Which Mission is in your Room 101?
Omg, Does the 20 hostages, malta, oranbega mission really exist???
...I would log off right then and there if i got that mission. Now that being said, My least favorite mission so far has been... really any oranbega mission set, I love the appearance of the map. I despise its play. On top of that my least favorite villain group in the game resides in those missions; yeah, I dont care if im magic origin, id rather blow my Inf buying enhancements. |
Rabbits & Hares:Blue (Mind/Emp Controller)Maroon (Rad/Thermal Corruptor)and one of each AT all at 50
MA Arcs: Apples of Contention - 3184; Zen & Relaxation - 35392; Tears of Leviathan - 121733 | All posts are rated "R" for "R-r-rrrrr, baby!"|Now, and this is very important... do you want a hug? COH Faces @Blue Rabbit
That "Defeat the Sea Witch" one is really close. It's either not bad (at times a cakewalk) or an incredible ordeal, and it seems really random which.
However, I'm going with anything from Efficiency Expert...Pither, is his name? Why do I always get the enormous multi-level multi-elevator map the very first bloody mission? I've pathetically failed that guy twice now, it just made me frustrated as all hell. |
Back in the days before the AV->EB scaling, I had to face the Envoy of Shadows with my BS/Regen. I'd get him down, only to consistently use Healing Flames to get back up again. I think it was over two real-time years before I ever spoke to Cadao Kestrel again.
* Kadabra Kill gave my Merc/Poison fits, dropped him the second time I faced him.
* The mission where Black Scorpion has you down 4 Portal Corp portals. Like the CoT portals, these summon...but they summon Longbow. After the first summoned a mess of Longbow including a couple Flamethrowers and a boss...yeah, so much for trying that. If one portal was going to be that bad, I wasn't facing FOUR.
* Pumpkinhead Goaltender (Prevent 30 Fir Bolg from Escaping). On any character.
* Calystix the Shaper.
Suggestions:
Super Packs Done Right
Influence Sink: IO Level Mod/Recrafting
Random Merit Rolls: Scale cost by Toon Level
Ice Mistral because of the slows.
15 Years into the Future, has Dr. Aeon and a gajillion Arachnos in a very small area. Used to set it to Unyielding padded with 4-5 people to test people's builds in the day before IO sets...
It's not canon but Arcanaville's Scrapper (or anything) challenge can get rough in spots...what usually gives me the most trouble is the Illusion mobs.

I just log onto the second account... a 50... and run through it like that...
It is MUCH MUCH better when all those firebolgs are grey...
When I am doing it, I usually make the mistake of having it set to Super Ultra Impossible (lvl 5)
Doc Mechano, remember that time we tried to fight... Madame of Mystery, was it? You were on your Dark/Regen. Slowly trying to whittle her down over the space of 10-15 minutes? That was painful!
|
Massive damage resistance and high regen combined with the Carnie Endurance Drain power and the only way to pick her off without seemingly setting off her stupidly high regeneration was both of us standing at a range, me using laser beam eyes and the Psychic Cleaver temp power and you with your Kheldian.
Ech...that is just one awful mission.
Instead of "Prevent 30 Fir Bolg from entering door" read the mission text as "Defeat all Fir Bolg in under 10-15 minutes."
If you just take the fight to the Fir Bolg in the farm area, you should do well. Bringing a Storm Summoning or Forcefield character along for repel helps as well. It is a pain of a mission though, I'll give it that much.

Defeat Agent Crimson from Shadow Spider. Specifically the "Stop Agent Crimson Escaping" part. Still never done it yet.
Now @Eskimo-Spy
I'm not evil.
Not a big fan of that one myself, which is why I typically leave Croatoa after finishing Gordon Bower's missions and not moving on to Skipper's and beyond. I think the only time I've managed to pull it off (of the 2-3 times I've gotten it) without severely outlevelling it was with my storm summoning defender, with hurricane running. A few still got through, but it helped a lot.

My least favorite missions villainside are anything in an arachnos base that has a defeat all in it, with Lorenz Ansaldo's defeat the sea witch getting a runner up nomination as that mission is either a walk in the park or nearly impossible. You should NOT have to face an EB in the early 20's that has hurricane, tornado AND lightning storm.
Heroside I would have to throw my vote behind any missions in the troll caves - way to many spawns way to close together. This includes Talshak's mission in them as well as the second mission in Mercedes Sheldon's crown of glory arc. Even on my scrappers, who love the target rich environment, having to crawl all over those maps looking for just the right mobs is way to painful (I actually like all the other missions in Mercedes arcs despite all the ambushes - much more interesting and interactive than most story arcs heroside).

This. By all that's holy- this. No mission should ever involve going in, setting an attack on auto, then having to find something to do for 15 minutes as the computer whittles away at a big sack of HP. It's like the devs had a quota for how long they needed the patron arcs to be, and Black Scorpion was running short, so they stacked one mission with a time waster. Even worse is the fact that Black Scorpion tends to fit most of my characters best out of the patrons, so it's either suck it up or wedge some other patron into their story.

Also on the note of patrons, the final mission from his second arc on anything but a character with good enddrain/recovery resistance. I had enough Mu on me through most of it to give my /elec brute some end problems. I'd hate to see how a character with lesser resistances would fare. Not to mention fighting Ice Mistral twice during it. Slow city!
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
Okay, the Let's Save All the Lawyers from the DE on the office map and Let's Save All The Magicians from the CoT in Oranbega? Those two right there are my kryptonite no matter what I'm running.
Madame of Mystery - good call there.

Everyone who chose this mission got the answer correct.
Anytime I see that ForceField based Longbow Elite Boss! I've never seen a baddie kill MM pets so quickly!
Lets see...
Talk to the Troll dude: Y'all know this one. No matter who your contact is, sooner or later they all want you to talk to the troll guy.
Rescue Fusionette:Again. And again. And again...
Seriously, now:
Defeat the Sea Witch -- top of the list. kills me at least once every time.
Ambush Nocturne -- From the PCM story arc. If it goes wrong, and everyone dies there's almost no way to correct it other than reset and try over.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
Defeat 50 Carnival in PI.
The Nethergoat Archive: all my memories, all my characters, all my thoughts on CoH...eventually.
My City Was Gone
Stop Rikti Bombing. Given by Levantera. I hate that PTS Cap au map so much.
Defeat <number of baddies> in <particular zone>
(40 Rikti in Abandoned Sewers, 45 Carnies in PI, etc.)
Prevent 30 Fir Bolg from Escaping
Help AE Baby Get to PI

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!
If I became a red name, I would be all "and what would you mere mortals like to entertain me with today, mu hu ha ha ha!" ~Arcanaville
Then there's the mission from Dark Watcher where [*SPOILER ALERT!*] you have to fight the robots Nemesis used to impersonate the Freedom Phalanx. Manticore isn't too rough if you have good Defense, but Positron is... well, Positron. And it's impossible to get him to stop chasing you if you're trying to get away and regroup. That's always one of my most dreaded missions.
Besides that, anything with Silver Mantis or Ms. Liberty, since they're both pretty unstoppable. Silver Mantis especially, since she pops up every 5 levels or so guarding something.
