Tolerance?

strange those farming missions i've mentioned in other posts must have been removed for other reasons then?

and sure the've been replaced but there replacments dont offer the same amount of mob spawns per map = less XP per run sounds like a move aghenst farming to me.

You could argue that the whole MA/farming/Atlas farm broadcast spam could have been avoided with just a little bit of thought - prior to implementing it.

I like those farm maps being available for when I want them. Nothing gets one of my stalled toons out of a rut better than smashing it up a level or two.

Agreed there great for when you've hit that block where you don't seem to be getting any where.

There also great for seeing how many spawns a brute (or any other toon for that matter) can get through before his end bottoms out or he dies.

Used to play that game with my Elec/Fire brute and MaX's Rad/Therm corr before MA, since MA we've found that its the agro cap in bosses

Yup and maybe its just a villain side thing but Ive yet to get a generic "team" tell or a blind invite from a farm team have always received something like "hi want to come farm with us" which has all the info i need to decide if i want to join them or not.

I count myself lucky, then, that one random blueside MA invite I received recently was from someone play-testing his missions with a full group.

When you have an eight-man team in the mid-teens and the leader/author says "this boss stopped my lvl30 scrapper", then you know you're in trouble

Blueside Union: Starblayde (Blaster), Pax Imperia (Tanker), Pax Britannia (Defender)
Redside Union: Natasha Redshade (Stalker)

That's not a farm though, that's more like those teams you join and you see a stream of "Oh ^&^%*%" and "Rez Please" along with "Yay, more people". The level 12s lead by someone 2 levels higher than them, running on Invincible for the 'great XP'.

I have noticed a huge drop in invites for lowbies in Atlas. But any Farming tells I do get state "Hi. Looking for Farm?" rather than being just a random blind invite, which is a good thing.

Villains side mid-20s/30s the number of normal invites seems about the same, not that that's ever a very big number anyway.

Hence why I counted myself lucky, but that was mostly for play-testing rather than phat XP. I've thankfully had no 'want to farm?' or random team invites that turned out to be farms, either. Evidently they don't use the LFT system blueside, either, as I'm always on that.

I think there's far too much 'LFF' being broadcast in Atlas, but they's paying their money just like I am.

Then you must be quite lucky, as all i get the last weeks is tells like "Wanna farm?" or "Farm?" from people who doesn't even bother to read a search comment.. There are some exceptions now and then, but they are becoming extremely rare to find, especially if you have a 44+ char active..

We couldn't kill an agro cap of AVs, but I'm willing to give EBs a go for sure

I overwhelmingly got the impression that Posi thinks it's their game, they know what's best and sod the paying customer.

[/ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
It IS their game. They can't give players what they want because players want everything, they want it now, and they don't even want the same things as each other. You can't build an MMO on that basis.

Posi, like Jack Emmert and any other lead designer in the industry, have to have a "vision" for the game and they have to take a chance on that vision finding the audience they need to keep them in jobs.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sorry Burning. this is so wrong that to find wrong you'de have to double back on yourself.
This is a commercial product. Not a painting you create to put on your own living room wall.
It's like The Sinclair car. that was his car, wasn't it?
Fat lot of good it did him.

That is not how to run any business, never mind one that requires customer loyalty because you want them to keep shelling out month after month.

No-one in their right mind, in charge of a product with this amount of money attached to it goes on "their " vision.
It's like commercial suicide.
And yes I know Emmert did and now positron does too. Maybe its something to do with the way game designers think.
Or that the bosses don't have a proper business acumen.

You're supposed to find out how to make the game as
commercially viable as you can by research and deliver it.

That's it.

It's not an exact science but it's not rocket science either.
