Moving stuff and inf between toons?

This came up in another thread and I know a fair few people that do it, but I actually am left wondering how many people actually do do this.

Please reply with a yes or a not, and any views you do have on this

Iv done it quite a few times and helped others do it. Nothing wrong with it imo, makes your new characters life much easier.

If i need something on another character, and somebody i trust is about and free, then yes. A few mill inf when the SOs expire, or that rare salvage you have on another character which your current one needs, etc.

Mostly when I remake characters.
Or when I reach level 32 and can't afford a full upgrade of IOs/SOs.

I don't. But that's not to say there is anything wrong in doing it. Just I like my alts to make there own way in life

I have and will help others to transfer. But I'm a hard taskmaster for my own Alts (but they all love me really )

Yep, every char i make i give a lump of inf too.

Nothing wrong with it at all.

Yep all the time why make things hard for yourself when making your 17th lvl 50

Also i forgot to say having two accounts makes this very easy to do

I certainly do

I do it all the time I use 2 toons as banks " iI put anythng i wish to keep i.e rare salvage or recipes i wish to make up on to them. I also consolidate what I'vr earnt in a week on to 1 at the end f the week. I find it easier to have my inf in 1 place for when i want to kit out a toon.

I used to be against it but once I got a couple of 50s under my belt and I was kitting out Scarlet with IO sets etc, but still playing other toons it became the only feasable way of doing things.

I used to be kind of against it but I had something of an epiphany on the subject and I would love to be able to shovel at least inf between toons.

I do however see an issue wtih rare salvage and recipes being stored longer term and wonder if we have that facility how it might affect the game economy

I quite often give new characters a little inf to start them off in life. Why not, it removes some of the minor frustrations of having to play the early levels again.

you do you have the vault on each of your toons you can also store on the market pluss as i do on a toon i dont use for much now other than a form of storage. May have to change the name as 1 is called empty wallet.

We have got that facility, store recipes on chars or on the auction, and salvage in the vault.

I cant see that its had any effect on the economy one way or the other.

If you get something you want you keep it, if you dont you sell it.

All the time, and I farm with one pair of characters and pass that on to the ones I'm levelling. Never had anything against it.

Indeed usually through the enhancment storage in my solo SG

Yes, usually I get a rich alt to fill the SG base with suitable SOs for levelling lower toons.

They really should let us trade between alts without ridiculous workarounds though.

i don't, don't have an account storage.

Since it was me who started this in conversation, I guess I should stick my oar in.

I have a couple of viewpoints. Personally, I don't do much of this, though that's as much to do with the fact that I really can't be bothered to go to all the trouble of circumventing the game mechanics which make it hard to do as any 'ethical' considerations.

If I'm being strict roleplay, then it's terribly naughty unless all your alts know each other, which is generally considered to be very juvenile RP practice anyway. However, I stopped caring how other people roleplay a while back, just so long as they don't try to ram it up my nose. You get lousy roleplayers in the best of circles, and if you don't learn to essentially ignore it then you end up giving up the hobby entirely.

Clearly, however, when Cryptic originally designed the game, they had stricter practices in mind. I doubt it was for terribly pure roleplay reasons, and had more to do with controlling the power level in the under 30 range. Circumventing that has possibly been one thing which has resulted in nerfs... I doubt anyone who does twink their characters has considered that while doing it.

Anyway, the last thing I swapped between characters was a Revolver recipe, and I did that by sticking it on the CH at a slightly high price and then buying it on the character that wanted it.

I do have Enhancement storage in my SG base (and my SG consists of my alts and those of my RL partner). When I did the Invention turtorial on my 50, the resulting level 30 IO went into storage for someone to pick up when needed. It was that or sell it. I did add the storage on the theory that I could buy enhancements for alts and pass them through the base, but I've yet to actually need to bother, and the alt I'm currently levelling most isn't even in the SG! Quite frankly it's easy enough to make Inf and with IOs there's even less need to be forking out money all the time for enhancements. Unless, of course, that you just have to have the mondo-ultimate build every 5 levels, which just isn't necessary in this game.

I'd love to have a better way to pass items between characters. My main is a badger and a crafter and so does all the enhancement crafting for my alts on that server as he slowly churns his way to Fabricator.

It would be extremely useful to be able to pass invention salvage and recipes to him from the alts in the SG (I suppose if you looked at it from an RP point of view, which I don't really, they all know each other as they are in the same SG) so he could craft items for them.

I was using characters on my second account to pass items across but I have recently had to cancel that account for budgetary reasons

So yeah, I pass items between characters and would like a way to pass invention salvage and recipes more easily.

I regularly pass items onto my alts and have also helped other people do it.

I hope that sometime in the future the devs implement some sort of account vault so any of your alts can access items there, or a mailing service so I can transfer items and inf easily to my other alts (something similar to the EvE mailing system).

I'm doing a lot of this at the moment.

Working on the crafting badges for my main, so my 2nd account "resource gatherer" transfers stuff every other run.

As for crafted stuff, that what I have a base for.
