Moving stuff and inf between toons?
[ QUOTE ]
Unless, of course, that you just have to have the mondo-ultimate build every 5 levels, which just isn't necessary in this game
[/ QUOTE ]
No but it does help when your lvl 50 and want to pvp with the best toon you can make,
I do this all the time, it helps soften the shock of lower levels. The only pain is sometimes finding a forumite or veteran to help with the transfer.

I always transfer one mill inf onto a new starting character, not for enhancements etc... but solely to buy the hallowe'en salvage - I like having a minimum of 2 costumes on my characters, I'm what's known as "Vain"!

Not as much as I used to since Inventions got implemented - I usually make enough cash flogging off recipes and salvage to kit my toons up to lvl 30 in SOs. If I've been lucky and picked up something that goes for a few mil I'm then able to kit out a lvl 32 toon in lvl 35 IOs, otherwise I'll spot them a few mil from an alt via a sg or global chum. Then all remaining funds get saved up for kitting out the toon with sets, shipping in inf from other alts if I am looking at expensive sets.

I fit out with IOs from level 12, then respec at 27/32 for some of those back and upgrade to 30/35 IOs which last until I start my final slotting at 47+.
My first set of lvl15 IOs are crafted by a single character and most of the salvage will have been acquired by my characters up to that point so the cost isn't huge IMO (memorised recipes ftw).
Want to see either a SG or account recipe and invention store, preferably account based, of a decent size. The rest is fairly easy to manage, any SOs picked up at 50 go into the store and lowbie characters can flog them for inf.

Yes!
Y'know, I've kind of changed my mind about this one, but mostly on a 'that's not fair' basis having dropped back into WoW today.
Over there in the "most popular MMO in the world" it's real easy to send items to yourself, or money. Instant transfer via mail. You can instant transfer between accounts, by actually walking up to someone and trading, but as an anti-gold selling measure, transfers's by mail take an hour.
Her in CoX it's almost exactly the opposite. Since you can't send anything via mail, if you're solo you cannot swap things within your account, but you can hand over as much Inf or enhancements as you like to other players.
So, WoW has a practical limitation designed to discourage gold sellers, and CoH has a badly out-dated system, relatively easily circumvented, for economy control that doesn't apply any more anyway. Stuff that, give us easy intra-account transfers.

This came up in another thread and I know a fair few people that do it, but I actually am left wondering how many people actually do do this.
Please reply with a yes or a not, and any views you do have on this

Yes - very often - in pretty much every MMO - very definitely in CoH/V. I have no problem with it. Imho how I use anything I earn as a player is up to me.
I chuck 5mill inf at every character I get to L12, to fund their IOs at L15+, up until they become self-supporting around L25-30ish (when they re-slot with mostly set IOs) - I get the 5mill inf from whichever one of my L50s can spare it. Also when I get any character near L47ish Ill use several of my existing L50s (whichever has inf to spare) to bid on whatever L50 IOs that character needs for their final build (I rarely use purples, but otherwise anything goes).
I also have my L50s spread-bidding constantly on IOs I use a lot, but that I've found hard to buy at short notice - those IOs go into base storage for any of my characters that need them. I also store in the Vault all rare salvage that drops worth 25k+ (and some historically expensive commons too, like alch silver, rune, luck charm), then if one of my characters gets a recipe but doesnt have the rare(s) for it I can get my friend to transfer that salvage over from a character that does have it.
By being patient/frugal like this I get IOs much cheaper than the going rate and dont get ripped-off on salvage either, so I dont have to farm to afford the good stuff. I do arbitrage or other market schemes sometimes if all my L50s get low on inf, but I can usually get by on inf earned while levelling, smart bidding/selling, and the proceeds from selling any purples or other decent drops I dont need.
An easier way to transfer recipes/salvage between characters on the same account would be appreciated - until then I'm just glad I'm in a 2-person SG both sides with a friend I trust who is usually online at the same times I am.
I never transfer Inf / salvage / recipes.
My higher level chars craft a lot of their found recipes and put the IOs in our SG storage bins (small SG with a couple free for all IO-bins, a free for all HO-bin and an extra bin for "reserved" stuff).
But I very rarely craft a IO on one char with the sole pupose to slot it on an alt.
For my first few toons, I didn't do it because the game was fresh and I wanted to explore it "raw" so to speak. But after a year I started transferring inf, and now I do it all the time. No reason not to now, as I've seen and done most of the game.

[/ QUOTE ]I'm the opposite but just with common IOs. I work on what they need, craft it on my main and then drop it in a bin for my alt to pick up.
I also tend to drop a million on my alts whenever I can just to give them a boost.

I am irritated beyond belief that the game that I consider to be better than any out there because of its QOL features does not have a feature where you can pass inf to alts, which all those others have.
I have tons of alts and would very much like an easier way to get them inf other than begging people to help me.
I hate begging

Irritated beyond belief by a missing feature in an online game? Blimey, I tremble at the thought of how angry you must get at real annoyances like traffic jams or having run out of milk.
Just stay well clear of gamma rays, OK?
I dont have anything against it, although I dont do it a lot myself.
I have done it from my main to one of my alts by crafting a rare IO and passing to my alt via the SG storage. I then sold it on the alt for a few million.
The reason I did it was because I had rediculously bad luck with his drops. I usually will get enough rare stuff to sell to keep the toon plodding along , but with this one all I ever got was common stuff that went for a few 100 each.
I think I would do it more if there was an easy way of doing it as my main has a few mill on him that isn't going to be used any time soon.

I think you should be able to post what ever you what to who ever you want when ever you want, preferably via Wentworths. This seems to be the no1 requested QOL improvement that the Devs take great delight in ignoring ..

Boerewors on the M25.
With some of QoL stuff added in the last issue i would think that something like this would have be passed around the table at NCNC at some point not going to hold my breath or anything for it's implementation but i'm looking to the future

Oh yes - I'm fairly sure this is on the "Don't want to" list at NCSoft, rather than "Want to but too much work".
perhaps a global server influence and infamy account?
if u make any amount of influence on any hero char on a chosen server. then every hero on that server has access to the inf that you made. same for your villains and infamy.
if u change servers, u start clean. they could also give us a global vault. where u can access all salvage recipes and enhancements that are stored on any of your chars person. basically whatever they are holding, not what is stored in sg bases or auctions.
just a loose idea. maybe its a good one maybe not :P
I have 2 accounts, bless me.
I transfer recipies, salvage and inf TO my Main Crafter.
With a little inf to the newbies here and there if they need it.
I do craft IO's at various levels for the badges, and often use them on other alts.

i dont exactly get what ur tryin to say but whatever
anyway not everyone puts all their effort to have 2 accounts on a game which means to me thats just way too much time to be spendin on a game.
i got one account and i dont really have a problem with the way it is now. i can easily transfer from alt to alt either by way of the resources inside my awesome sg/vg base, or i have many friends throughout the game and my main sg that will help me transfer and i wont feel like its a burden or i'm beggin any1.
however a global server influence/infamy feature may help lots of peeps who dont have multi accounts or many friends.
picture makin a new hero and he already has access to all the influence you been earning on that server. same if u go to villz. idk, doesnt sound too bad to me. unless youre sharing your account with some1 else.
