Dominator Archetype Revamp
<ul>[*]Removed the damage bonus granted from Domination and increased Melee Damage Modifier from .75 to 1.05 and Ranged Damage Modifier from .65 to .95. This will allow the Dominator to deal greatly improved damage regardless if they are in Domination mode or not.[/list]
Electricity Assault
<ul>[*]Charged Brawl: Reduced this power’s damage scale from 1.96 to 1.32, reduced its recharge from 10 seconds to 6 seconds and reduced its endurance cost from 10.2 to 6.86. [*]Havoc Punch: Reduced this power’s damage scale from 2.6 to 1.96, reduces its recharge from 14 seconds to 10 seconds and reduced its endurance cost from 16.4 to 10.19.[*]Zapp: Increased this power’s damage scale from 2.76 to 3.56, increased its recharge from 12 seconds to 20 seconds and increased its endurance cost from 14.4 to 18.51.[*]Thunder Strike: Decreased the damage scale of single target portion of this power from 2.56 to 2.04, reduced its recharge from 20 seconds to 16 seconds and reduced its endurance cost from 18.5 to 15.2. Reduced the area of effect portion of this power’s damage scale from .42 to .31.[/list]

<ul>[*]Power Bolt: Increased this power’s damage scale from 1 to 1.32, increased its recharge from 4 seconds to 6 seconds and increased its endurance cost from 5.2 to 6.86. [*]Bone Smasher: Increased this power’s damage scale from 1.64 to 1.96, increased its recharge from 8 seconds to 10 seconds and increased its endurance cost from 8.53 to 10.2.[*]Power Push: Increased this power’s damage scale from .4 to 1.64. Feedback is important to our development process, there are two types of feedback and both are helpful although some give us more insight and are more easily adapted into game changes.

Objective Feedback: Objective feedback is based upon what you as a user see or experience that other users may also see and experience. This feedback usually can be replicated easily as it involves facts and unbiased opinions. Example: When using the base editor items are sometimes getting caught in columns or pillars.

Subjective Feedback: Subjective feedback is based upon how you feel or experience the game as yourself. This experience may not necessarily be replicated because it is based on feeling and emotion. Subjective feedback is important to us but it is usually helpful if more information is present to describe what and why you feel the way you do. Example: I like the way the graphics look on my shield animation it gives me the feeling of being truly super-powered.

Psychic Shockwave was a 25' area effect power that did single target damage instead of Area damage. That *was* a bug that we allowed to stand until this point, since we were not happy with Dominator Performance as a whole. Now that we have the wherewithal to make the scale of changes seen here, it was time to fix that particular issue.

The power *still* does not obey the exact formula -- we purposefully gave it a damage bonus over what it calculated out to be in order to somewhat preserve the AoE effectiveness of the set as a whole. We did the same with Psychic Scream. We also put these two powers on the Melee damage scales instead of the Ranged tables as well.

Edit: Just checked and the Melee/Ranged table change is not in the version patching today. That'll be fixed for next patch.

Cool, I was gonna ask about that.

Overall, they look interesting, I'll copy over my old Dom and run a few missions comparing Live to Test, once the patch is up of course.

I do not guess I understand the mechanics behind Doms.
Is the point to hold the room of bad guys and then kill them one at a time? That seems counter something(productive?intuitive?)
Just an observation.

This saddens me a bit since it was my main source of AoE damage, but I'll gladly test the changes tonight on my 39 Earth/Fire before I comment.

Last I'd heard, the Dom changes weren't expected to make it in until after I15 actually went live? Glad to see this is happening ahead of schedule! This is where Beta actually begins, as far as I'm concerned. I'll transfer the most current versions of my Mind/Psi and Plant/Thorn over to test as soon as I get home tonight.

Hey at least the market will have some purples again. I have 2 Doms that will be stripped and deleted and purples will be sold. So keep your eye out for a flux in the market...lol

Hmmmm.....

Reading between the lines here tells me that Issue 16 should be going to Closed Beta very shortly after Issue 15 goes Live. Give two to three weeks for stability fixes, and we'll be Testing the next Issue.

Overall I like what I see, but then again I never attempted to abuse dominators by pushing towards tri-stacking domination. I'm greatly looking forward to playing an AT I'd mostly abandoned until this point.

The changes to Psi Assault should be considered together not separately. As a whole it appears that the Psi Dominator finally has a decent ranged ST attack chain and some decent melee.

The nerfs to Psi Shockwave are reasonable on their face, but I'll be testing tonight.


The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

Not exactly thrilled to see it cost even more end...but the radius increase definitely makes me happy.

Wow only a teeny tiny change to icy assault and that looks more like a bit of balance and a buff when the increased radius is taken into account. Icy must have sucked way more than I thought.
