Dev Posts = Twitter.
Because the Dev Digest is broken permanently, and the forums were gone for like a 9 weeks, I fully understand what you are saying. That Twitter seems like the only route for reliable information.
Welcome to the City of Heroes TwitterTracker! Where we sift through the weak tweets to give you HOT TWIT ON A STICK!
This one's fresh from Melissa Bianco, AKA War Witch! She writes:
I see now that "Julie and Julia" was all one elaborately (successful) ploy to hawk Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cuisine. |

Maybe I missed a post somewhere or something, but it seems the Devs are now exclusively posting on Twitter?
I gotta say, I HATE Twitter. If at all possible, I'd like some clarification on this. Is this a temporary problem with the new forums or are we expected to subscribe to Twitter to hear directly from the CoH Devs now? |
As others have said, the Dev Digest is kinda broken at the moment. Once it's fixed, you should be able to see our posts a bit more easily.
I, too, despise Twitter.
Why? I don't understand all this "hatred" toward an internet site, that helps people stay in touch.
Is it because literally anyone can do it? Or is it because it is mainstream... and you just gotta go against the grain?
I don't use Twitter.

I realize there are people who post better things (and post less than my completely fictional example), but I don't feel like getting through the slog to get to the good stuff.

Maybe I am just "backward," but I guess I still like to actually talk to someone face-to-face for things like their birthdays and things (I refuse to send cards to people because I feel it is too impersonal; I prefer to go see them, or give them a call if a visit is impractical). Secondarily, Twitter is helping to remove what little human interactions we have left, between online-everything and social networking, why do people even leave their homes anymore?
And yet, here I am posting on a message board of an MMO... Pot meet kettle, I suppose.
Well unless you follow random strangers I wonder where you find these people that talk about their dinner and gas.
I follow either friends or "Celebrities(I count the CoH Devs under celebrities for arguments sake)"
So no, I don't understand the twitter hate. You decide who you follow so it is your own choice if you read about people having gas.

Its odd. In my expierience some people actually do care what others are doing every single minute of their lives.
Texting is Numero Uno because people are constantly asking each other, "What are you doing?".
Funny, is the same question on Twitter. I love reading the NASA news on the Twitter, as well as the Weather information. Fifa World Cup News, NCSoft News. They don't post EVERY minute.. Just every so often. and I find it to be nice.
I don't know who yall are following that gave you such a disdain for the service. But, um. Most of those I follow are News information, sports, gaming... I have like 6 people. And of those 6 people they post every so often.
I love Twitter, and Facebook, they're great ways to keep in touch with friends and to learn a little bit about the world each day.
Devs, you thought about putting your Twitter feeds on the website?

Like I said, not everyone does that sorta posting. I get to see enough of friends of friends' twitters though that I have zero desire to follow most any Twitter feed. Most of my real life friends don't bother with Twitter and my online friends tend to talk to me through chat programs. Thus, unless I wanted to follow news feeds like P_P, I don't really see the need to find good Twitter threads/accounts/whatever they're called.
But I'm also horrid for small talk, which may feed into the 'do not care' aspect of the banality of some of the tweets I have seen posted. And for news I'll just visit actual news sites. I'm weird like that, I suppose.
Again, nothing really against Twitter, it just personally irritates me. I don't think everyone should agree with me. I mean, you guys obviously have a use for it. I just don't.
Yeah I understood it was a fictional example. Just an example(or something like that) I hear a lot from the twitter haters which I just don't understand.

Then consider yourself a lucky man/woman/other/robot/alien for not having run across those Twitter accounts. Cause they are out there, and darned if they don't make you cry a little inside.
Nah, the only thing I don't like about twitter is that if you mention something popular(tv show or something) 8 out of 10 times within 5 minutes you have someone from a company that vaguely has something to do with that thing will follow you(which can be easily blocked).

Introductions, Obey,
I really, really don't get the Twitter hate. Okay, so there's a lot of people twittering about inane everyday things. So what?
It's like someone saying "the World Wide Web is lame because it's full of websites that are nothing but pictures of cats on headache-inducing animated backgrounds". Yes, there are sites like that, but that doesn't automatically disqualify everything else that's out there.
And I don't get the hate for Devs who post things on Twitter. "They shouldn't post things that I want to read on Twitter, because I don't follow Twitter, and I don't follow it because it doesn't have anything I want to read".
I follow a few of my friends, because they are my friends and they live in different countries and I can't just phone them up or drop by to check on them, and I follow a few CoH devs because they usually have some interesting news or at least funny stories. There is no inane chatter in my Twitter feed, it's all stuff that's relevant to me.

I really should do something about this signature.
You don't have to like Twitter, facebook, email, fast food, bunnies, scented candles, bottled water, going on walks next to the beach, taking care of your body, taking care of your friends, roadkill, litter, dusting, mountain biking, smores, etc.
But OTHER people can take part in any of that stuff.
You seem to be misunderstanding the question. I don't care if you, the devs, or anyone else chooses to Twitter.
The issue was the "perception" that Twitter became the only source of information from the Devs.
If Twitter becomes the primary source for Dev info (as in the Devs officially stating things), then that annoys me. Folks are claiming this is simply an issue of Dev Digest not working; OK, I'll wait it out.
