Be nice to your GMs
lol whenever I have a GM show up to assist they usually are nice and get what I needed fixed for me. The times I do want to complain are when something broken in a mission prevents me from completing it and I get frustrated and log off mad before anyone shows up, and then there's no specific person to complain about anyway

I don't see how a conversation can go that bad that you'd want to file a complaint against a GM. I'm assuming you filed a bug, thereby summoning the GM for help. I've never had a bad experience with a GM (unless you count one not showing up before deciding to log). What was the cause of your bad experience?
Somehow, this reeks of "The GM refused to cater to my every whim, so I got rude and disruptive, then whined when I got punished for it."

I didnt get rude and disruptive, quite the opposite actually - the GM was extremely 'smart-alecy' (I know that's probably spelled wrong but you get the idea). I was just asking why, and the guy started playing with me. It was weird. In the past few years my only very few experiences with GMs were them being nice. If I had been rude and disruptive that would have been evident in the copy of the conversation I mailed to Texas. The fact that a customer service manager called me probably shows my claims had a bit of merit and that I wasn't the one being rude.
I made the mistake of asking how to file a formal complaint. The GM changed the subject. Stupid me - persisted again and asked how to go about writing a letter of complaint. His answer was to avoid the subject again. The last words before my account was suspended were 'Are you refusing to tell me where to send a letter of complaint?' Hehe, bang. My account was down.
I didnt whine to anyone. I sent a formal letter of complaint, along with a transcript of the conversation, and then a follow-up to describe my interaction to date and to cancel my account.
To me COX is a social game. I was the head of a SG and had many friends ingame that I will miss. I like COX. It was tough to cancel my account, but the interaction I had was beyond my limit to say 'forget about it'. I appreciate the customer service manager calling me, and even she said 'everything that could go wrong went wrong' with my interactions with customer support.
Forum posts now have tags? How do we add them to posts? Or maybe the mods have to do it, since I very much doubt that the OP would have picked those ones. It's just a new, interesting feature.
I'm Tealeaf, and I approve of this message.

You're better off just struggling through and then responding to the e-mail that gets sent to you regardig your petition after with any complaints about service you might have.
I've only ever met a GM twice, and both times they've been really helpful.I'm not sure why one would behave the way you said he behaved...

I know geeks get a bad rap for having poor social skills, but for ****'s sake how do you go from:
Do you happen to know the reason why this issue keeps occurring?
...to having your account suspended? The most obvious assumption one could make is that you were combative initially and pressed the GM's buttons for no reason. It's hard to assume that a GM would be the one who tried to bait you unless you were looking to take umbrage.
lol I don't post much but this is funny. Who cares if he got a little smart with you maybe he was having a bad day. So if someone gets a llittle smart in real life and walks away you gonna cancel your account to life. Kinda easy to blow stuff like that off. Junst my two cents.

It seems to me that you're overreacting and hurting yourself more than anyone else. If I had the manager or proprietor of a business act inappropriately with me, sure, I'd be gone. If I had one employee out of THOUSANDS give me a problem, I'd simply deal with someone else.
By the way, by any reasonable standard, you DID get argumentative and combative. If you plan to complain about someone - don't tell them so. Surely you grasp human nature enough to know that's a bad idea.

I think we need more details about this - like what was the reason you first contacted a GM, and what was the reason given for suspending your account?

I've talked to three GM's in game. Two of them were polite, friendly and helpful. The third was totally rude and dismissive.

I've had to get the GMs involved many times over my time here. I've had mishs that wouldn't complete and other problems.
At no time during any of my interactions have I found the GMs to be out of line or innapropriate. To the contrary, they have been most polite and helpful to me.
Not sure what your disposition is or your demeanor when dealing with conflicts, but perhaps you should look inward to source the errors here.
The only time I've ever had to contact a GM was when I flew underneath Steel Canyon to get the Inventor Badge before it was released, and got stuck.
The GM in question was really nice, and laughed at the fact that I had been able to get the badge. (Of course, somebody told me how, I didn't discover this on my own, lol.)
I hate to make it sound like you're being untruthful, but it's my understanding that Game Masters of any kind are paid to be kind, courteous, and basically bending over backwards to make you happy.
I find it amusing that so many people are discounting out of hand the possibility that the GM was in the wrong. Note, I'm not taking EITHER side, we only have and will only ever have one side of the story.
I've worked customer service. Yes, you're paid to be polite and courteous and helpful (within the bounds of what you're allowed to do). Guess what, the people that you are helping aren't always in the best mood. Some can be downright abusive. In time it wears you down. I've seen normally good personnel snap and yell at customers on the phone. Also, the customer isn't always right, yet you're expected, within reason, to act like they are.

and do NOT press on how to file a formal complaint against the GM you are talking to . . . you may get your account suspended. At least, that's what happened to me. Immediately after my conversation with the GM I got a nice email from that GM saying how my account had been suspended for 72 hours for a bogus reason.
Luckily, I had cut / pasted our conversation to a word doc seconds before the suspension, and I mailed it off with a letter of complaint. I also requested to speak to this GMs boss, who simply reiterated my suspension for the bogus reason.
I sent a second snailmail pointing out how the bogus reason was - in fact - bogus, and also cancelling my account (no you can't have my stuff - it is already cancelled and I have deleted the game from my harddrive).
I got an actual phone call days later from a customer service manager (my snailmail must have reached Texas). It seems (shock) the reason given for the suspension was . . . ready ? . . bogus (tho that exact term wasn't used - I think the word 'mistake' might have been used). My assertion that the GM vindictively suspended my account because I was going to complain was glossed over by the reasons from 'he must have been having a bad day' to 'he must have made a mistake'.
It was a 'oops - don't cancel your account' call. Regret was voiced from the caller at losing a several year account. Treat me like that and what do they expect?!
So, just a word of advice - if you want to make a complaint, dont mention it to the GM, just goto the NCSoft website and find their Austin, TX address if you want to mail a letter of complaint. Oh - and it's vital save the conversation in question.
