That would be very little, Thugs bruiser (clap, stomp, jab, punch, KO), and ninja with i believe only 3 (err kick, another errr kick and errrr 3rd kick).

I rather see them fix pets that giving them some stupid animation.

Yes.. zombies could easily become vampires. The cast and summon animation is the same. Just a change of skin needed.

Three vampire brides
Two vampiric knights
One vampire boss

And don't give me any dribble about it being endemic to what they are, because the exact same reasoning can apply to green fireballs or pink ice

[/ QUOTE ]

Bad choice. Fire can burn pretty much any colour. Didn't you do flame tests for detecting metals in chemistry? And ice could refract any colour as well. Red dark powers does seem a bit odd, but the idea is to vary the roleplay aspect.

Now, Khelds do have a specific roleplay background...

[/ QUOTE ]

This is the in game reason.

The other reason is EATs are played by a smaller proportion of players, and have a greater number of powers to be altered.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not to mention that many of those powers would take more extreme work to customise.

And there's the BOTH reason: if you aren't playing a kheldian 'as designed' then you aren't playing a kheldian. You should, therefore, not be doing the kheldian arcs, but those are hard-wired into the kheldian ATs.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ok, here's a tip! IT'S A GAME!
..and if you can live with everything else in the game that makes very little sense... Schesus!

Or copy from that group.. errr.. with those face-bosses.

The ones with shotgun -> zombie
The big ones -> graveknight
the annoying storm/earth casters -> lich

They spawn in Talos, at night.

"Power Spectrum"? That ranks with "Power and Responsibility" as the crappest issue title yet

And apart from this helpful piece of feedback, would you care to share your invaluable suggestion with us?

Issue 16 : AAAAH. MY EYES, IT BURNS!!! THE GOGGLES DO NOTHING!!!

In honour of the hideous colours Shielding toons are going to inflict on us, along with a nod towards the science pack cossie items

I think "Super Happy Rainbow Funtime" would have been an acceptable alternative title.

I wouldnt be suprised if there is an option to set team members colours to display as default. They are rendered client side right (the reason the propel objects look different)?

I wonder is there a possibility that were going to get SUPERGROUP colors for powers? so the whole SG when in SG mode can all have the same coloured powers and cossies.

hmmm

Im looking forward to the issue however for 2 reasons, 1) i want to change the Super reflexes colour of my main Dark Ebon Spider but 2) I want to change the Psionic shield from Dark Armour from a god aweful Pink Halo to something darker, perhaps even Red (that would work for Dracula)

Even if there isnt that option then surely it wouldnt be too much to ask some people to colour their powers in a certain way for a single cossie slot.

Oh look its omega squad!!!
What are they doing?
It looks like . . . . . oh no . . . . .
What?! what is it?!

thing is though what if the colour change for powers isnt slot based like it is for auras? what if its one colour choice per character.

just dont want to set myself up for a fall and hope for things that may not happen, just like im sure my plans for a Villain Warshade will be dashed.

Never fear!

The official i16 overview states:

it also allows you to select your colors and theme for each individual power or apply it to the entire powerset. These themes will allow for color tinting of geometry and particle effects such as energy blast colors and force field colors. The primary and secondary colors of any power effect can be changed individually for each power in the set.

That didn't address Spider's fears at all.

As I read it: Spider fears that your power colour choices will be set for the character regardless of costume slot (so a character with multiple costumes has got to have the same power colours for each - you cannot have one costume with pink blasts and another with yellow).

You tried to answer this by showing that powers can be coloured individually. That has no bearing upon whether the colours picked are for the character (regardless of costume) or linked to an individual costume slot.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes? And? So what? They're already putting that work in to doing all the other powers, so what difference does it make to do the Kheld ones too?

You're just trying to split hairs because you don't care about changing the colours on hero epics.
Well guess what? Other people DO care, and not allowing us to change them for some brainless artificial reason is NOT on!

It makes no more sense to have a bright yellow dark power set than it down to make Kheld powers pink; yet the dark lot are going to be able to make their powers bright yellow if they want.

I'd like them to replicate the system to Khelds too, and I reckon it's at least a stretch goal for i16.

But most other sets do get the advantage of fewer powers to work on (9 oppose to 14/12) and the fact they're generally shared amongst different ATs.

I'm guessing they might sneak into i16 though. They really should, along with Pool Powers and Patron / Ancillary powers. No point introducing a feature if you're only going to half-implement it. Especially if its the main feature of an Issue.

[/ QUOTE ]

Actually this isn't really true. Normal AT powersets aren't as highly "welded" into the characters origin as the Epic characters ones are. For example my Fire Control might be mystically summoned hellfire, and thus burns black. Someone elses might be via burning emitted gases and thus burn orange / blue / green.

But going on canon a Kheld is always formed from a little splogy alien thing bonding with a host and that's where their powers come from.

Canon aside though in terms of giving everyone the same value from an issue any character with particle effect powers should be able to recolour really.

and that is why i cant keep a veat or heat long enough to pass lvl 10. The concept is solid.

I can make a widow a vampire or a soldier a werewolf.. eventually. But they will always have started as Arachnos.

Every Kheld is a alien bonded being. Its in you re AT.. youre origin... you re missions. You can't ignore this. Its just way too much. For roleplay you would actually rewrite youre own origin and ignore all stuff you do along youre line of levelling.

Now I'd like it if you could re-colour kheldian powers, but can see that it's blatantly nonsense to suggest that kheldian powers are just like any others. IIRC the forms and powers are linked to the kheldian energy, which could easily be written in unseen pages of the game bible as having a set spectrum leading to set powers baked in to the AT.

If this is the case, then I guess the only valid in-game reason for re-colouring kheld powers would be if something had modified the energy spectrum - like a mutation, illness, perverse experimentation...

The key thing is: even if the colours are baked in to the AT origin story, there does exist the possibility of these extraordinairy modifications and so colour modification, whilst it would probably be rare, should be possible.

Of course, as a non in-game explanation, number of Kheldian characters and number of powers unique to kheldians probably makes them lower priority for the initial pass at power customisation. Hopefully they make it into the second pass.

Yep, I'd be wary of promised "second passes". I'd prefer them to get it all done in one lump, delaying the release if needs be.

Half-implementing something which is a key feature of the issue doesn't seem like a good way to be doing things (although previously implemented things like the MA, Cimororororia, base changes & the half-done mess that is PvP seem to indicate that's the way Posi expects his team to deliver).
