  1. How would a Fire//Fire Scrapper do in zonal PvP?

    I was just thinking with BuildUp, FieryEmbrace, GreaterFireSword and landing a Critical would result in a dead blaster?
    Any advice? I'm a complete nub to PvP and am wanting to start to get involved srysly.

    5 Bonus Cap?

    While creating a godly build in Mids, it came up saying that a power has exceeded the 5 bonus cap, for the 10% recharge of the set. What is this cap all about, and how can I avoid it?

    Bad timing ( I know ) but my computer has decided to pack up on me and stop working completely. I'm not a man of technology enough to sort it out myself so therefore I will be unable to play with you on my computer. I do, however, have a laptop than runs CoH; in missions and on maps the Laptop runs perfectly smooth without a single problem, but the loading times for these maps take a good while and I can lose connection unexpectedly during these loading times.

    Anyway;
    I have tried a couple of different builds to find one suitable for our team and can't manage fit in Recall Friend without gimping my toon. So i'm leaving it out. I will have Group Invis and Assault+Tactics by level 16 though. I'm focusing quite a bit on the deBuff side of things, our team is lacking in damage now that we have no blaster and numerous defenders and controllers so I thought it would be more helpful.

    I can do both Friday and Sunday.
    I'll also fit the leadership pool into my build, can't wait to see these mobs drop with all the debuffs and damage, and later AV's will be no issue.

    Jeez, sorry for sounding controlling! I really didn't mean it to come across like that.
    I was just adding my two cents for people in case they didn't know what powersets to play. I'm not even in charge of the team in the slightest!
    So, my apologies if I've offended or turned anyone off of the idea. Ignore my earlier post.

    Back on topic,
    I was playing the STF last night and we had an unbeievable amount of struggle on the last mission with the AV's because we lacked damage and debuffs. We managed to get the the last mission without a single problem, but ended up leaving the TF because we'd spent half an hour ranging GW with two blasters and two controllers and she still had full health.
    Convinced me to go with a Illusion//Rad for extra debuffs and pets.
    If you have a list, definatly put me on it for that AT.

    This was actually one of the other powers I considered, I just thought I should really play more on the defensive side of things. Xp will be slow enough without all the extra debt! Plus walking from the hospital everytime will drive me nutty.

    Concerning travelling - I often use SS as my main Travel Power, without any form of major jump, and still beat the toons with Fly and sometimes SJ with taking detours because of high walls and such. This has given me a really decent understanding of all the maps, so sprint will just be a lot slower version of this. I have the Jump Pack already, so I won't be terribly stuck ever (thinking of skyway here ). PFF + Sprint + A lot of patience.

    Thanks for the support, will definatly have to pick myself up a SG with the majority of TPs.

    Rolled an Ill/FF Troller and named him "Pointlessness" on Union.
    Completed all missions in Atlas from my starting contact, before moving into the sewers for some group hunting.
    Suprisingly easier than I expected to solo about 6 +0s
    Ended my first play on the toon, leaving him at level 8.

    *NEWS UPDATE*
    Went for a Illusion/Forcefield Controller, named "Pointlessness"
    Chose Blind and Personal Forcefield.
    Blind is about the 5th highest damage of any chooseable powers at level 1, plus it has the chance to hold nearby enemies, which might be extremely helpful.
    Personal Forcefield is sortof a "Panic Button". Thought it would save my bones more often than Stone Skin

    Current Level: 8

    Let's face it, after almost 4 years of CoH, playing every powerset to 38 and trying every single attack in the game, things get a bit boring.
    I've decided to try something new;

    I'm going to level a toon from 1-50 without ever hitting a trainer

    That's right, i'll solo my way through 49 levels using ONLY the powers I pick up at level 1 and the various Veteran Rewards i've accquired. No slots, 3 Insps.
    It will be done.
  11. 8 Toons, facing 8 man spawns of high level enemies.
    Will need to be a fairly balanced team when we do this, i was thinking;

    1) Stone Tank, undeniably the best Tanker in the game.
    2) Empath Defender, for the heals and buffs.
    3) ?/Rad Controller, debuffs and holds!
    4) ?/Kin Controller, different buffs and holds!
    5) Spines/Dark or spines/Fire Scrapper for superior AoE damage.
    6) Fire/? Blaster for general obscene damage.
    7) Ice/? Blaster for Slows.
    8) PB or WS for the ability to adapt to the team's needs.

    Everyone should grab the Leadership pool and the brave souls could skip a travel power because the stone tanks should have tp.
    Would love for this to work.

    Use this mainly to stop the random stragglers, if i down a mob and there's just one guy left - don't particularly want to waste a fireball with him. 5 Slotted for the 10% Recharge, allows me to nip Perma Haste.

    Back when i originally began farming, I had no knockback protection - hover gave me the protection that I needed. Plus I enjoy the feel of capped fly speed and float at head level of the mobs. Not sure if it still does, but back in i7 you could float over a mob, they'd take hot feet damage and couldn't melee you.

    Figured that with an enhanced base +169% accuracy and 183% recharge and slotting the powers with 83% accuracy and 83% recharge enhancements I wouldn't need to six slot them.
    Could only get an extra 10% on each per slot, thought I could find a more effective use for them.

    I've taken Tough and Weave just because I realised i'm practically capped for defense - I love to grab as much as I can and need to guarentee myself NO downtime for anything. Exra defence means less heals which means more attacks. That and I couldn't find anything better to waste three powers on that would be half as effective ;D

    Not too fluent with Battle Maiden map - from what I remember, it's easy to miss a few mobs.

    Any other input is definatly needed and greatly appreciated!

  15. Hey guys,
    I'm pretty new to the forums, but have been playing since i2 untill i7 where I took a long break from the game. Having returned, 5 issues onwards, a lot has changed in the aspect of power slotting.

    I created my fire/kin, Futz, in issue 3, before ED and used him for farming the Dreck mission to help fund my many other alts throughout their levels, PLing my friends and just running the map because i enjoyed the feel of his awesomeness. All of this has left him with a hefty 800 Million Inf
    Now that i'm returning, i've lost my Dreck map and have collected the Family mission from Unai.

    This build is set to farm Family only; no exemping, no travel powers, nothing unecessary. Inf is no problem as i can easily pick up some more. If anyone can tell me if/where i'm going wrong and give some general slotting advice,
