Cimerora doesn't count as time travel?

Hi folks.

I'm curious about something that could be construed as a bug. However, I'm not sure if I've missed something.

IIRC, the Ouroboros portal temp power was assigned to any character who had experienced time travel in the course of their adventures. However, the other day on my MM, after having gained access to Cimerora and travelled back to meet Imperious, I noted that no shiny Ouroboros portal had appeared in my tray. (She's never done any time travel arcs, so has never gained it.)

So here's the question: Does travelling to Cimerora not count as time travel to the Menders or has there been some clever explanation weaved around it that I'm not aware of. I note that Montague states that the crystal going to Cimerora circumvents Ouroboros, but that doesn't seem to have stopped them handing out the power to other time travel events.

Any ideas?

[SPOILER]
The Menders are unaware that you've used that crystal. Completely. The portal is tied to the 'secret' of the Menders (their intentions aside), hence it'd be a bit weird if using the Midnighter's crystal allows you to meet Silos (for whatever means of his). Note the letter at the end of the ITF, on how we've used a 'unregistered crystal'. It's all a bit underhand on the part of our Heroes/Villains

If we presume that the 'normal' time travel events are merely fixed points on the timeline that the menders use, as an excuse to invite you to Ouroborous, then the use of a Crystal they don't know about would give the lack of the portal given for it, some amount of sense

Correct me if I'm mistaken (I usually am), but you say you only get the ouroborus power if you've traveled in time? I can honestly say I've never traveled in time before I got the ouroborus power and havent done so scince outside of the ouroborus missions.

So how did I get the power?

The power is tied to arcs/badges that involve time travel. So:

Any of the RV badges
The souvenirs from Faultline
The Souvenirs from 'Echo through the Aeons'
The souvenirs from Ubelmann
The explore badge in the zone itself

Quite a few others that I cannot recall right now...

Basically, you may never have travelled through time, but you've been *exposed* to time travel [Spoiler] Such as changing the past re: Faultline, with the PCM

Going to Cimerora indeed should unlock the "Entrusted with the Secret" badge, once you step out of the Midnighter's Club into Cimerora.

After doing a Search, I found a thread about suggestions to Cimerora on the French section of the EU forums.
I couldn't post in French and don't want to start a new thread here, but some suggestions how I would have liked to see Cimerora:

Overall it could have been similar to the Rikti War Zone.
A Merit system in place that helps the besieged population of the village to craft armours and weapons.
In this case the *Merits* would be parts taken from the traitors, call it *Scrap Metal* instead of *Merit*.

Bring those to a local smithy to help them make new arms and armours.
Doing this would have worked like the terminals inside the Vanguard base in RWZ, unlocking the costume parts that are now rewarded for doing the TF, and maybe some temp powers like Scutum, Pila and Gladius (shield, spear, sword).

The *Merits* could have been rewarded for doing Marcus Valerius' (timed) missions as well, currently there's not many players I know who're doing them.

For future *co-op* zones, I hope the dev's bring back nice little things like the RWZ Merits and unlockable costume parts and nice temp powers.
One new zone that I'd like to see is the Rikti Homeworld.

No it shouldn't, it would completly break the plot. If you don't know why read the white text spoilers.

I really should do something about this signature.

To the OP: Dante,
Just go to atlas, etc. if you are level 25 or above and ask if another player will let you use their orobouros portal, that should count as time travel and get you both the "Entrusted with the Secret" badge and your own portal power.

Then please explain why it is possible to use the portal from within Cimerora, yet the Menders are unaware of that nodal point in time travel.

Because the plot says so? Can you please explain the underlying thermodynamic principles involved in the Mender's application of time travel, just so we can ensure that everything is above board too?

Simple. Cimerora isn't time travel. It's a Nemesis plot to divert the time traveling fascists and their seafood allies into believing they've traveled through time. Everything you see except the 5th Column is just Automatons acting out a part (Includes the other Player Characters and you, also Automatons). Ever wondered why there are force fields around the island? Nemesis. Also, "Midnighter Club" is an anagram of "Lord Nemesis"

Damnit shouldn't have read Alvan's spoilers, I was happy with "A Wizard Did It" until it was all revealed

"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled

They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk
with one leg missing
Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"

Maybe because the word wizard is gender indiscriminate?

Thank you. I've not had a problem getting the portal on my characters. I just happened to do Cimerora before doing any time travel arcs and noticed I never got the badge. (Btw, MM = no Atlas for me )

It seems odd that the Menders can 'detect' time travel on our characters but can't when it comes to Cimerora. I get the plot reasons, it just seems.... clunky if you know what I mean. Still, got it the other day either way but the award seems a bit incongruous given that they can detect any other form of time travel we've done.

You do realise that the menders:

a) Aren't telling you the truth;

b) Don't know as much as they pretend to;

c) Are not good guys
