  1. Good news for the UK players, I guess.

    I hope the connection from continental europe to the US has improved in the last few years, because the game was nearly unplayable for me on NA Trial accounts due to heavy lag back in '07.

    Admittedly some strings will be clientside, but I think the problem is that much is server-side and changing it to a client-side implementation is potentially a big job.
    It's both client and server side.

    Interface language client side, mission text, NPC chatter etc. server side.

    Ireland and the UK are not part of the Shengen Area, therefore passports are needed for travel between the islands and continental europe.

  8. We have a few overzealous politicians and district attorneys who love to rage against video games, but a lot of the foreign news coverage is blown out of proportions or is simply a rumour (like the "the 5th Column was removed from CoH because of german laws" legend)

    What concerned me this year after the Winnenden school shooting was a bill to ban paintball. Thankfully the politicians reconsidered it after massive protests.

    You're right, the german forums aren't very busy.
    Zukunft is a very low pop server and a lot of us are more active on the gamergy.de forums (multi-gaming fan forums started by some EU-Beta players).

    farming isnt a bad thing. Everyone makes it seem as if someone farms they are not playing the game properly. well infact they are. its just a faster way of leveling and getting good influence/infamy seeing as a good build costs a lot.     Well, 3 hours to lvl 50 is not "speeding it up", it's an utterly ridiculous shortcut.

    If you think that that is okay, then you probably are in favour of "free 50's on demand", too?

    Time to reach level 50 has sunken drastically over the years, more than 100 hours and you are "slow" (as am I - I'm not in a hurry to get yet another char to 50).

    I don't think that 100 hours is too long, but ymmw.
  12. Die Wartung des Accountsystems wurde einen Tag vorher auf der Webseite bekanntgegeben.
    Da die Accountverwaltung sämtliche NCSoft-Spiele umfasst (und z.B. Guild Wars kein offizielles Forum hat) halte ich das für ausreichend.
    Zusätzliche Mitteilungen in den Foren der Spiele, die ein solches haben, wären sicher nett gewesen, aber keinesfalls zwingend notwendig.

    Positions- und Schadensart-Defense addieren sich nicht auf, auch hier wird nur der jeweils höhere Wert genommen.

    For clarity:

    Monthly Access refers to the number of unique accounts that logged in during a monthly period. It does not include subscribers who did not login during that month, and does include any trial accounts that logged in.

    Concurrency refers to the number of unique accounts logged in simultaneously, at a global scale. Highest (or peak) concurrency is the maximum such figure achieved during a given period.

    I'm pretty sure that's a typo and GR left out a "not" - or NCSoft changed what the numbers represent.
    It was previously explained on the US boards, that trial accounts are not counted for monthly access numbers.

    Später wurde das auf Level 6 geändert.

  22. Bis jetzt wurden meines Wissens noch nie Charaktere gelöscht.

    Lediglich Namen von Charakteren unter Level 6 auf Accounts, die länger als 90 Tage inaktiv sind, werden freigegeben (d.h. es kann passieren, dass der Charakter plötzlich "GenericHero0815" heißt)
