Yes it was Coin, i think he had a blog on the go as well.
Not sure if he got to 50 or not though.

i.e. did they do it only playing missions within a handful of levels of their combat level rather than going from 1 to 50 purely in PI attached (in a way some unkind souls might describe as leech-like) to a willing 46+.

Yeah, tis me and yeah, still going......veerrrrrrryyy slowly!!
It's actually very, very, very, very dull, without a team and they are nigh on impossible to get on Defiant for me recently, so I log into our intrepid hero once in a while and get a bit more xp for him
Seriously, the worst part of it is not having rest, having to wait for the health and end to regen between fights is such a nightmare
But I'll get there.....one day

I was actually thinking of tyring to race the OP but then I'm probably just a worthless fool with too much time on his hands!!
Rolled an Ill/FF Troller and named him "Pointlessness" on Union.
Completed all missions in Atlas from my starting contact, before moving into the sewers for some group hunting.
Suprisingly easier than I expected to solo about 6 +0s
Ended my first play on the toon, leaving him at level 8.

gratz... though I think it'll get harder!
iirc various AT-specific modifiers (such as dmg) only kick in at level 10+, so a lvl 2 defender or troller hits as hard as a level 2 anything. I can imagine brawl getting slightly tedious when you know it's not even the best a 1-slotted brawl could be.

If you are around our levels (25-26) you can join us, Psychic Patrol team whenever you feel like it on Saturday nights. We start around 19:00 BST.
For extra masochism, you could also do what another forum member did and try to do it 1-50 without dying. If the toon is killed at any point, it's deleted and re-rolled.
If you are mad enough to go for that, keep us all updated. If you ever ding 50, we'll be dead impressed and then move onto discussing the issue 47 announcement

I know you've already started, but I can imagine illusion/TA being pretty good for this, as TA's first power will set up containment for you (as well as providing some decent control), so you will be doing twice as much damage throughout most of the game!

Don't forget, you have to be level 5 to be eligible for the reward from a safeguard mission. Might want to wait for that 30 day booster rocket pack if that's what you're thinking.

You need a willing friend with Tp then
I wouldnt buy a 30 day jet pack on principle though, but thats just me.
*NEWS UPDATE*
Went for a Illusion/Forcefield Controller, named "Pointlessness"
Chose Blind and Personal Forcefield.
Blind is about the 5th highest damage of any chooseable powers at level 1, plus it has the chance to hold nearby enemies, which might be extremely helpful.
Personal Forcefield is sortof a "Panic Button". Thought it would save my bones more often than Stone Skin

I'm going to level a toon from 1-50 without ever hitting a trainer
That's right, i'll solo my way through 49 levels using ONLY the powers I pick up at level 1 and the various Veteran Rewards i've accquired. No slots, 3 Insps.
It will be done.
