Meh. No snow here this year. Actually we began to get less and less snow in each winter passing. Only rains and some insane hot days (for winter season of course) in Istanbul.

I miss my childhood winters when we could roll in the snow.

we are supposed to be getting anything up to 20cm of snowfall tonight here in the UK

[/ QUOTE ]

Well it did snow but we had closer to 20mm than 20cm in Milton Keynes. It has just started snowing again, quite large flakes too so if that keeps up all day we might reach their target. I don't have to go anywhere so it doesn't bother me - looks quite nice actually - but those who have to go to work today are probably not too happy.

People (most of them) have lost the art of driving in bad conditions like heavy snow. I had to drive home in about 5 inches of the stuff in a little Renault 5 Turbo many moons ago. I didn't squeeze one wheelspin from that ferocious little front wheel drive car. You see BMW's today with their rear wheels spinning in an inch of the stuff as their drivers plant their foot in the carpet.

Anyway, I'm not building a snowman, it's cold out there...

This must be the effect of that new global warming religion.

You know, the one where:
if it warms up it's due to global warming
if it gets colder it's due to global warming
if it rains it's due to global warming
if it doesn't rain it's due to global warming
if it snows it's due to global warming
if it doesn't snow it's due to global warming
if it's windy it's due to global warming
ad flamin' infinitum...

I didn't even try to get to work in London. Phoned in, and there wasn't anyone else thier either!

I guess I have no choice but to spend the day playing CX...

We seem to be having a "snow event" according to Auntie BBC.

Ahh, the perennial British occupation of talking about the weather and show the country a snowflake and it grinds to a halt.

Nice idea ML but I'm gonna stick indoors and keep warm!

I heard the 5 year plague of no weather at all (bar some localised atmospheric fog) that Paragon City has been experiencing is all down to Global Warming too.

Don't start this discussion please. Not on a game forum at least.

Of course we all know WHO is responisible for the snow right?

Well, I did plan to do a nice Carnie Illusionist snow sculpture but I can't find any chickenwire in the shed to support the arms and dress bustle - I guess I'm going to have to put my Ray Mears survival skills to the test by building an Arachnos themed Igloo instead.

I - may - be - sometime.

heh while some of you may have been snowed in, unfortunately I walk to work...and the snow wont be stopping me doing that (and despite the fact all the other staff bar one have to catch buses and thus wont be able to make it in, the District Manager is still very unlikely to let us be closed for the day...)

Sitting at my desk with 3 other people in the office from a 150 head company. Snow is settling in central London for the first time in my life (I'm 36).

That was taken earlier this morning, and we've had another couple of inches on top of that.

It's still snowing.

I wouldn't mind, but I have to walk 2 miles to work in 20 minutes.

If I were you, I'd leave now... Walking tends to be slower in the snow as the ground is pretty slippery...

Well he has been controlling the weather for years...someone should get out there and stop the dastardly brass fiend from causing abnormal amounts of snow for my area of England!

I would but it's far too cold...

Well thats obvious!, Its the Wrong Type of Snow™ that clearly our infrastructure was not designed to handle.
The rest of the snowbound world must be in fits of laughter at fragile little Blighty grinding to a halt over a couple of inches of snow.

It is rather nice snow though, I've just cleared the pathways (for what its worth) and rather impressed with this Russian brand, - really dense and great to build with!.
Its even hanging off the sides of my car in great slabs!, the sides!!! ... thats not even possible is it?, Its vertical!, Its non-porous!, Its defying the laws of physics Capt.!, Its not just not right .

On the European front, Lots of places get weather far more extreme that our little flurry - Geneva was hit by an Ice-Storm on Wednesday,... Unlucky for this guy who parked next to Lake Geneva: Good Luck defrosting that mate.
