I have 5xArmageddon and 1xscirocco's acc/dmg/end on one toon. On the other I have 6xoblit
Not the cheap stuff I know. A couple of SG peeps have it with 3xeradication, 2 scirocco's and 1 oblit using the tripple and quads from those sets. -
I can see where you going with that build. Thanks for the suggestions but I would rather keep the softcap and fill with a vet power when required.
iirc the HO's increase the defdebuff protection plus I have them already. -
I have a fire/kin and a sd/ss tank for farming and a DM/SR for AV soloing.
This is more for team fun with the SG, but also soloing lvl 50 content on a decent setting, say +1/+6 etc -
This is a semi-budget elec/sd build I'm planning on respec'ing my latest scrapper into after dxp weekend.
I believe I've got the softcap and pretty decent regen. The only thing I'm not sure about is do I have enough single target attacks to get by with the rechage I have?
The main reason I've gone with the IO sets in the build is that I have nearly all of them pre-crafted in my base and have enough merits to get 2xlotg and the regen tissue from doing story arcs as I went.
Have I missed an easy trick to make it better with out really spending too much?

I have both DM/SR & DM/SD at 50. The SR is fully pimped with softcap, perma-hasten and high recharge. The SD is less expensive IOs (no purples, no lotg), but still softcap and decent regen.
In all but the absolute peak challenges the SD is much more fun, especially when it comes to teaming.
If I could be bothered, I'd multi-respec both to get all the purples out of the SR and make the SD top bannana.
So yes DM/SD every time. -
I have SM and SoM on all 4 of my dark mele toons.
The DM/SD & DM/SR don't use it so much as they both run the mng -> smith -> SL -> smite attack chain, but some times the mobs just ine up right and you can let rip with it.
Oh and it's a good set mule for armageddon if you have the cash. -
I have run both on my DM/DA and BS/DA.
I have kept CoF on the DM/DA for concept and never notice the end as he has 119 end plus huge recovery.
I have CoF again on the BS/DA as I found the OG stagger too anoying and would get a mob or two out of the AoE attacks every now and then.
On my spn/da I have OG and use it as a set mule for absolute amazement, rarely run it as anything left standing after the 1st batch of AoE's will not be affected by a mag2 stun.
So it might be better to try both (what with the massive number of respec we get now) and then decide. -
Thanks for the reply.
I'm not afraid of splashing the inf. The DM/SR is perma-hasten with 4x5 purples, 5 lotg globals etc etc.
I'm not a 100% stickler to the no insps rule when soloing AVs, if I getting close 15mins into a fight and get taken down to flashing red I'll pop a few greens. Time is precious.
I made a fire/wp when fire fist got ported only played to 21 but found fire a bit clunky compaired to DM. In much the same way as I found BS/DA after playing a DM/DA to 50. But I guess any attack chain will feel a bit lumpy when you used to running smite, sl, smite, mng.
Oh well I might play a fire/sd for a while and leave the dm/sd sat @25 until next dblxp.
Any one care to chip in with a few team play & 50 TF build suggestions. Not quite money no object (can't afford the pvp IOs) but quite a high budget. -
So I've done the DM/SR thing soloing AV's pylon's etc.
I'm going to be making a shields toon for similar. My question is, should I make fire or dark mele again (I also have a DM/DA and a DM/INV).
With fire is it possible to build a real top DPS solo toon with a tight attack chain and keep a few of the showie aoe and big sword powers? or do you have to sacrific those to get the top end raw DPS.
If you can't how cheaply can you do a softcap team aoe build which wont be too clunky? Then I can put all the toys in a second tight soloing build. -
I have hasten on just about every toon.
On my DM/SR I have perma-hasten, had to loose a travel power to get it but hey ninja run helps. -
-
Quote:True, but I prefer the HACK of my BS/DA even if it is clunky. Must be the DnD hack n Slasher in me.To me a defense capped Katana/DA would blow that away in group play. The damage aura combined with Katana's AoE would just kill groups faster.
As for group play, the DM/SR rarely gets a group outing, but then I rarely have time for TFs etc so for solo etc I pick her. When I do get to TF most of the time the SG beg for me to bring my rad/sonic but hey, take one for the team and all that. -
I've only got the 3 /DA 50 scrappers, one was my 1st toon who I role out for TFs SG events etc. The rest I very rarely play.
The main reason for me not playing them any more is the fact that when you come to the really big end game stuff especially solo the perma-hasten softcap DM/SR wins out.
The BS/DA is the only one that comes close and thats because it has more cone/aoe attacks for TFs etc. Otherwise, it'll be the deff based toon. -
So I'm looking round the boards & this thread, a few things pop into my head:
I can solo AV's no problem on my DM/SR/BM perma-hasten scrapper, I can solo AV's fine on my DM/SD/BM scrapper just as well, some times quicker if I can keep AAO fodder alive.
What I want to know is if I put the same base slotting into a brute, would I be able to defeate the same AVs faster with the brute?
As for the original question, my 1st AV soloing build with the DM/SR/BM scrapper was in the 200-250mil budget, but that was back before AE farming etc and the markets went mad. I'm pretty sure I could re-create a similar softcap decent recharge build for about the same budget.
As for tanks, It may be possible to solo AVs with some builds, but you'll be looking at a huge fight time. -
I'm only a 54mth vet so nothing like some of these guys.
I almost exclusively play scrappers, dark ones at that (DM/DA, DM/SR, DM/SD, BS/DA, SPN/DA all 50)
I have 2 toons which I created when I 1st started. Dagar who is my badge hunter etc etc who is closing in on 3000hrs of ingame time. Took me over 1000hrs to get to 50, those who remeber i3 DM/DA will know why.... The other is a storm/elec who I created for a super team thing who is not 44, I rarely play her as I suck at squishies.
I have 2 favorite builds, 1st is the current one on Dagar which is not 100% max build, but has excelent max end and recovery. Makes DM/DA very much playable and survivable.
Second is the perma-hasten build I'm running on my DM/SR for AV soloing, that is an all the toys no expense spared build. Much fun and very survivable. At some point I may use all my vet respecs and move the IOs to the DM/SD either that or famr all next double xp weekend to get the required ones.
Anyways thats all from me. -
I did have 1 Karma and one 3 stedfasts on my main /DA but droped it down to one of each at my last respec.
As said above though there is very little stuff in the 4-12 mag KB so one will do most of the time and 4 was deffinately overkill. -
Not bothered by the inky blob factor when missioning. If I'm standing about I turn it off or as above turn everything else off to look like the spectral misty type thing.
-
I've been running this build for almost 2 months (5 weeks full slotted the rest was minus a couple of purples) and as fun permaish hasten is, I get the feeling that it could be better. ie loose a bit of rechagre for something else.
I know I've sold soul drain short by going for set bonus's rather than actual power bonus's. I've solo'd my way through stateman's Pal arc had to us insps a fair bit, but I'm just getting used to this AV soloing lark and also I'm a bit impatient so chuck a few reds down now and then.
Any suggestions for a rework? INF is not quite no object and I have a fair ammount of stuf lurking in my base. I almost exclusively use this toon for soloing top level content or silly challenge tf's.

I am @Dagar & @Larac
I know a small thing or two about the dark related sets having 3 lvl 50 /DA scrappers & 3 lvl 50 DM scrappers.. Feel free to ask about said sets although I am pretty set in my ways as to power choice and slotting. For the record DM/DA, BS/DA, SPN/DA, DM/SR, DM/SD are the dark related scrapper combos
My current lvling scrappers are a Claws/INV & a BS/SD.
I have some small experience of AV soloing with the DM/SR (she has by far and away the most expensive build I've ever put together, but hey perma-hasten costs). Always willing to learn though. -
As above, I did one have a fear/imob heavy DM/DA/DM build with presence pool, but fun as it was ocasionally frankly most of the time it sucked [censored].
-
Do Opressive gloom or cloak of fear not effect them?
-
As stated does not stack past 5.
I have the full 5 in my DM/SR and love it, BUT unless you have buckets of inf or are working towards something, 110mil each is not worth it. -
Wont catch me belittling it mate. Any AV soloing is worth a big thumbs up.
GJ
Whats the Arc name/number? I fancy giving it a crack.
