Wow, sorry to disappoint. I wasn't asking for anything but an answer to why something was happening in-game that wasnt supposed to be happening. I wasnt asking for a magical fix, I was frustrated and curious and wanted to know 'why' something was happening.

I didnt get rude and disruptive, quite the opposite actually - the GM was extremely 'smart-alecy' (I know that's probably spelled wrong but you get the idea). I was just asking why, and the guy started playing with me. It was weird. In the past few years my only very few experiences with GMs were them being nice. If I had been rude and disruptive that would have been evident in the copy of the conversation I mailed to Texas. The fact that a customer service manager called me probably shows my claims had a bit of merit and that I wasn't the one being rude.

I made the mistake of asking how to file a formal complaint. The GM changed the subject. Stupid me - persisted again and asked how to go about writing a letter of complaint. His answer was to avoid the subject again. The last words before my account was suspended were 'Are you refusing to tell me where to send a letter of complaint?' Hehe, bang. My account was down.

I didnt whine to anyone. I sent a formal letter of complaint, along with a transcript of the conversation, and then a follow-up to describe my interaction to date and to cancel my account.

To me COX is a social game. I was the head of a SG and had many friends ingame that I will miss. I like COX. It was tough to cancel my account, but the interaction I had was beyond my limit to say 'forget about it'. I appreciate the customer service manager calling me, and even she said 'everything that could go wrong went wrong' with my interactions with customer support.
  2. and do NOT press on how to file a formal complaint against the GM you are talking to . . . you may get your account suspended. At least, that's what happened to me. Immediately after my conversation with the GM I got a nice email from that GM saying how my account had been suspended for 72 hours for a bogus reason.

Luckily, I had cut / pasted our conversation to a word doc seconds before the suspension, and I mailed it off with a letter of complaint. I also requested to speak to this GMs boss, who simply reiterated my suspension for the bogus reason.

I sent a second snailmail pointing out how the bogus reason was - in fact - bogus, and also cancelling my account (no you can't have my stuff - it is already cancelled and I have deleted the game from my harddrive).

I got an actual phone call days later from a customer service manager (my snailmail must have reached Texas). It seems (shock) the reason given for the suspension was . . . ready ? . . bogus (tho that exact term wasn't used - I think the word 'mistake' might have been used). My assertion that the GM vindictively suspended my account because I was going to complain was glossed over by the reasons from 'he must have been having a bad day' to 'he must have made a mistake'.

It was a 'oops - don't cancel your account' call. Regret was voiced from the caller at losing a several year account. Treat me like that and what do they expect?!

So, just a word of advice - if you want to make a complaint, dont mention it to the GM, just goto the NCSoft website and find their Austin, TX address if you want to mail a letter of complaint. Oh - and it's vital save the conversation in question.

Be sure you go to add personal item and not edit base to place your crafted telepad

My bad! Thanks! I thought the 'Raid' telepad in the 'place items' was what I created.

And just for general use in the future -

Click the wiki link in my sig, and bookmark it

(Since the wiki does have the current salvage info.)

Ummm well I just tried to builld a new telepad. I used the first recipe - the one with the luck charm. Know what I got? Not the nice tech telepad I could use - but instead some honkin big RAID telepad that I couldnt use. There went that expensive salvage! There are 3 recipies - do they make different things?
  5. The Mayhem missions are so much fun! Admit it.. blowing up a car, mailbox, etc, makes you smile.

On the other hand...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... oh, sorry, was doing a Safeguard mission just then and seemed to have dozed off...

Can I have some of what you're smoking? CoH is hard in high levels, never getting out of debt? Let me guess, you play a blaster on invincible that solos all the time?

CoX is way easier than WoW.

[/ QUOTE ]I have to agree with Stoney here, after I read what Et_tu_Brute said a few more times over, I have to say that he (Et_tu_Brute) is more hung-up on the 'golden age' of CoX than I am.

Although Stoney, Bot does play an NRG/NRG blaster and he rarely goes into debt, or so far as I know.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I play almost exclusively controllers and doms - the squishiest of the squishies! Worse yet - I sometimes forget I need to be a 'ranged' fighter. One second I'm standing next to the Brute/Tank hitting the 'heal' button, next minute I am face down in the sewer 'water'. Hehe... I guess my point is that I die alot and my experience is that the debt goes away fast. The poster must have been referring to the COH of yesteryear.
  7. I HATE it and I want it to GO AWAY. The lag is ridiculous and stupid. It is enough of an irritation that if I thought the game would be this annoying from this point forward I would definately cancel game and move to some other MMORPG. I have been told my options are:
    1. Take a vacation for a few days until Tuesday when it will let up.
    2. Move to a less populated server
    3. Run into a mission

I am doing number 1 right now - staying away from game for 2 weeks - but you know what - a 2 week vacation may make me decide to cancel the game anyway.

Number 2 option - go to less crowded server - yeah - like I want to go someplace, start all my toons from 1 again, and never be able to find team because it is an empty server.

Number 3 option - run into a mission - you still have the RED SPAM which is beyond ridiculous and a HUGE source of my irritation. ***HOW in the world could you imagine that a group of savy internet users (your clients) would be THRILLED with seemingly never-ending RED SPAM?
  8. I would like to contribute to your player guide (which I loved, thank you for posting it!)

Your assessment of the Dom rings so true. I love my Doms, but oh so squishy. I do have a Dom to contribute to the bad player guide though.
"I'm gonna play my signature power no matter what the other Dom is doing".
This Dom will throw 'roots' out to all those mobs bouncing around on the ice slick the other Dom has put down - effectively allowing the mob to stay planted on the ice slick and shoot back at us. This tactic is also especially useful to wake up a pack of foes that have been put to sleep.

I would like to also contribute an overall 'Team' concept.

    'Pull!'
The meaning of 'Pull!' is the following:
One person shoots - preferably hitting the boss - ... and then the entire team rushes forward into the advancing mob. This is most effective by running over and past the caltrops or other device put down to slow the advancing mob. (I saw this just last night and had to marvel that only half the team got wiped out w/in seconds.)
