Or don't Aadvarks suffer from nervous excitement?

[/ QUOTE ]

I have no idea what Aadvarks suffer from, but this Aardvark gets that butterflies in the stomach feeling from his bushbaby.

Certainly not a chunk of wood pretending that he's an actor

But he's certainly no Hayden

Ah, you like Hayden Panettiere too? Wouldn't call her buff though... more curvalicious.

Very curvalicious...

I'm still wondering which Hayden GG is talking about...

Go here, here, here and here to be informed

I figured you meant him...but I only saw Star Wars and Jumper with him...can't remember him being particulary buff Then again...I don't look for that

Why, back in my day, a man could get himself arrested for such things.

Actually I always thought he's a very good character actor, he can play the antipathetic git amazingly well, I mean in Jumper I kept rooting for Samuel L. Jackson to brutally murder the villainous Hayden and... what?! wait. what do mean Hayden was the good guy in that movie?!

Nah, I liked Hayden a lot better in Jumper...although he was still Anakin to me. Especially because those electric stick thingies Samuel used looked remarkably like lightsabers.

Would have loved to see Eminem playing that role instead of Hayden though.

Well, in defence of the ad's I had no idea the movie was coming and just sought out the trailer on the apple site, so it has worked to a certain extent. I'll wait until it's on Sky movies though!

Ok then - "Quality in Vin Diesel Movies - the Missing Factor?" - discuss.

But a little more seriously, the ad system is at least generating quite a bit of interest, which is good.

I thought Pitch Black was a cracking little film...

Less said about The Chronicles of Riddick the better though

Saving Private Ryan, Boiler Room and Find Me Guilty were all examples of how good he can be when he finds the right role, and yes, Pitch Black suited him. I’ve not see a lot of the other stuff he’s done, but xXx was meh.

Posted

xXx was meh mostly from [censored] story and such. Can't blame it all on Vin Diesel.
I quite liked him in "A Man Apart" for some reason.

No way, Evil Ted...

Good Vin Diesel Movie: Pitch Black.
Simple principle (attack by monsters you can't see, the only one who can see them and therefore save your scrawny hide is probably much scarier than they are). Simple and sharp.

Bad Vin Diesel Movie: Chronicles Of Riddick, Pt.1
Take simple streamlined character from prev. movie. Dump in thirty thousand tons of pseudo-religious rubbish, bring in emo stormtroopers a go-go as your new enemy, pen a script that doesn't quite make as much sense as Star Wars Ep.2, stalk Judi Dench to the point where she's deciding between taking the cheque or the restraining order, blow $110,000,000 on the whole shebang and make $57m back from it...

*gasp*

...that's really not good for one's career.

Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

Like the effect on the advetisment that makes it look like a real billboard poster, aka it comes in squares.

[/ QUOTE ]
I just wanted to highlight this point before it gets drowned in the Vin Diesel squee/blech-fest The poster effect impressed me as well when I saw my first in-game ad last night in Nerva (on a billboard in Crimson Cove). It shows that either the advertisers or the Devs are making an effort to ensure the ads look convincing from an in-game immersion standpoint, which soothes one of my main worries from when in-game ads were first announced.

Also a friend had to point the ad out to me - that's how unobtrusive it was for me personally. Admittedly that could have been because the Babylon AD posters are nice and subdued colour-wise. I'm still concerned as to how an advert with brighter colours might contrast with the usual Rogue Isles colour palette (though I guess with red/white longbow uniforms everywhere that's a moot point): In Planetside the bases were subdued blues/greys, so the bright orange/white Fanta adverts on the walls looked daft and rather tacky compared to the film posters there (although they made no sense either from an immersion perspective as Planetside is set about 2 centuries in the future on alien worlds - a problem at least CoH/V doesn't have).

At least when I looked at the ad in CoH/V I didn't get a spike of lag - in Planetside the tracking software SOE used to track when you looked at adverts was more intrusive than the adverts themselves (and there was no option to opt out).

So I'll keep adverts on for now, at least until I run up against an advert that is glaringly obtrusive. GR, where would you like the feedback for obtrusive adverts to go? On the forums? Or an email/PM to you? I'm assuming a petition would waste your customer support people's time, and it wouldn't fall under /bug either.

The rogue isles posters ive seen had a weatherbeaten effect (part of the billboard rather than the poster itself?).

On the one hand, it keeps the poster blended, but on the other, it spoils the immersion aspect of someone going round putting up new posters.

I really should do something about this signature.

A Man Apart was an entertaining film, I'd forgotten who stared in it though

"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled

They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk

Eight legs, one body, silk,

Still haven't seen one Not that this is what the bean-counters want to hear, but I *must* have been past lots of these.

I just haven't had them intrude on me. To be fair, whilst running through a zone I am more intent on catching up on team chat than looking at the environment I've run through 72 times before.

No complaints here, and yes I checked, they are turned on
