Don't enter RV and moan when u get attacked

The title says it all but I'm still wetting myself over the tanker I attacked and killed late last night in RV.

Amazed that I actually detoggled him (he was stone I am EM/ELA) he starts saying all sorts of nasty things in broadcast. Apparantly he was farming and I quote "really needs the infamy" and he took time out to thank me for "nothing".

Anyway, if you wanna take the easy route (like I did) and farm/level in RV (2 purples so far) make sure you can handle yourself (and your emotions) when I come and wtfpwn you with my brute.

For others who read this post, I'm getting kind of lonely and the competition from the blue side has been ... pretty weak. Bring it on!

Just be a good sport when you win or lose, they are pixels after all.

Well, I surprised a Corruptor last night in RV, and he broadcast while held "Dagnammit let me be already!".
I told him that I would and I only ever (outside of a team) go for somebody once for the reputation and then its only business and nothing personal and wished him well with his pillboxing."Really?" He said, - I assured him, and he thanked me saying I was a rare breed.

Essentially I do not understand why a continual 'ganking' and bullying goes on outside of a PvP team or dual.
Wheres the code of honour these days?, I know some villains still subscribe to it, we battled for 3 evenings to try and swing the Sirens battles amidst PvP interference and when we were nearly done, I could see more approaching on the horizon, I sent a tell saying please could they hold off until we took the zone, we'd been at it all day and we could PvP after and they were accomodating.
So clearly some Villains have a sense of honour.

If this guy was trying to farm Inf in RV and was attacked fair enough!, he is in a PvP zone after all, all I can say is I hope he wasn't attacked again and again - over and over continuosly (as I have been in the past targeted like that before) and I sympathise, for the weaker ATs (outside of a LGTF) a heavy in RV is one of the few ways we can earn a sizable dollop of Inf in a relatively short space of time whether it be through pillboxes or spider salvage.
It reinforces my argument that there should be Longbow Forces encampments with a few Heavy drop-points on the Monster Isles in P.I (and the equivalent over in the Rogue Isles) so that we can go earn some serious Inf without the Pvp risk.
Thats way the farmers can earn and the moaning in RV is minimised, because if you are attacked there while farming there is an alternative you can resort to if you feel bullied.
That way the forces in RV will (for the most part) all be there because they wish to PvP.
Just a thought.

Anyway, what is your characters name and what server do you frequent?

Personally I tend to go to Recluse's Victory to test my characters limits and work out "lone wolf" zone PvP tactics. As a consequence I usually stray from the "don't bother them more than once" policy (which I do agree with) if they take me out or give me serious trouble. I dislike ganking when it happens to me and will therefore avoid going for opponents I have seen I will not have any trouble with. An easy victory does not hold much satisfaction for me.
This is more of a personal guideline than a rule though, so if I take exception to another persons manner it has happened that I continuously go after them. It is fairly rare though.

Exactly!, well said!,

Could you see Magneto getting into a barfight with the teen titans? - Of course not!, he'd sit with his back to them disrespectfully ignoring their arrest demands to 'come quietly', possibly talking down to them in some distainful, sarcastic and highly educated witty banter.... until one of them so much as touched his cape whereas he would turn round and utterly destroy them, maybe disembowelling them with the bar cutlery whilst sipping on a cup of tea.

In short in my opinion, High-Level Villains should have the Arrogance, self-confidence and pure Egomania to walk (if we had a walk emote) straight through a pack of heroes without saying a word - knowing if anybody dare touch them, they would rip the hero's arm off and beat them with the wet end.

I have to disagree for a variety of reasons.

Attacking people when they want to be left alone has nothing to do with "honour" or lack thereof. Some people would like the PvP zones to be used primarily for PvP and in the manner that you have to assume they were intended to be. Fostering an expectation that people should be left alone under whatever circumstances they happen to feel are appropriate for them, whether it be badges, dualling or farming, doesn't help the (already often crappy) atmosphere in PvP zones. OK I might not actually repeatedly kill someone if it's obvious they can't win and they aren't bothering me in any way, but it's not a discussion I'll generally get into with people because it always backfires, I'll just go selectively blind on occasion.

Anyone mithering to be left alone, particularly for farming or dualling, tends to have the red rag to a bull effect on me, normally because I know the same people will generally turn from asking nicely to a torrent of abuse at the flick of a switch.

Sometimes I go in the zones to do things other than PvP, but it's always with half a mind on the fact I may get attacked. I don't see why PvPers should cater for non PvPers in PvP zones when there's the possibility to completely and totally avoid PvP in this game if you choose to do so.

I guess I just don't have a lot of patience in general for many people in PvP zones. I cannot think for the life of me why.

I was in RV the other night on my Illusion/Kinetic Controller. Confusing a Brute so his heavy attacked him.
He cried abit on broadcast to leave him alone and I just answered with 'Its PvP get over it'.

About 2 minutes later, a stalker dropped me out of the air and set me up for an Assasin Strike. He got me and attempted to laugh at me saying 'Its PvP get over it'. I just laughed and said 'Its what I'm here for '

I then had a bit of a fight with him and he got me again. We then moved to a duel under the statue because he wanted to test out his damage. So we were having a friendly set to and I remember I could totally end drain (wish i'd remembered it earlier). So I drain and hold, with all my pets beating him up. I defeat him and he comes over broadcast with something that made him sound like he wasn't too happy and he was going to do nasty things to me. I just answered with 'Not today lol' and I left with a grin.

if he was in granite you didnt detoggle him, granite has mag 21.65 mez protection, thow in rooted and its mag 34 which to put it in context is over 3x brute mez powers and just under 3x other tanker mez powers. Its hard enough to stack em stuns over tankers normal mag 13 mez protection (but is possible) so I would assume he clicked the wrong button.

I agree with some people in this thread

But im just harsh =P

If i see you in a PvP zone, and you are the opposition i shall do everything in my power to make sure you die as many times as possible, i enter PvP zones to wipe other heroes, don't go there if you dont want to be attacked ;-)

[That was aimed at anyone]

Why farm in RV? =S The inf is naff, especially after the MASSIVE nerf and now its just even worse

Well, for some people its because they are online at times when a team is not that easy to come by.
For me, well i think it was probably the 13 million I made in spider salvage in under 45 mins which swung it for me: 2 Hami Goos'(4 million a piece) and a Prophecy (5 million). I then returned two nights later and got a purple 'chance for recharge' receipe worth another couple of million. As an Empath, short of a LGTF there would be no way I could make that amount of Inf in so short a time.

As for the RV nerfs well, It was my understanding that the Inf from turrets is exactly the same (solo:50k) as it was pre-nerf, its only the Heavies that have been affected, you cannot heal them anymore with Heal Other/Aura/AB Pain, CM and Fort remains...(not sure about Regen Aura). Also the Kins speed buff nerf looks about 40% of its old speed.

They lowered the defence of the heavies and stopped ALL regeneration of hit points afaik.

Yeah, I was wondering that as well but if u factor a heavy into the equation, its not totally impossible (assuming he didn't have rooted on - possible since he thought he was alone in the zone and would have needed all the endurance he could get to fight the turrets). Is it rooted that gives the massive regen bonus as well because I managed to take him down pretty quickly?

I'm not saying for sure that I was responsible for detoggling him but I did land a hit on him and his granite disappeared and the stun aura appeared around his head (signs of a classic detoggle) Also, the likelyhood of a level 50 tanker accidentaly turning off his mez is surely less than me and my heavy stacking 20 points of mez on him (I'm also spamming web envelope). I am very well slotted for recharge (crushing impacts x 4, lighting reflexes and hasten). Also, you can have 1000,000 points of mez protection but if you have no endurance then you have no mez and I have power sink and lighting field both of which drain end and I did catch him mid battle. Do the turrets do -def? cos that would mean that the heavy had no problem scoring hits on him, increasing his chances of the mez being stacked and being detoggled.

Again I was amazed that his shields dropped.

For the record, I agree with everything Mother's Love has said. There is a general code that one should follow in PvP. An easy kill is fun - once, after that it's just plain nasty if they dont attack back and really no fun to kill them again (is there a badge for reputation - then it might be necessary to kill them again ) I'm generally pretty well mannered and if someone gives me a good fight I'll tell them so (without trying to patronize them )
As for Magneto - I have been known to defeat my enemy and carry on farming as if they are not there when they come rushing back for revenge and when I am done killing the longbow in the area take the time out to send them back to hospital.

Still waiting for some decent spandex to show up

Ripping someone's arm off and beating him with the wet end is not a Patron power. It's part of the brute inherent.

If you kill them over and over again and its easy to do and they are crying - then keep doing it.

At the end of the day they need to get tougher or not bother entering the zone if it casues them distress.

Because if you don't do it - then someone far nastier will do it with a mob (Malborus) and then they will have something to cry about.

Of course I (Malborus) do my mob tp to also toughen them up. Just in case 1 life hardcore Diablo style ever enters the game. Also be cause I am a cruel insect with scant regard for any life what-so-ever.

So the argument becomes "If I don't beat this fool with a big stick NOW then someone else will do it eventually... so I might as well beat them now, scare them away and save that other person the trouble"?

I can see how this could improve the population of PvP zones...

Well to be honest, last night i saw a Stalker consistently targeting a defender, the defender was not experienced in PvP... in fact broadcast the fact on entry to Sirens that she was not used to this kind of thing and would appreciate any pointers, she had clearly accompanying a friend.
This aside, It IS a PvP zone and it was bound to happen, but I must say this stalker was overly targeting the defender (who was having very little impact on the tide of battle) because she was inexperienced. Hide-target-AS Strike-Run-Hide-target-AS Strike-Run-Hide-Target-AS Strike-Run-Hide-Target-AS Strike ad infinitum ad nauseum.

I must say,... when i see this I do not think "Wow, thats a really cunning Stalker targetting the weak link of a chain for strategic effect for his teams benefit!" - I just think "lame...one.trick.pony", and to be honest its not really hard is it, they actually fall down in my estimation as cunning stalkers.
