For the last, I'll respond here. Whilst free BB software is all well and good, it's ALL covered by licenses prohibiting use for commercial purposes. They will HAVE to use a commercial BB program. But yeah, I hope it's not UBB.

Well, sorry. I wasn't intending to hurt/insult GG in any way.
My only request is to keep my post-count. How else am I supposed to be regularly reminded to insult Cyclops? 
Also, maybe the option to add your own custom name-titles, whether it be based on reaching a certain post-count (though likely to lead to spamming), or as a minor Vet Reward.

being able to add images is ok, but make a limit of 4 per post, just so you don't have a post full of pictures with ppl going beserk only because they are running a screen resolution of 800x600.(really, they still exist)

Personally, increasing avatar size to 100x100 would be nice, but not really necessary. Embedding images in posts would be nice, as would image sigs, as long as they were fairly limited (Say, 400x100 pixels or so).
More forum categories are unnecessary, we have a few too many as it is.
Hmm, folks getting sniffy over a GG joke because it's not made by one of the elite forumites who seem to spend more time lurking on these boards than playing the game? Laugh? I nearly started...
That said I do have to say I disagree with all the non-animated lolbot related suggestions (embedding, more categories, bigger avatars) because it would lead to more clutter. I don't believe the OP mentioned anything about sigs, however.

One thing you can guarantee about forums: Someone, somewhere, will take anything you say in the worst possible light.
So, the 'suggestion' that a particular member name be banned, can be viewed as a personal attack, and has been by some people (myself included), whether you were intending to joke or not. And personal attacks are not allowed on these boards.
Unfortunately, with that single, poorly thought out 'joke', this thread has, for me, lost any prospect of being taken seriously, because if you were 'joking' about that, I have to assume that you were 'joking' about the rest of your suggestions as well.

Maybe in the new forums, if they ever really arrive, the policing of poster conduct will be left to the Mods rather than a textual scragging by a few self-righteous egos.
If you think someone has posted something offensive then there's a little icon to the right of "Post Extras" at the bottom of every post.
I can only assume The Phantoms comments were a joke without knowing of any reason why they shouldn't be ie seeing any previous conflicts.
I try to assume the good in people right up until they directly use insults that can't even be taken a different way.
After one person has offered insight on how someone is perceived I don't quite get why more people add themselves with nothing new.
Golden Girl is quite possibly, a tank in disguise. Someone could sling every insult at her only to get " " in her reply. I admire that.

Firstly, practice what you preach, rather than coming back at me on the forums. I'm quite happy to let GR do the policing - if you can find the part where I told IM that he shouldn't have posted it, that he was wrong to have posted it, and that my feelings on the matter are more important than anyone elses, do please let me know.
Secondly, I will point out that I find it offensive that you believe me to be a 'self-righteous ego'.
Thirdly, one thing that I appreciate about these forums is that everyone is free to express their opinion, which is exactly what I did. I have not condemned the OP for his post, merely stated that in my opinion, which I accept could be wrong, he made an unnecessary dig at a fellow player, and that to me it means that his entire post became devoid of any respectability. YMMV.

Lets face it, given who started the topic it was already miles gone.
As far as embedded post images, it will never happen, its far too open for abuse, posting images above the age limit of the game of any nature, or indeed illegal in nature would be far too easy, and, as has been proved in the past "weekend offtopics" tend to las tthe whole weekend, so one person posting an obscene picture friday evening could not get cleared up till much later.
How is that any different to somebody posting a link to an off site hosted image? well
1) you have to click the link, if it looks dodgy of w/e you have the option to avoid it
2) if you can embed an image in these forums, it means you have uploaded the iamge here, and its being hosted by CoH, hosting an illegal image like could be submitted could bring a whole new sect of legal ramifications to NCSoft, regardless of the fact it was one of us that uploaded it.
Sure, the vast majority of people would use it for sensible purposes, but pretty soon every freakin topic would be filled with those grotesquely annoying "ROFL Cat" things. I just wudnt be able to tolerate it.

I'd rather the avatars and sig's stay as they are as although it is slightly restrictive it does make for a clean look and I often read the forums from my palm top so clean is good (for me anyway). What I would like to see is an easy way to show who I'm quoting. I'm not bothered about a link from quote to original post, but automatically adding the name of the person quoted would be good.

I have to admit, Shannon, that your feelings are considerably more forgiving than mine, and I admire you for that.
And I will freely admit that, while I have my own problems with Golden Girl, I respect her utterly for her ability to shrug off and smile at some of the vitriol that is directed her way.
Regarding people deciding to weigh in when someone else has already said something that they agree with - it's to do with wanting your voice to be heard, rather than simply "/sign"ing a post. Everyone thinks they have something unique to add to a discussion, and they want their opinions known.
I will also admit that my responses to posts varies depending upon my mood. If I'm feeling grumpy, I take things poorly, so I try to avoid posting (such as when I originally read this thread on the day it was created, where I will happily point out that my initial reaction was to leap to GG's defence. I chose not to, knowing that I would respond vastly in excess of the provocation).
