase, but I was a forum newbie, and didn't know about the Suggestions thread.

That Glowie/Hunt Indicator is the kind of QoL stuff we should've had forever ago. Once that one's implemented, I might not hate Defeat Alls as much anymore.

I wonder if that Indicator will include hostages, too, because then it would be perfect. If I get on yet another outdoor instance where the hostages hide in the most unnoticable crooks and nannies, I will punch someone in the face. Even when I know where to look, it takes me ages to find that last, sometimes even the first hostage, just because their hidey spots are so easily overlooked.
