I miss the old colors!
Well, like the old forums and the apendix, some things just don't work. Then again, its day one, you may have a point and its not working. I prefer the old look too, this color scheme is just so blah.
I selected the villain colors and got the reddish look again.
I do like the new posting box; now I can see my whole post at once. I selected the middle option on that.
Arc #40529 : The Furies of the Earth
Eh, the blue-grey(ish) is acceptable.
i do miss the option to jump to new posts, and a few other features.
Not sure if they're supported, or will be enabled.
Still, it's all shiny and new; now comes the period of adapting to the new environment.
Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
I can put up with the new colors (though I think I preferred the old), but I really liked the way the old boards had all the categories expanded, so I could navigate between sections more quickly by just going to the master index; it's an extra step now, unless I'm missing an option to expand them.
Also, dev digest is broken and is showing HTML code.
Finally, the avatars being 100x100 instead of 80x80 is going to throw some people off (I'm glad I made myself a couple sizes of mine already).
Edit: Also, having the left 80%ish of the avatar box filled with gray makes transparent avatars look funny.

The wisdom of Shadowe: Ghostraptor: The Shadowe is wise ...; FFM: Shadowe is no longer wise.

Hmm The new colors will take some getting used to.
I immediately switched to the villain skin (I couldn't stand the old hero one and the new one even less) and the lighter shade of red is not as disappointing as I thought it'd be. Also, clicking on a link no longer takes me to the version that the linker uses, which was a huge headache in the old forums.
I never liked the villain version of the old board, but I love this new board's villain color. So I'll be sticking with redside.

Think the colours of this new board are quite nice to look at , the font aint to bad to read. But looks like i may miss seeing all the sections on screen at once. Looks like they have stuck them in sub directorys. Which is all well and good but till get to know where things are its not as straight forward to see which threads have had new posts, maybe just need to get uesd to looking for the new post thread icons
I guess in time we will adapt to the new look
Ahh just noticed handy expanded thread linkie above, much handier

the old forums looked like something a 5 year old colored in with neon crayon- good riddance!
these forums have their issues but the overall 'look and feel' is 10,000 times better than the old ones.
I'm starting to think some people have Stockholm Syndrome about the old forums. Years of abuse resulting in misplaced concern and appreciation.

This thread http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=183872 is where I'm trying to address at the very least the colors, so the user can set them how ever they want. Other functionality tbd.

Personally, I liked the old colours better. This blue is muted and dull and I despise the gradient. A lot of things may have been wrong with the old forums, but the appearance wasn't one of them.

Loathe this colour scheme with a passion. Hero and villains. I mean what's with that yucky mouldy green colour? Teal? This is a teal, not that awful colour!
Even villain colour scheme isn't great. More rusty brown than red.

I miss a lot about the old forum, to be blunt. Firstly, it was MUCH faster to load. Either there's far heavier traffic on this site or all the pretty pictures are chewing up my bandwidth (and it's no slouch either).
Another thing is the quick reply. On the old forums it was just there, always available. Now I have to manually click an icon just to activate it. A minor gripe but still a little bugbear of mine.
I also find rating systems abhorrent. On virtually every forum I've visited with a rating system, I find a lot of people who are so concerned with their ratings that they refuse to post comments which people might object to for fear of losing their precious scores. Tends to lead to one-sided conversations, with few people playing the devil's advocate. A part, I daresay, im well versed in.
I'm sure I'll get used to the new forum and all its quirks (like where to find everything -- it was a shot in the dark finding the general discussion forum!) but im still in the uncomfortable early stage right now, so don't mind me if I seem like a little lost lamb.

The old forums loaded like a rusty black powder pistol and reliably mis-fired several times a day.
VB isn't super lightning fast, but so far it's steady & I haven't had any of those annoying freeze-ups that were a hallmark of the old software.

I'm really not liking these forums at the moment. They look awful - even after a while, the colour schemes are still yuk, and they are horrible to navigate. There arefar too many categories, and a disturbing preponderance to overuse the sticky pin making the actual new, relevant content difficult to find.

I find the new sea green background easier on my eyes than the blue. It is taking some getting used to but my eyes are happier for it. The smaller text is the problem. The background needs to go, the forums need to take up the full screen to use full size 12 font for us vision challenged peopled.

I'm not having many freeze-ups during forum load except for avatars simply not loading occasionally. Then again I hadn't had the old forums freeze upon loading in over a year anyway.
The dark blue background, the lighter colors on threads with new posts, the green, bolded hyperlinks...can I get them back? I selected the hero skin in the control panel, but it seems to have changed nothing.
