Dev Posts = Twitter.

Maybe I missed a post somewhere or something, but it seems the Devs are now exclusively posting on Twitter?

I gotta say, I HATE Twitter. If at all possible, I'd like some clarification on this. Is this a temporary problem with the new forums or are we expected to subscribe to Twitter to hear directly from the CoH Devs now?

I didn't think they were doing that exclusively... just thought it was a thing for awhile, kinda like the myspace stuff.

If it's a permanent thing though, we need everyone who's both here and twitter to sound off so we can nominate a twit to copy/paste over here.

I'm not over there so... eh.

The devs still post on the forums, however the dev digest is broken right now, you have to search for their post manually by going to advanced search, setting it to display by post then entering their individual usernames. Twitter is just a nice extra, I like it.

*edit* Also the devs are crazy busy with closed beta right now so it should be expected that they will be fairly quiet.

I'm seeing a lot more Tweets than Dev Posts here on the forums, but when the tracker is broken it's hard to tell.

If any thing important happens people will put it on the forums so even if your not a twiter person you can still see what they say when somthing happens.

They're not. The prob with the new boards is that the dev digest isn't working, so theres no easy place to find the dev posts (apart from the temporary dev digest someone put up)

Also, I'd hope most of their current posts are on the closed beta forum

Also, re:twitter. I just subrcibe to the rss feeds and add them to my favourites bar in IE.

Always remember, we were Heroes.

I only got the twitter thing for when our forums were down >.>
I find it kinda amusing thoe.

Issue 16 went into close beta; announced on Twitter by Positron.

Character creator blocked off to those not in closed beta; announced on Twitter by Babs.

Now my searchfu is severely lacking combined with defunct dev digest, I can't find this information anywhere on the forums that isn't linked back to Twittter. I'm probably jumping the gun here, but I'm not liking this trend.

Agree 100%. Official announcments should be done in the forums or on the website.

Not too happy witht he Twitter only contests that went on during the forum outage ether. Social Networks are useful tools but should never replace a real website.

Maybe if the CoH community stopped using Twitter they could start fixing the links to guides and the dev tracker. For all of the work they did to prepare for the new forum, they have been seriously lacking in following up. Yes, i16 closed beta is important, but so is a fully functioning forum.

As a language nerd who believes that the information age is simultaneously the best and worst thing to ever happen to communication, I object to Twitter in the same way that some people object to flouride in the drinking water and the government spying on their thoughts with rays. I am aware that it's a mostly irrational response, but awareness of its absurdity doesn't mitigate my loathing. Anything at all that can be done to reduce my current reliance on Twitter for updates on the game would be hugely appreciated.

Not to argue or anything, I'm not fond of twitter at all, but...John Quincy Adams Entries Sent as Tweets.

A high school student touring the sixth U.S. president's archives recently noticed his bite-sized diary entries looked a lot like tweets.
And here all this time I thought diary entries were intended to be seen by the very few.

If Twitter were filled with posts from the dead, I'd be more inclined to read it.

Tell the dead to keep a tweet-ready diary.

They won't listen to me anymore after that group dancing incident...

They won't listen to me anymore either, ever since agriculture department said we can't do that to chickens.

Damn...

I know! Pin a note on a chicken and then... no wait. That won't work either.

GoliathBirdEater, here. It's not as good as the real thing, but it's useful. And the devs are still posting.

The first part I can't say, I don't look at the Community Digest quite as much as the Dev Digest (but I believe Castle or another dev clarified that i16 closed beta had indeed started) but the character creator being blocked off I *did* ready about here via a post made by Castle. I find that using the temporary dev digest stickied at the top of this forum helps.
