Scrappers United - Roll Call

Chaos String here. Although my avatar and forums namesake is a grav/kin controller (my first lvl 50), I play in a constant state of scrapperlock, so scrappers are my favorite AT.

I'm not known for anything I'm aware of. I'm a proponent of Broadsword, though (esp. BS/SD, my current main Scrapper), and am one of the (apparently) few players to push its dps beyond 200.

I also have a lvl 50 MA/SR scrapper, and am taking the scenic route to 50 on a Kat/WP.

I am Skydance, and I am a Scrapper, always. Regardless of which Archetype I actually play, which has caused some difficulties in the past if I am on my Defender or Controller

Though Sunwind (FM/WP) is as close as it gets to a 'main' character, in the past months I've been only playing my VEATS, a Bane / Huntsman dual build, and my Night Widow, favoring their team friendlyness a tiny bit over Scrappers. Come 'Going Rogue' both will probably switch sides (neutral if that is an option).

I guess I am 'I want it all player'. I want great looking costumes, a fitting concept, great visuals in the powers and a great performance numberwise. These sometimes conflict a bit, but as Geko pointed out, much of the min/max discussion here is on a very very high scale, so I usually find a happy medium between looks-concept-performance There's always a bigger fish, but as long as I have at least 'RWZ-Challenge' effectivness *), it's all good.

<Edit> I am not really known for anything, as I really don't post much. Just thought I'd say hello. So, "Hello"

Hi I'm Grae. My first character and namesake is a Broad Sword/Invulnerability scrapper. He was made back in the day when /inv could herd an entire room with little fear. I admit, after the big nerf I gave up on scrappers for some time, however, I have recently picked up a DB/Regen and I am enjoying it once again. Long live Scrappers!

Hi, I'm Suz and my first love in this game is my Kat/Regen. I have horrendous altitis but play them all like scrappers regardless of actual AT.

Hope to catch some of you on Defiant sometime.....

Greetings. My name is Shred Monkey. I play on infinity.

I made a DB/SR scrapper awhile back (named Shred Monkey) and filmed him soloing some AVs. This is back when people didn't do that so it attracted quite a bit of attention.

I also have a DM/SD monster named Shadow Monkey who according to Werner's calculations cracked the 300DPS barrier in a fight with Shadowhunter which contributed considerably to the general concensous that that combination is freaky awsome.

This weekend I decided it was time to reinvent awesome once more and I started a Katana/Fire. I'm not sure what it is I'm going to do this time that should not be possible on a scrapper... but I'll figure it out and get back to you.

Generally I ignore the "rate this build" posts and talk more generally about build philosophy to help others come up with thier own builds. I used to contribute a lot to DPS discussions, but enough others have picked up the torch on that topic and the answers are usually posted to quickly for me to add anything.

I also don't like what's happened to the game since Mission Architect was released... though I don't blame AE entirely.

(and no, I still won't post my builds.)

I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.

I'm A2K and I've been on a scrapper streak lately, drifting rather far from the defenders/controllers I usually play. They're all on Virtue and Freedom for the most part.

My main scrapper, Mr. Kilroy, is MA/SR and at 41, but he's on the shelf until the new animations come through; he's meant to be a brawler.

One I've put to the side is Rani Royal, my Katana/WP. She's at 40, and no I dunno why. Maybe I'll pick her up.

Androktasia is my current love, and she's 38. - why did no one tell me that BS was just that awesome?
When the difficulty/mob changes come through in the next issue, she'll be first to try that.

I also have Hexblade and Bishonen Knife, my DB/WPs, currently in their 20s, and so much fun. Also in their twenties I have Rider Midori and Rider Murasaki, both MA/Shield with a Kamen Rider theme going there.

And then there's Mourning Musume, my baby Claws/DA. Just not getting the hang of DA yet for some reason (A2K, it's called YOU NEED END REDUXES IN EVERYTHING) but she's gonna grow.
'
My latest experiment is Ophanus, a fire/fire scrapper, still very wee but I'll come back to her very soon.

I admit it. Scrapperlock is a *sickness*, I swear.

I'm Minotaur, I play everything and I play a lot (150 toons on one account, 38 50s with no real PLing or farming).

I enjoy scrappers as they are my favourite AT to solo, but as I tend to play a toon to 50 then move on, my builds are not purpled out monstrosities. My area of expertise is constructing good but not godly builds without spending a fortune.

My main scrappers are Kat/SR (2 on different servers). I enjoy playing with the numbers, but can't really be bothered with the fiddly calculations like the effect of the achilles heal proc on DPS.

It's true. This game is NOT rocket surgery. - BillZBubba

Hello...Agent 717 here...veteran of the game, but rookie to the boards. :-)

I play many toons, but I always seem to make my way back to the world of scrappers. My current main is a 50 MA/SD.

I look forward to taking it to the streets with you all.

Agent.

My name is Alex and I am a scrapper. Well, my main and beloved is a BS/Inv scrapper, first hero I ever made, and have logged over 1200 hours on him. Despite how much I love him, he is currently my only 50 scrapper. However, I've a claws/regen at 40 atm, and hope to be getting some milage out of him. I've found myself playing support more recently, be it my kin, sonic, rad, empath or dark, but even those I play fairly aggresively.

I'm not known for anything anymore. I used to be the main proponent/foil/defender of Regen and an avowed Moment of Glory hater, but then they left Regen alone for awhile and actually buffed MoG.

So, I'm pretty mellow these days. I'm like the old war vet who gets a kick out of the new kids and their survival charts, and arguing over who does 10 more DPS than the other guy. All the time arguing about builds that are in the top 1% and can all do pretty much the same overpowered things.

Heh, ditto. My main contributions are long past and well overshadowed by the numbers work by Arcanaville. I've got fond memories of being one of the initial group of Badge Hunters who first mapped out CoH in Issue 2.

And perhaps I claim too much by this, I'd say I was the first to figure out how the devs calculated our attack powers as part of my ongoing and completed quest to see Claws as something other than the redheaded stepchild of Scrapper Primaries.

I also was one of the few taking the time to test Regen out every patch on test in the early days as the Devs took their sweet time nerfing it over and over again. I also may have been somewhat rabid in my defense of Regen.

Now? I love seeing how far we've come in knowing how the game works and how we can leverage it. I chuckle when I read through the DPS threads and remember there was a time when we didn't know how much endurance our powers cost or how much regen % was in Instant Healing. (it was my first question on the boards, the "answer" was " Alot")

I enjoy lurking and trying to play the game enough so to lower my posts:hours played ratio.

edit: Oh, to all the UK, people, it's nice to not have to lurk separate boards now to read more Scrapper talk.

I've been looking for a guide on that - hope to hear you share your insights, cause I have yet to run into another MA/SD besides me when I play. People seem surprised when they don't see me haul out a sword, doncha know.

Actually, I consider your work on Claws (along with Circeus' work on Ice Tankers) to be the exemplar for how to work with the devs on powers suggestions (even if you don't always get what you want out of it).

That and Iakona giving me the AoE formula were the prime motivators for me actually looking at offensive power balance in the first place. And its possible to infer at least some connection between your Claws work, my work on attack DPA and animation times, and Castle's work on cast time balancing which led to Claws becoming an AoE monster (due to a glitch in Castle's balancing equation); and my repeated suggestions to BaB to look at animation times for MA and BaB's animation/weapon draw shaving which led to all the melee attack sets getting sped up.

Technically, you've managed to buff Claws three times with one suggestion.

UberGuy here. Generally a consumer of the good work of other folks who do the true legwork, I try to commit ridiculous amounts of it to memory (personal or hard drive) and resupply it to others here on the boards.

And of course, I use it all to tune my own characters and builds.

My original characters were Scrappers, and they remain my favorite, with a more broad preference for melee ATs of all types.

I'm not sure if I'm known for anything. But I am a Scrapper at heart that sometimes like looking for challenges to test my main character, Shadowrush, a level 50 MA/SR. I've spent many nights researching, designing, and tinkering with Shadowrush's build. Figuring many different ways to softcap him and increase his DPS, while still retaining his concept.

I was one of the first few people that finished BillZBubba's version of the RWZ Challenge. I'm also an AV soloist at times and have done so with no temps nor inspirations, but not many with those exact restrictions (half of my AV soloing involved a few inspiration use). With some advice from fellow scrappers, including Werner, I've also used Shadowrush to solo a Rikti Pylon, took me about 30-40 minutes, but I did it. I've also been known to help a few new scrappers with answers to their questions and ways to improve their builds, whether for power or concept, or both.

As for some non-scrapper stuff, I'm a big badge hunter, and have sometimes been known to pull-off miracles in TF's or Trials (like defeating the Crystal Titan in the Eden Trial for my team, when I was the only one left standing). And... I don't know if anyone remembers, I was the first guy to make a giant robot in his base and posted screenshots in the Base Forums.

Hi all,

I'm Reyne (most of my ingame toons are "something Reyne") and am probably better known for my Cartoon contributions to the City Scoop.

I've also got a deep abiding love of Scrappers, with two accounts of pretty much just different scrapper combinations (though i let my fiancee have room on the second account)
and for most of those it means I've simply played the characters from 0 - 50.
What does that mean? Well, I've made mistakes, I've sought help, and learnt a lot along the way. I don't know as much about numbers as some, but have picked up a good solid feel for the various Scrapper powersets by simply playing them. A lot.

I'm sure you'll see me offering my opinions where they don't belong, usually while I wait out server downtime, but I'm a helpful guy, and if I serve no other purpose in life, let it be to be a warning to others.

Zironn here. Been around since day 1, but I was on hiatus for the past 5 years. I've been back, trying to bank money for an IO build on my DM/Reg scrapper. My first 50, and still my favorite. Trying to relearn everything has been a bit troublesome, but in the end, it has been so very worth it so far.

I am @Dagar & @Larac

I know a small thing or two about the dark related sets having 3 lvl 50 /DA scrappers & 3 lvl 50 DM scrappers.. Feel free to ask about said sets although I am pretty set in my ways as to power choice and slotting. For the record DM/DA, BS/DA, SPN/DA, DM/SR, DM/SD are the dark related scrapper combos

My current lvling scrappers are a Claws/INV & a BS/SD.

I have some small experience of AV soloing with the DM/SR (she has by far and away the most expensive build I've ever put together, but hey perma-hasten costs). Always willing to learn though.

Hi I'm Captain Lupis and I'm a scrapperholic. It was just over four years ago i had my first hit. I thought I could handle it. Just the one, where's the harm? I wasn't strong enough to stop at one. I needed another, then another... I've been clean for about a week, not made a new one in all that time, but I feel the urge coming over me and I don't think I can resist for long!

I hejtmane I am a scrapper as seen by my number of 50's that are scrapper I been playing for 54 months

I love damage i love to put out orange numbers

I am the biggest proponent in asking for kb protection for Dark armor/Fire Armor

/sr was my favorite secondary until shields. I grind out 50's in slow steady fashion do to my play time hours and weird play patterns. I started one /da even before stacking armors or IO's

I also leveled twice back in i3-i4 on my dm/da with 5 bars of debt yes I dinged twice at the debt cap i got there because I refuse to quit trying to beat a guys mission then hit a stride of bad luck and bad pugs and I refused to quit them (got Dark regen sucked back then 50 endurance to use it)

Pinnacle

I haven't done anything of merit on a scrapper but I finally got around to leveling one to 50 and loved it. I'm not fond of the blue side but I do enjoy playing my MA/Regen. Now I have 2 more lowbie scrappers I'm leveling, a Fire/Shield and a Dm/Regen. The more I play /Regen the more I'm enjoying it and I'll most likely make even more /Regen scrappers in the future.
